    Just ordered a pair of these...and boy I tell ya...I can't wait to try some of these exercises. Thanks for posting this video. The alternatives here seem inexhaustible and they just look cooler than your standard bar in the gym.

    I am very impressed by how high your knees get during hanging knee raises

      Thanks, I used to not get them that high until a coach suggested I go as high as possible to improve hip mobility and ab strength. it makes a big difference.

    Would have never thought of most of these, I usually just do leg raise variations and planks. Hadn't really tried rings yet. One I like is similar to #1 but you use a rope or pole and basically do walk ups or climbs, not sure what to call them, but you're extended like a plank and climb up and down said rope or pole.

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  6 лет назад +1

      That's a great exercise.
      Leg raises and planks are really all you need. It pays to keep it simple but sometimes it's nice to mix in a little variety

    Do you have any lower back exercises on rings?

  • @doug.henning.6966
    @doug.henning.6966 6 лет назад

    Thoughts on decline sit ups? I feel it more in my obliques than in HLR so I decided to superset the two. I'm making better progress in my midsection but I know the movement has a history of aggravating the lower back.

    • @doug.henning.6966
      @doug.henning.6966 6 лет назад +1

      Clancy Ross I should be safe then. I do bridging every day

    • @onceuponthecross1
      @onceuponthecross1 6 лет назад +1

      you are supposed to round/flex your back during dynamic ab exercises...back pain is caused when the abs are too weak to actually round the back so that the ony movement that occurs is in the hip joint with the back extended.

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  6 лет назад +1

      That bridging is probably what's going to save your back more than anything.

    Hi Matt, from your video history I see that you have rings for about 2-3 months now. Do you still find the grip awkward due to the curvature or is it something you got used to? I'm thinking of buying rings myself.

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  6 лет назад +1

      I sometimes do, but sometimes I grab them and feel them to be perfectly comfortable. Still trying to figure out why. On a side note, I was using my suspension trainer the other day and got a weird pain in my right hand from the straight handle. I guess there's stress on the hand either way. I must admit that I am getting to like the rings more these day though. Like many things, it's probably just a matter of getting used to them.

    • @tikiortaka
      @tikiortaka 5 лет назад

      You'll get used to the rings in less than a few weeks it's the suspension stability that takes time.

    Little bit unrelated but I seen your Instagram post a while back about flamingo squats . Are you doing those over pistols now?

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  6 лет назад

      The flamingo squats are just something I'm playing around with on my off days but I may be replacing the pistols with them soon. They seem a little more natural to me.

      Awesome. Thanks for the reply. I'll tell them you sent me ;) Any way you could do some additional vids on your CC+ methodology? I've been doing Good Behavior with the exercises moved around a bit (pushups/pullups, squats/handstands, and bridges/leg raises) and on the days I'm not working one of those groupings to fatigue I'm doing all other 4 or 6 to light pump (3-8 reps) on the next stage above the one I do my work on. Progress is OK, but of course I'd like more. Thanks in advance!

    Hey Matt, I feel tension on my back-shoulders when doing close pushups. Is this normal ?

    • @ConradoNiehues
      @ConradoNiehues 6 лет назад

      Is this tension just because of the strength you're applying or is this a bad tension like some kind of a pain? Because the tension you have to feel in you back (traps and rear delts) is to stabilize the shoulder. But at the same time you feel the tension in your pecs, anterior delts and tríceps cause this is the main muscles targeted in the push up.

    • @onceuponthecross1
      @onceuponthecross1 6 лет назад

      yea!

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  6 лет назад +3

      Yep, in fact, it's great! Advanced push-ups require a lot of tension in the back and rear delt for stability so it's definitely a good thing.
