A lot of the other artists they asked rejected the NFL because the NFL doesn’t support Black Lives Matter. So people like Rihanna, Jay Z, etc. said no because they didn’t agree with their stance on Black Lives Matter. So in short, Maroon 5 and Travis Scott were the last cookies in the cookie jar.
If you think it has nothing to do with politics you are not too bright. It's the players lives. Politics affects all of that. So yes, it has everything to do with politics. So do the roads you drive on and the air you breathe... It's all regulated by politics, so if there is an issue there there is an issue with everything.

This year's Super Bowl is disliked because there was a petition to put in the full "sweet victory" scene in the halftime show as a tribute to the creator of spongebob that passed away in 2018, it went viral and we were promised that it was going to happen because of so many people demanding it, millions and millions of people demanded it, and from what you saw, it wasn't the full scene since they basically yeeted that idea out, the animators even remade the scene so it could be shown and it was all thrown out the fucking window, NFL/Super Bowl is getting extremely hated on because of it. Mike Forti Both visuals and vocals were off, that is the most clear thing ever. Adam had countless off key notes and voice cracks through out the performance.
*I feel like this was done for two reasons* : 1. They were in Atlanta a majority black city, while the league itself was having lots of issues swirling with their race relations so they said "ok we aren't gonna have a black act headline but we'll just add as many black people as humanly possible (a choir, really!?) & black people will like us again" which is not how that works like at all lol all it did was make everyone of all races uncomfortable at the cheap attempt of "unity" 2. Coldplay, Bruno & Beyonce were great so they assumed mixing genres was the way to go but really that was a mix of two genres: pop rock and R&B which is all singing so it's more seemless & its not a combo of like 4 or 5 genre like come on NFL you should've known better! Deserve all the heat they got!

I hate how Adam got all the hate for this. Its obviously just a really bad situation. Between the NFL controversy, to them throwing in a black choir to make people happy , to the whole sponge bob petition that made them feel like they had to do it even though it didn't fit, to the lineup, to the stupid controversy over him taking his shirt off. The show was never going to work because nothing went together and was just put in to make someone happy. Bump. This was the reason. It was a huge deal, a MASSIVE deal on reddit. Sweet Victory was meant to honor the creator of SpongeBob's death last year to ALS. Instead, Sweet Victory was not played, no mention was made for the creator, and no awareness was made for ALS. The performance was a'ight. Just not the way they took liberties with the SpongeBob property to introduce Sicko Mode of all things.

I don't think the choir was a bad idea, i just think due to the lack of rehearsals the gospel wasn't utilised well. The woman who did the solo came in too strong and disolved any tension or any chance of a climax which is what you'd hope to achieve with a solo and it just didn't go anywhere. This year's Super Bowl is disliked because there was a petition to put in the full "sweet victory" scene in the halftime show as a tribute to the creator of spongebob that passed away in 2018, it went viral and we were promised that it was going to happen because of so many people demanding it, millions and millions of people demanded it, and from what you saw, it wasn't the full scene since they basically yeeted that idea out, the animators even remade the scene so it could be shown and it was all thrown out the fucking window, NFL/Super Bowl is getting extremely hated on because of it. What they did is disrespectful imo..

Mike Forti Both visuals and vocals were off, that is the most clear thing ever. Adam had countless off key notes and voice cracks through out the performance.
*I feel like this was done for two reasons* :
1. They were in Atlanta a majority black city, while the league itself was having lots of issues swirling with their race relations so they said "ok we aren't gonna have a black act headline but we'll just add as many black people as humanly possible (a choir, really!?) & black people will like us again" which is not how that works like at all lol all it did was make everyone of all races uncomfortable at the cheap attempt of "unity"
2. Coldplay, Bruno & Beyonce were great so they assumed mixing genres was the way to go but really that was a mix of two genres: pop rock and R&B which is all singing so it's more seemless & its not a combo of like 4 or 5 genre like come on NFL you should've known better! Deserve all the heat they got!
Every black artist they approached turned down the gig thanks to the politics going down at the time. As far as I'm concerned, this was more proof that politics don't belong in sports. Period.

I hate how Adam got all the hate for this. Its obviously just a really bad situation. Between the NFL controversy, to them throwing in a black choir to make people happy , to the whole sponge bob petition that made them feel like they had to do it even though it didn't fit, to the lineup, to the stupid controversy over him taking his shirt off. You don’t toy that in front of us just to hype us up and bring in Travis Scott. Like find another intro. Here's the tea. Basically Sweet Victory ( a song from spongebob for super bowl half time show) was a popular demand to be played at super bowl since the creator died juss a few months ago, there was a petition and a million people signed it, so that the whole song could be played, but instead they played the intro and changed it into something completely different, Which in a lot of people's eyes, including mine, it was very disrespectful.
