I think the skits & concept make it a more cohesive album but I just find myself coming back to IWEC more. Something about the cover and the production and Droogs witty bars just keep IWEC slightly above Transportation for me.

opinion wise i can approach this as a bit of an outsider which probably helps me judge freely, i ve been a long time rap fan but regarding nas i have only ever heard Illmatic and It Was Written (but those like 50x each), and jewelry was my first droog tape. I almost didnt hear any Nas out of it, but there have been some rare times where i heard a bar and it reminded me a lot of some nas rhymes. When the "Cro-Mags" line was mentioned....his whole album "Kinison" was rock and stand up....there's a line he has on there about being younger and wanting RATM's 1st LP with the self immolating priest on the front cover....in other work he alludes to fretwork and practicing scales.
Also I get where you guys are going with his _super_ throwback references..I feel that he's a little too young to have experienced many of these things 1st hand, so I imagine it's a mixture of hand me downs and re-runs, either that or he's a damn good researcher lol.

    1. He already tell he is jew in few interview and about his background.
    2. I think he always was and is a great story teller because most of his tracks are not statement track more like he uses storytelling elements to picture some situation. !t tracks like Winston Red, Rapman, You can do it! (Give Up), We Don't Know You, 42 (Forty Deuce), Monthly. I think that is what different and essential about his raps.
By the way it is a great review guys.

Review any artist that any serious hip-hop fan is aware of, Fifo will say "This is my first intro to this artist"... Does he actually like or listen to rap?

Appreciate how y'all dismissed the Nas claims quick. Reminds me when Action Bronson came out and the world thought it was Ghostface.
