    The S3 is exceptional value. It feels way more premium than the other C3 grinders and the external adjustment feels extremely good.
    My only complaint with the grinder is that I wish they made the feedrate slower. Light and medium roasts can only be ground if you swirl the grinder while grinding and thus decreasing the feedrate of the beans.

      Don't you get a very consistent weight out anyway when using a direct lever? I basically completely stopped using my scale to weigh the output of my pavoni since I get 36-38g out every time very consistently so if I just dial in all my shots using a fixed output I have 0 reason to weigh it anyway. I would imagine the Robot is very similar.

      In the metal frame with pad on and off - yes, great fit.
      In the rubber drip tray, you are contacting the corners even without the rubber padding on.
      On an elevated third party drip tray like the common metal one we see with the “f” logo, it fits comfortably without the rubber padding, little bit of contact with it on and needs to be zeroed again.

    Is your old kettle the 600ml (1000W) or 800ml (1500W)? I think the new Pro Kettle (900ml) is 1350W. If you have the 800ml, that would explain the difference in heating time.

    I just ordered the Nano because of a discount via the electric grinder order, but maybe I’ll ask for a swap to the Mini. Main question: Did you feel that the change to a flat display vs the slant of the Nano was a downgrade in usability? It seems nice that it faced you more directly vs straight up, but I’m curious why they decided to undo that.

    • @coffeechronicler
      @coffeechronicler  10 месяцев назад +1

      As I mention, it's a bit awkward to touch the Nano buttons on the side. It just doesn't feel natural. So even though the slanted display was quite cool, the new scale just has a better UX.

    • @cesarquintero1180
      @cesarquintero1180 10 месяцев назад

      I have to add, I use a Nano in a daily basis, if you come from Timemore or other scales it can be weird, but after a few pours it just becomes muscle memory, it is also something that you could use if you use a big brewer or cadafe like a chemex that could cover the buttons in the top.

Unfortunately you're not here in the states otherwise you could pick up what I presume are amazon review samples off of fleabay for a ridiculous discount. I have the full size Black Mirror and I have accidentally pressed the top buttons when swirling my V60, never happens on the Nano. I love the angled screen too, the glare in my kitchen makes top-facing screens a little harder to see.

    The Nano is super annoying with the buttons on the side. I really like my basic pro. Update on the hand grinder burr would have been nice, since the timemore’s are always on the lower clarity rating. With the Sculptors being so well perceived in regard to grind/flavor, picking up on the hand grinders would have been neat

    I purchased the S3 and I don't like it. It only has 10 clicks for espresso. I used it with 3 types of coffee beans and on the finest grind size it is still not fine enough. Coffee (30grams) runs in 12-14 seconds. Way too fast.
    Next to this, the grip of the grinder is awful. And the exterior is hard to clean.
    Be aware: not suitable for good espresso!!
