Imagine being a miner in those days with just a pickaxe and a shovel. My back hurts just thinking about it.

I'm not sure it is even possible but it would be great if you guys could do a video demonstrating the techniques and effort required to mine in pre-explosive days. Maybe show what is required to cut in just one metre.

Could the wood in a hypothetical false floor like this become calcified or otherwise mineralised, and if so how would that affect its structural integrity? On the one hand it would mean the wood hasn’t rotted away but on the other hand it would be extremely brittle and the wood would have lost its flex and internal structure 🤔 this is probably a dumb question lol sorry!
