Much more emotional and the way Andrew Garfield's Spider Man had his foot between those two wheels trying to prevent the web from breaking while fighting the Green Goblin was a great scene. Gwen Stacy’s death in TASM2 is definitely on the top 5 comic book film deaths of all times for me. The sheer tension building up to the event, the desperation of the fight, the fact it is taking place in a clock tower where Peter is literally desperately trying to turn back time, the ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL fashion of her death (I mean fucking hell, neck snap, broken back, head hitting the ground! WTF!! That’s just soooo brutal and no character deserves such a fate! I only hope Gwen’s death is instantaneous and she didn’t feel anything) and of course the ABSOLUTELY heartbreaking acting from Andrew!!! No other Spider-Man films have punched you in the gut with such brutal reality. While TASM2 is overall a more lighthearted film than the gritty, almost Batman Begins-like TASM1, this ending just shows the more brutal and dark nature of the TASM universe and Spiderman's life! Although tbf, comic book Peter has been through even more it's just out of all live-action versions, in contrast, Andrew's Peter suffered the most personal loss IMO.
RIP Gwen Stacy, the best live action Spider-Man love interest IMO and the one we should not have lost.

I 100% love the Amazing Spider-Man Gwen better. Especially her death scene. For one, when the Spider-Man 3 Gwen was hanging off the side of the building no one seemed to really care anyways. Then secondly, I overall just loved Emma Stone’s Gwen like WAY better. Her death scene was so much more beautifully created and preformed then the other Gwen’s dangling off the side of a building. And Peters regret and self blame was heartbreaking. I also loved the chemistry between Peter and Gwen in the Amazing Spider-Man & The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Okay, so I do admit that TASM2 had an emotional moment in this scene. But it was because she was supposed to die according to the script, while on the other hand, they made the scene from Spider-Man 3 a little more heroic because she was supposed to be saved according to the script. So they're totally different things to compare in my opinion.

The Andrew Garfield Gwen Stacy death has always been to me the “if superhero movies were realistic” scenario. In movies you always expect “OH! He caught her, she that means she must live” or “oh, the web attached to her so she didn’t hit the ground so she’s ok” but no. The pure force of the web halting her fall snapped her spine. Realistically Spider-Man catching someone with his web WOULD kill them unless it’s used like a bunji cord, and in this movie it did

The web that so desperately reached for Gwen looked so much like Peter’s hand reaching as far as it could to hold her one last time in his arms. The gears blocking his path from looking her in the eyes and telling her it’s gonna be ok. And the sheer guilt in his eyes when her neck snaps on the cold floor of reality. The denial that Peter goes through as he tells her to breath and to stay with him, knowing full well he heard the sound of her neck snap. He can never protect those he loves if they know who he is, but he so desperately wanted to. It wasn’t his fault, yet he feels so responsible for her fate…

Andrew Garfield acts with the most believable human emotions. The complexity of his grief and panic, and that edge of anger when he keeps trying to wake her. He makes the audience feel what he's feeling, which is his job but not every actor can come off that natural. Like RDJ in IM3 when he was having those panic attacks. Or Evans and Stan showing years of friendship in just a few moments in the original film and subsequent flashbacks. TALENT. I remember going to see Toby's films and they're very good but nobody does Peter Parker like Andrew Garfield. From snark to "oh god everything is awful please help" (comic quote seen on a newspaper in Spider-Man) Peter in the real world. I remember knowing how Gwen dies as a comic fan, and wondering if the film would do it. I wasn't prepared. It's already a tragic enough story. The actors absolutely broke my heart into little pieces.
