    I've used C1 since over 3 years and c3 esp pro since over a month ( 2-3 coffees daily ) . I'm impressed by manufacturer who fixed all minor issues of the original C1 grinder. During intensive usage I've replaced broken handle/plactic cup and glued broken internal bearings plactic mount. This plastic has been now replaced by one piece aluminium in C3. it's much more durable and better feeling and satisfying. ESP version has 3x more settings for grinding which I preffer over the regular one, however I'm not pleased with fancy foldable handle of PRO version. It's 2 x heavier from original one which cause grinder fall when empty ( worse weight distribution ) and I personally switched back to the non pro non-foldable handle. So if you look for the new grinder I would reccomend C3 non pro version unless you want to impress someone with fancy handle :) Or maybe it's just me who cares about weight distribution of a hand coffee grinder. Let me know in comments :)

      Thanks for the comment. You can adjust the settings based on the beans, roast level, and freshness. Generally, go slightly coarser for fresher and darker roasts, and a bit finer for lighter roasts. Hope this helps.:)

    If buying from China marketplaces, C3ESP costs just about $40 (possibly 11.11 deal), but Bomber R3 costs almost 2 times more ($70). Of course, shipping to your country will be paid separately.

    which grind setting should i use for aeropress?

  • @khunsainam
    @khunsainam 15 дней назад

    just received my chestnut C3ESP. I'm unclear on finest espresso setting, in other words lower and you can damage burr, I think I heard you say, 0.6 - 1.0, markings say 0.8-1.1. owners manual saves espresso starts at 0.7. Have you used it at the setting 0.6 0.7 and found it grinds well? I'll be using it with an espresso machine. great video thanks.

    After disassembling the grinder for a deep clean, the calibration looks off to me. Even when the indicator is pointing at 0, i can still turn it one more notch past 0. And my shot also correlates to this deviation of the 0. What used to be 0.8 for around 27-30s during the dialing in process, now changed to around 21-22s for the same grind setting. Same beans, few days apart. Is this normal?

    Can the C3 ESP pro grind fine enough to be used for Turkish coffee?

      It is able to grind ultra-fine, but I rarely make Turkish coffee, so I haven’t tried it yet.

    How are those threads at lining up? The ones on my c2 are terrible. Too small and don't easily line up. But I really do like my C2 for aeropress travel but would prefer something with more range for the picopresso. The K6 I have is too large for travel, imo.

    I own a Chestnut C3 Grinder and I'm thinking of buying the ESP plate off of eBay and replacing my stock plate with 12 grooves. Will it align as shown here or should I not consider this

    Thank you for the test, i'm looking fo a grinder and i was wondering which one is the best for espressos between this one and the kingrinder K6 or K4 ?

    • @brewcoffeehome
      @brewcoffeehome  5 месяцев назад

      I don't have the K4 or K6. I'll buy one soon, but I can't decide between the K4 and K6. Kingrinder says the K4 is more suitable for espresso with its titanium-coated burr set. Both the K4 and K6 adjust by 16 microns per step, compared to the C3 ESP's 23 microns per step. And I like their external adjustment feature. C3 Esp is ok for espresso, but not the best option out there. You can also consider 1Zpresso's J or K series, but they are more expensive.

    • @utiuandy99
      @utiuandy99 5 месяцев назад

      @@brewcoffeehomeI’d say the K6 is better overall.
      I have the K4 and it produces a lot of fines. You have to hold it completely vertical when grinding for espresso to get a similar time of extraction. Didn’t have this problem with the K6. Had some great espresso with the K4, nice syrupy texture with tones of sweetness but blended taste, the K6 doesn’t give the same texture but still makes a nice espresso, less blended and more floras for the coffee I used.
      For pour overs I never got a nice cup with the K4, got ok cups but never good or great, while the K6 was really good.
      I also have the Timemore C3, and the MHW-3Bomber R3. The K6 was borrowed for testing and I will get it again next week as there is a cheap one for sale and can’t decide if I prefer the R3 or the K6 for pourovers.

      I think R3 does a better job for espresso. And the overall experience is also better, external grind adjustment, easier and faster grinding, small adjustment step...

      Yes, I can dial in with this grinder. It adjusts 23 microns per step. But if you need more control, MHW3bomber's R3 offers even finer adjustment and K4/K6 are also worth considering.
