Hey I was at that show!! Sat in the 2nd row with my teenage son. What a great time! If you listen carefully, you can hear me. I'm the one who can't clap-in-time.
Yes, you were wrong in this 17/8th part! :)
How is it that these guys aren't hugely famous? All very talented and cohesive as a group. The egos all very much subdued. They deserve a much wider audience.
I've said it and I'll say it again, Nate Werth is a monster!
Man....the thing I love about this, is that Michael League calls when to transition based on the ques given my the soloing artist, they will breifly look at him and Michael immediately yells, "hey!" and they either stop or transition. But whats amazing about this is that even when Michael doesnt need to pay attention to look for the que, he stares intently at whoever is soloing the whole time, loving every second of it, reacting to fills, and sharing his amazement. I absoluetly love this dedication and artistic nature of Michael. I think it is amazing to watch everyones facial expression through this whole thing, you can see how much they are communicating in ways the audiance may never see. Truly amazing.
that synergy is insane.
@@runTMC3215 compass is so broken they have to be 100% in
YES!
Never, ever, get tired of listening to these guys. Wow - what talent. They are part of our musical future/heritage. Thank you Snarky Puppy!
Couldn’t have said it better!
avant-garde music 😊
Cory’s solo on Skate U bro. I swear to god this was the best era of Snarky
I'm an alum. The chord changes have changed. Blessed are the young studs.
Mike just feelin' it during the drums solo on What About Me? is life.
18:12 Cory throws in some Super Mario just for fun... man that guy's a genius.
Listen to Snarky Puppy at mornig and now You know this is will be great day. Stay safe all of You (great music fans).
I love how they get out of the way while another band member is being featured...who knew that 6 years later we'd be craving for the day we can get back together in the same space and make music.
Just now discovering these guys; my world's brighter today!
I'm where you were a year ago...just found the band about 2 months ago. And, yes, they certainly have made my world brighter, and we've only just left the station. ❤
percussionist so fuckking fire! That man going crazy back there!
Plot twist none of these guys are from berklee
Man, I remember when dozens of people could be in the same room. Good times.
Facts
Yeah, how's about a whole stadium full plus a few little green men.
Meh. They never shut up so you can hear the music properly.
I was gonna go see them live exactly a week after the confinement hit. God dammit.
And a sing-a-long! Personally, an hour and a half of this band would be too much. They are fantastic, no doubt - but it becomes tedious after a while.
MY GOD! It's such an incredibly beautiful thing to watch Michael navigate the band through all the moving parts of the songs. This band is second to none
Agreed. Such awesome leadership and communication!
I can't remember to have ever seen a more passionate and livelier bassist like him who is so recognizeable in it all the time. It's a pleasure to watch this, particular as a musician who I am myself.
Cory's got so many notes he has to bring them in a backpack
Wow! I've never seen Michael League do this much comping before!! I love it!!
I think Bent Nails is the most difficult tune they play. Jesus! And I love how they changed the second section to a Quarter Master type feel. "We get bored easily, so we constantly change it up"
00:48 - Strawman
10:25 - Skate U
23:05 - Bent Nails
33:40 - Flood

1:03:46 - Shofukan
1:16:15 - Quarter Master
1:27:23 - Lingus
U da real hero
Jake Witt thx
It's always incredible to see them working together. As if they'd all have one big coherent brain playing all the songs. There are countless moments in which one of them stands out particularly to show how talented they really are!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏
I'm just strolling through RUclips and see this vid in my suggestions and HOLY FUCK!!! Who are these guys??? They kick everyone's ass with one kick! Jesus!
8 minutes in and my face is already melted 🤯
This is not only music: this is soul expressed with audio!
The only crowd who can clap perfectly.
I love that SP hasn't shied away from 2 or even 3 guitarists. So satisfying.
This is one of the best performances I have ever seen snarky puppy play live on RUclips . Especially in this setting and the choice of songs from old to young, fantastic work! Amazing that this took place way back in 2014, just before I first saw them live in London
Brutal as always. Bunch of geniuses with the proper spotlight.
they have such great energy, love it!
Thanks for posting this! I've been needing to hear Cory's solo on Skate U forever. Great Quality also.
No head banging? "Do you feel alright?" shouts? No growls? No star behavior? - JUST MUSIC - I LOVE IT! 💚💚💚
This was the first time I'd seen them live! Thank you for posting and letting me relive such a beautiful memory!
So much talented musicians!!!
Man, this is gold!! Thanks for sharing
reminds me of some of the Acid Jazz bands that would frequent the NYC clubs in the early 90's
This really grooves u up!!!! Super live! Thx for posting . We ´r so hungry ,keep on feeding us .This must be my Heaven!
One camera and decent sound - always good enough for me! Thanks for sharing 🙏
Oh shit!!!! This was the first live snarky performance I ever saw!
Regret that these guys were not on my radar at the time and I missed this... what a great band!
That "interlude" during Shofukan was unbelievable!
Justin's blow on Shofukan.......top man....
fucking unbelievable! and the support from the other guys, namely CH. what an ambience.
It's all the best - I particularly love the guitar solo of Mark Lettieri in Sput's song Bent Nails
Help me out here: are Van Halen shirts cool? Or is that jazz irony?
@@David-iv6je I know a lot of Mark's inspiration comes from classic rock, and he has quite a few shirts of those bands.
@@noahschenck6715 Interesting! Not sure I'd go with Van Halen. Maybe Yes and Steve Howe. But a guy's inspiration is a guy's inspiration. I was just wondering if it was ironic, since VH is the least likely jazzman's shirt to see.
Remembering me when i was playing in Berklee Performance Center,Miss That Stage..
merci a vous pour le feeling
14:14 Faaaaack those toms!!! The way they allow each player to have their "focus point time" its amazing.
Even though Bob start playing Skate U a little early, everyone turns around and catch up with him immediately. Nothing fuzzy reaction but funny smile smoothly, naturally. They just go up there and enjoy with everyone. Admire each other playing, improvising. Not knowing what amazing things will happen. Very high chemistry and talented group of musicians. Love it.
This is absolutely crazy !!!
What amazing band 💯🎶👍❤️❤️
There is no such thing as a bad Snarky Puppy performance. This was an awesome show and Cory's solo on Lingus totally snapped my synapses! Just sayin'...
For me the most exciting band I discovered within the last few years. First time I heared of them two years ago. and I was thrilled instantly. I don't know not so much of them yet but my favorite pieces are "Lingus" and "Sleeper". I have to dig through their oevre the next future.
Has anybody noticed the teddybear infront of Michael? Surely a talisman from his kid(s)...? Cute!
you know you're playing to a crowd of musicians when they get that two part harmony to Shofukan straight away lol
Well, they are playing at Berklee, after all ;)
I've been really wanna Cory's Solo on Skate U! Here it is!
59:50 I like how Bob Lanzetti sort of went for this reverb soundscapes sort of vibe for most of the solo then sort of waits. As a guitarist I grew worried that he might have gotten lost in what he was doing and was going to have to awkwardly build things back up. But then it all kicks back in and he continues soloing hard, like it was all part of the plan. I like Mark Lettieri's solos a lot, but this was also really cool.
Excellent!
Cory Henry arrived late, couldn't even get his backpack off.
Then ducks out to drain a vein! 😂🎶🦐
I also asked me why he has a backpack. Some surprise for the show later?
Magnificent!!!!!!!
The "element of surprise" Live....Zawinul & Syndicate had it too......those moments when you were hit with " what was that that just came at us"......
Big soul Cory Henry is truly playing when he's playing!
When you have to be the guy to tell Cory “just one more” during Lingus 😂
There’s an audio version of this show up at Archive dot org in the live music archive. Great to SEE the band, this was a great concert! Tia Fuller just killed that. Fantastic.
Yep, that's my recording as well.
@@mkdevo wow, thank you so very much for capturing that! I like some of the earlier live stuff too like the first shows with Shaun Martin in 2009.
Check out the Berklee show on there from March 2013 too. Possibly my favorite recording I've ever made. Cheers!
The teddy bear on the pedalboard says it all 😀
Skate U - my favourite all time piece
grandi !!!!!!!!!!!!! siete bravissimi !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow!... you keep this on secret for 4 years?! hahahah... amazing shot and sound !
Haha, yeah gotta do that sometimes. I usually make sure they're worth the wait when I do though!
Maravilloso!!!!
50:31 When "The lick" is life!
Corey must have been running late to get to the gig because at the beginning of the first tune he's playing with his jacket AND backpack still on, LOL. No matter... he (and the rest of the group) always kills it!
He just came from hiking! 😂
Amazing
M***er*uck*r. I wasn't expecting those guitarists to cut loose like that at all. I am quite floored...
That percussion solo at 44:00............ daaang.
I love that Corey Henry didn’t even have time to take off his backpack before he started playing.
Happy Birthday to MEEEE!!!!!
nice COOL BAND!
Ууууууух, молодцы! Грамотеи ,однако.Дааааа, это не для широкой публики.Молодцы пацаны,грамотно и со вкусом.
I miss the original Snarky Puppy!!!
Cory Henry seems to have arrived in a hurry and forgotten to take off his backpack, until after the first solo? !
i’m here wandering what’s in the bag since he keeps it with him? lol
I saw that, at first I thought it was some kind of weird millenial fashion accessory...then he ran offstage during Justin's solo....oh ok, he was late
f@#$ing amazing Awesome
Yooo Sput straight KILLED this!!!!!
Their greatness is evident. They are tight as gov't dollars!!!
Cory Henry, out of this world!
YEA!
Amazing gig, Amazing band! I have seen the band last year, but also am glad to have seen Forq, Bill Solo, Cory with his Funk Apostles and another time with the Metropole Orchestra... But a still I'm not done with these guys!
Denen habe ich - wohl zwecks des blöden Names und des ebenso beknackten Logos - bisher keine Beachtung geschenkt. Fehler! Großartige Musiker und die sind ja auch alle noch voll jung. Klasse, echt! Gleich mal paar Alben schoppen. Grüße aus Good ol Germany.
Daaaaauuuuum!!!
Percussionist!!!!! At the end killed
Berklee is Berklee :)
looks like kory got to be somewhere just popped in to smash the keys
Wish I was there.
1:11:34 ... WOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!
WOW!! I have never wanted to marry another man more in my entire life. Thank you for this!!!
Great music, great musicians, but no human feeling!
btw, I pressed like button! :)
4:36 Some starter for the upcoming buffet 👊🏽
Big up for the headless drummer.
I not only like their incredible creativity, but also the joy they are having and sharing - watch Cory Henry and Michael! And no "big-ego-show" like some pubertarian bands.
As a fairly.competent keyboard player I feel like the Wright brothers if they landed in Kitty Hawk and an F16 flew over..
Corey’s bag is filled with hot riffs - he’s ready to pull something out of the bag
@mk Devo I hope you don't have plans to remove this vid. It's superb quality and arguably the best I've seen of Snarky live.
1:10:38 tho! That lead-in!
These guys are too much!!
Damn!, James Rolfe its also very good at guitar!!!!
How on earth is it that I've never heard of these guys? Did they just get added to Pandora recently? Soooo much great new-to-me music to take in, I'm totally digging it.
Man go look em up live with the Metropole Orkest, A M A Z I N G
Good lord man go watch the "We Like it Here" album as videos. Astonishing
49:53 love the groove
