On the Beezzzz spell couldn't Mordak just spend 3 of his 5 hits since he was only hitting one area (to get the same effect instead of spending 4 hits for 2 areas)and then use the other 2 hits to get a +1? I also believe his Rolling inferno spell earlier in the video should have only done 3 damage to Amos instead of 4. Spell cost was 4 to do 3 damage. Just asking to make sure I understand it correctly. Thanks and great video as always!
He prioritized damage, and that one damage ended up being critical in killing the hero. But yes, he could have just spent 3 hits and used the leftover 2 for a +1 token.
@@Luckdragon But the Beezzzz spell makes you pay 5 health if 3, 4 or 5 is spent so spending 4 doesn't do any additional damage it would only allow him to hit an extra area.
I've had this tablecloth for about 5 years now, I picked it specifically to be neutral while still showing some texture so that the games pop off the table. I did wash it for the first time about a month ago, and I think it still does a good job of being neutral.
I was wondering, can you : Make a ranged attack (to an adjacent tile) --> Move to melee (move to an adjacent tile) --> Make a melee attack ? Or you are not able to switch between moving / attacking ?
@@JonGetsGames Oh, ok, I thought with 1 actions you could Melee / Range / Spell at the same time, my bad :-) I wasn't sure if you could move between your attacks. Thanks for the reply
There is a full co-op expansion to this game called Lludwik's Labyrinth, coming to Kickstarter June 22nd. You can see if its for you here: at www.valorandvillainy.com/
there is indeed a new Valor & villainy launching on kickstarter in Q2 of 2021 that can be integrated with this(according to BGG) called Lludwik's Labyrinth, but it will be different than Minion Of Mordak with more of a focus on coop!
Remember that I was pushing things in a teaching direction. This also only showed 2 rounds of the game and the Heroes have the possibility of gaining significantly more experience than Mordak does. I was also playing pretty aggressively, I imagine more defense would help lessen Mordak's experience gain.
1 year later and this tutorial is still my go-to video. Very thorough.
The production on this game is just superb.
This game is really fun! So glad to see you doing a playthrough on it.
Another great video, Jon. Thank you!
Fantastic description! Thank you!
This is really helpful. Thank you~ :3
Jon, perfect video as usual!
Thank you Jon, appreciate this video.
Thank you! Great Video!,👍🙂

Good catch, you are right that this would have been a smarter play! I added a note about it to the Klingon subtitles.
I like the new background. Now i just would change the table mat to a nicer colour. 😅. Great video like always 👌🏻

You can melee and ranged attack on the same turn as long as you have the actions for it. You aren't allowed to melee twice though, or ranged twice.

That's a really cool game! I'm sure it can be play coop, using logic to play the opposing Mordak. I'm not a fan of 1 vs Many games.

Hi! Does this mean there is an expansion/standalone game coming up to Kickstarter soon?
Not to my knowledge, I think they just wanted to get this game some more attention not that it is widely available :)

not a big deal, but worth mentioning if you wanted to add it to the klingon channel.
Thanks for that, though I think I'll leave it out since it's such a small thing.
@@JonGetsGames gasp! how dare you! kidding, thanks for the great video as always!
Thanks!
No, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed this video :)
Is it just me or does this game seem a bit unbalanced in the moral player's favour?
