Range isn't particularly amazing, but if you're close and in front of it, you will not live. It's very good at making sure one person in particular goes down. Even funnier because I was still in costume, so lots of people got killed by "Ninja Brian" from NSP.
I bought one from a Flea Market but later... my trigger broke and I tried to repair it which worked. Unfortunately, it broke again and I gave up. Right now, it's bought by someone after delivering it to GoodWill.
@@HuyenPhan-ir2wo would you happen to know how to fix it if it was pumped too much? I have two i was given by older relatives and 1 was already overpumped when i got them. I overpumped the other a few months ago, and I have been looking for a way to repair them ever since.
FYI, I wouldn't recommend going over ~25 pumps. Those old air bladders like to explode (went deaf in one ear for a few hours). I've had 3, semi auto has always been just a slower full auto, and they almost never empty the whole cylinder since the bladders aren't as stiff anymore.
My brother had the older version of the rapid fire 20 when he was about 13 (he's 19 now) but when he "got too old for Nerf guns" he agreed for my parents to sell it and the rest of his collection in a garage sale. Sad thing is I *really* envied his Nerf guns then, even though I was an 8 year old girl. Bummer he sold the guns :(

The low setting on the RF20 is merely a rate reducer, not semi auto. It does have an over pressure relief valve it rides on the forward end of the bladder and presses against a bulkhead in the front when it stretches out.
I found one of these in a thrift store for $4 and picked it up as a paint project for Steampunk; I so that alot, but did nto know what it was til I saw the Tag Back. My kids tried to get to work and they hated it, my wife left it on shelf, two days later I went in and figured to pump ten times and it fire a few rounds. I bought it for a project and it is in line. It is a fun blaster with about 20 pumps. I was happy with it. Making a robotic looking glove to use with it at a Comic Con.
I remember playing with what I think was N-Strike rerelease of one of these things as a kid, it was extremely fun to play with, I have fond memories of hosing family members with darts using this thing, the fire selector didn't work on it either, not that I knew that was what it did
Ive been modding one of these lately, and the easiest mod I recommend (this includes any blaster with a bladder) is to replace the stock pump with a Schrader tire valve to 1/4" MIP adapter, so any user can connect any pump or inflator of choice. Sadly the stock pumps to these blaster types aren't the best at hold in air after prolonged use. There are also numerous internal differences between the 2001, 2003, and 2005 RF AS-20 variants.

From my experience with my own, the dial/selector changed the rate at which it fired. The "single-fire" was just a really slow auto, making it easier to space single shots.
I have this gun!! They're rare now, sold for like $20-30 on average, but you can find them at thrift stores for $5 like in the video :P Mine shoots faster than the Hyperfire :D
i have a as20 that had a broken pump so i epoxied a valve stem to it and attached a small bike pump and it worked but hated pumping it so i got a tiny co2 powered tire inflater with a 16g co2 cartridge and attached and BOOM just made a beast! The quickest single trigger pull from the co2 fills the gun enough to empy the turret and with power! if you want some pix or video lmk!
I dug up one of these in my basement while cleaning. The thing is a god damn monster. The switch on the original is actually a speed to power modulation switch. The power setting fires at around 500 rpm and the speed setting fires at 700-750 rpm. It has no real issue firing as well. Safe to say I found my new panic blaster for cqb situations. I may try to break it open just to clean up the internals a bit though. Hopefully I dont break it.
Nerfhaven has a few mods for the rapidfire 20. Re-barreling of course and turret swap mods are all I remember off the top of my head. The one I own is getting the jedialthewise treatment.
With flywheel blasters, you either delay your shot or keep them going and not be able to be stealthy. I still want a Perses but I'm not getting rid of this.
Gu Foto Hue thats what a selector switch does. It changes from full auto to Semi-auto. and if the HyperFire does have a selector switch, the more reason to buy one
Imo this is one of the only blasters still viable in modern wars. The range is bad but no matter what modern blaster you have, if you engage someone with one of these up close, you lose. I once did a game of defend the core where myself and one other team mate had one of these in each hand and our team managed to get 400 (!) Darts into the core in two rounds- even with the two of us being heavily targeted after it became apparent how effective these things are. For rate of fire, they can't be beat.
The OPRV is in the bladder, not in the pump If the bladder expands all the way to fill the chamber it's in, a button on the back opens it up. The switch is really only fast/slow and that's all it ever was. Yours appears to be stuck on slow. There's a second trigger valve inside that restricts airflow (or doesn't).

While there is an Overpressure Relief Valve, it's not very effective, and there are numerous cases where the bladder have ruptured from overpressure. Also the dial changes the speed of the firing, so it's easier to burst fire at lower settings.

the selector switch don't make it semi or full auto it changes the rate of fire,and the barrel on the front with accurate darts look like a mouth going to eat your face
I've had a hard time finding ones that work. There unique firing mec was also their biggest problem, they tend to stick and get stuck. The pumps worth something for AT3K mods if you can find one cheap. The only good mod I've seen done to one of these if by Forsaken Angel back in the day. "Eyes of Fire" it was called. Two of them, side-by-side on one trigger connected to a air tank. Absolute dart puking beast. Full on exorcism pea soup head on a sprinkler fire hosing.
Mine also fires in full auto no matter what. They all do, all of the models have a broken select fire system. However, thats fixable by opening the blaster and glueing a orange hollow triangle like think peice that comes into contact with the select fire dial. The orange triangle peice that im talking about is on the inside of the blaster. And must be glued in the downwords position for the little Pin it comes into contact with. (Glue the pin down) thats how i got select fire.
To be honest, I don't really think that the semi to full and vise versa ever really worked, because every Rapid Fire AS-20 I ever found, it just never worked. Might have been just purely for cosmetics and/or a marketing scam.

I noticed that too, just got my hands on a working one and thought the same thing until I noticed it fired slower in that setting.

I have one of these and it will only fire full auto as well. But I found out that if you pump it abt 40 times you can get insanely good burst fire.
Of course the single fire works. How are you gonna fire a single dart when you're still holding down the trigger the entire time? Lol

Look up Forsaken Angel 24's Eyes of Fire. It's two of these put together and runs off of one HPA system
By the way, I recommend getting a yellow Reflex IX-1, so that cutie pie ties in with the yellow n-strike NERF's
