I have the utmost respect for this incredible human being. I wish they would stop introducing her first by her two marriages. She is a force within her own right and should be introduced not only by her paintings, her writings, her journalizing, and my favorite her speaking. Her life is a tour de force
Lovely, just lovely.... Her work as beautiful from the inside out and a superior intellectual capacity, amazing! Great imaging and such a treat for those who will live from now... Thank you!
She took a front row seat and some cameos in the unfolding of the entire twentieth century. I'd love to hear her perspective on the 21st century and beyond.
@@ginterez653 I can't tell for sure cause I don't know her well enough (that's actually the first video of her i see) but I think she did , Clémence Poésy is a good actress and at least I didn't reconized her, I was thinkin' she looks familiar and then I searched and she's playing in many films, the most recent of which being Tenet that I watrched just a few days ago (and still didn't recognized her) so I take that as a good sign.
She was rich enough to fend for herself without him and so when she stopped loving him she left him. I thinks she's pretty cool. She was the only woman to ever walk away from picasso. A fame loving- gold digger would not walk away like this from her sugar daddy after a decade togeather and with two kids.
He thought she wouldn’t go, and she did, hehe. I bet he regretted it. He was horrible to so many women. I read her book a few years ago and several others about him.
The creative process that accompanies Françoise Gilot, which is based on intuition and expression, is completely in line with contemporary Compmaturism. With her works, she invites the viewer to an endless adventure in which nothing is obvious, which is fascinating in her work
It's so hard to picture a 21 y/o with a 61 y/o by today's standards. I think she was a highly coveted woman in her own right and she felt Picasso was not only the prize because of his celebrity and wealth, but she also found her artistic counterpart....I mean, he was Picasso after all.
When Picasso was dating her, he took her to the house of an old, decrepit lady. After the visit he told her 'This old woman used to be beautiful like you, and made men turn their heads when she walked by and one of my friends committed suicide for his unrequited love'. Gotta love the man lol.
She is a talented painter, no doubts but Picasso was a real genius , visual triple Mozart and she didn’t understand it , that was the reason for their separation.
Was she a self-absorbed golddigger out for fame and notoriety? If she was self-reliant, deemed a good artist and person in her own right, she wouldn't have to use other famous or infamous people to promote herself. Did she feel entitled use other people's name, positions and assets to advance her art goals and status?
She said in another interview that she came from wealth and unlike his other companions she didn't have to rely on him financially and when she was ready to leave the relationship she left! She even said he tried to get her to have more children but she refused and said two was enough! She said she was only with him because she loved him and I believe her!
The fact that she survived so long with Picasso is a testament to this woman. Class and dignity personified.
she is adorable. Wonderful, at the age of 97, she could walk, hear and see. Look at our generation.
always criticizing this and that

I've always admired her. For her artistic talent and because she knew her worth and left Picasso.
She is a kind of human I would rather speak hours to.her art is amazing and she is so sweet ♥️
Love this woman! May God Bless her with many more years!

She should live forever.

A colorful Life. Analytical. A Women of authentic wisdom and youthfulness. SIMPLE GENIUS.
RIP Francoise Gilot. The only woman that left Picasso
She does not debuts. She painted already before meeting Picasso! And always painted well!
I'm here after watching the TV Series Genius: Picasso in Nat Geo
same
Same, she seems like a really interesting artist

What an amazing woman! I love her paintings!

She is precious.

She is now 101 years old. Amazing.
Very charming, articulate and intelligent. I like her work.
She was already an acclaimed painter b4 she met PP. Saying she debuted art is insulting when she has been in the artistic world 70 years
What a living monument she is, art imitate life.
RIP Picasso & Gilot made a great team.
Happy Belated Birthday Mme. Gilot and many more to come
-When I left he said merde. - love it hahaha

Good role model for women. No point in staying with a man that treats you badly like Picasso.
Debut? Really? Mme Gilot is a producing artist since decades. Debut. Ridiculous. Maybe she had a vernissage lately.
They played each other
Good role model for women. No point in staying with a man that treats you badly like Picasso. Your art is fine.
she debuted her art in 1939
Hola yo encontré un cuadro y parece tener firma de picasso
Picasso lived on to which date in time?
she doesnt look 97 tbh
We saved Venice, next exhibition
Man Pablo was so famous his ex gets TV interviews 60 years later.
She's not just an "ex"...she has left him...and was not destroyed by their relation .she's a strong petsonality.

picasso was a misogynistic pig so uh no don’t gotta love the man

Unfortunately, talent isn't transmitted sexually.
Lol, right. I think some feel it does.
Agreed
What is it, talent?
