- metallica did play fixxxer live as of dec. 18, 2021
before that, they'd only played it once at rehearsal, in 1995
here's the footage of said rehearsal (it's from the documentary "A Week and a Half in the Life of Metallica") Видеоклипы
I can't believe they finally played this masterpiece live
dude I shat myself once I heard the intro on the live stream
I was 15 feet away in the pit, we were all like WTF when the opening sounds started, I knew it right away!
Andry Vasylenko Should Watch this
Andriy where are you dude?

HI FRRRRRIEND
@@Fackunator I do too, hi firrrrrrrrrieend :')
I sent it to him on Instagram
Fixxxer's verse riff is just out of this world, absolutely insane.
Ikr. That’s the thing with kid and reload. They’re not thrash metal but damn some riffs are heavy.
@@H.E.M. I've been trying to get the tone right to play this album but i've not been able to. That riff is on my top riffs i ever heard.
lol it's not even that good.
@@kingcobrajfsofficial hey cockhead, there's this thing called personal tastes. You know, subjectivity and all that. If the dude finds the riff to be out of this world, who the fuck are you to correct him on his own opinion and tastes?
@@Fackunator damn dude chill
So they came up with fixxxer two years before the official release, cool!
Most of everything on reload was written for Load. Load was supposed to be a double album but they just decided to do two separate albums
I have both Load and Reload. Both album innersleeves state that the songs were recorded in different periods of time between 1995 and 1997.
@@HeathenDance recorded in different periods but composed about the same time
Big deal! Bands like Zeppelin and Floyd were playing songs live to packed arena's 2 years before release.
@@zodiac6968 big deal
I wish that Metallica would’ve performed this live immediately after the release of Reload so that we could all enjoy it with his vocals still intact relative to the album, but tonight’s performance was still a monster debut.
I agree 👍
That's one of the only things I just could never understand about this band. Especially with a song they seem to like. It's not as though it's an 'Escape' case, which they also eventually played.
E.g. Why did it take so long to hear my friend of misery? beautiful song and the crowd split is epic. But now that they're finally playing some of those tracks, they don't have as youthful an energy behind them and even though I'm thankful (really, I am) it's bittersweet when you consider those songs are decades years old.
Point being...who writes something to never perform it? In before "they don't owe you anything" F that. Part of the clinging to the stereotypical sets is that lots of people just don't know those other songs. Unfortunate.
He wouldn't of been able to sing it after it released I don't think at least judging from the unforgiven II performance from that time and how in the song it sounds like his voice is about to split apart
@@ToneOClock The song was already written in the year 96 (James's voice in that year was very good) it could also have been played in the year 99 another year where James had a very good voice.
@@EDDIE_CARP I didn't explain what I meant very well, what I was trying to say is when James sung songs in the studio he would take it line by line with a constant supply of help from Bob, drinks just anything that could help him. But were still hard for James to sing which is why if you listen carefully to tracks like The Unforgiven II and Fixxxer you can tell that his singing style changes and it sounds more well the only word I can think of is buzzy for some reason?
So bascially what im saying is James judging by the performance of The Unforgiven II live in 1997 (where he couldnt sing it well) he probably wouldnt be able to do fixxxer
Only known footage no longer….so glad they finally played this song live
0:18 Only Het can pull off a mullet and pork chops beard look.
Mullet Hetfield best Hetfield IMO
LOL.
@@lotsapasta0858 Its more wacky than idiot, such a weird transition period in Met history
The riffs reminds me so much of Black Sabbath
I got that same vibe
A National Acrobat to be specific
@@davidmonroy86 Also Fade To Black's bridge is kinda inspired by that song.
And 26 years later they finally played it live !
You know this is old footage because lars has hair.
Not just hair, but a RIDE CYMBAL
This song should've been played in the first S&M just as The Outlaw Torn... With James' voice totally in its prime!! Absolute masterpieces and way underrated!!
Heavilly underrated song. Love playing this on my guitar.
Guys I have a Plan. I listen to only top 40 music for a decadeso that I could get terminal cancer, then make a wish will come in and I will tell them to play fixxxer live.
genius
You will be a hero for taking one for the team! :)
Underrated comment
LOOOL.
Please man. It's the only way, If you pull that off I will forever tell the legend of ya boi who got metallica to play fixxxer in its entirety at the cost of his life
This is one their best songs ever.
I love how this ended up in my recommended videos after they actually played it live.
I was front row for this show !!! Flew to Tuk on a 737 from Inuvik. Born and raised in Inuvik, it was epic to have Metallica here \m/
21 years after this it happened lol
HOLY SHIT THE ABSOLUTE MADLADS DID IT
I'm shocked, and amazed. They did it!
YEAYEAH! THEY PLAYED IT!
I remember this. It was beer promotion. I can’t remember how you got tickets but people were flown in and some allocated to the locals. There were 2 girls who travelled up there without tickets and camped out on the beach until they let them in.
Those girls either were super desperate to get in, or have the biggest balls I've heard of for camping out on the beach in the freezing weather
I like how this video has now 2x more views, because pepole search „Fixxer live” xD
One of my favourite Metallica songs.
Definitely one of the most underrated ones at least. The song totally got certain emotional depthness in it.
Such a huge shame they’ve never played it live!
Now they have!
1:07 first audition with Lou Reed
@Fackunator, thanks for uploading this!
its like bleeding me plus wherever i may roam
This title is now inaccurate 😁
Oh MY GOD THEY DID IT?

Hope they'll finally debut it at the 40th anniversary shows 🤞🤞
They sure did.
@@theshotgunscientists they sure fuckin did!!!
James rockin a Dog the Bounty Hunter haircut
*insert lyrics to Fixxxer here*
Edit: very late, but glad they performed this song.
wow. It's great to see this song was around, even in a skeletal form, a year or so before Load came out.
James Hetfield has that Lemme look with the handlebar mustache. From prop planes to beautiful Learjets. I guess you can say they made it in the rock and roll world. Long live Metallica
They did the Fixxxer jam at Woodstock99. Still remember it to this day.
They did play a very short version of this fixxer jam a couple of months earlier in the middle of Seek & Destroy in Donington , England 1995.
Check it out .... it should be available somewhere on RUclips.
To me, Attitude and Fixxxer were CRIMINALLY underrated songs, and two of my favorite on the entire Reload album.
Also Prince Charming, Devil dance and Where the wild things are
Some good clean guitar tone
I started drinking Molson ice beer to win the tickets for this badass concert. I just turned 21 so three times a week I bought a 12 pack of Molson ice 😆
Where did you find this????!!!!!
Check the description
The original came from a week and a half in the life of Metallica. It was the video in Fan Can 2
This was from soundtrack at the molsen ice party in tuktoyatuak north west territory in Canada
wow , its a treasure , thanks
Hope they play this in one of the headlining sets at the festivals
Beautiful riff
I was at that concert! It was amazing! Moist, Veruca Salt, Hole and Metallica.
I had to look up Tuktoyaktuk, NT, Canada. And man, it's way up there!
Sorry,
I was wrong in both cases.
It was an early version of Outlaw Torn jam.
Please forgive my memory is shot.
Here it sounds even better than at the album.
Last chance for Fixxxer on second S&M2 concert 8.09.2019.
Upd. THEY DID IT! Historic day 17.12.2021 (18.12. for me).
And there it went
@@Fackunator And now James Hetfield is sadly in rehab (damn I can't imagine how rough the touring life can be).
@@theevildrummingsithlord1492 I figure it's 'cause all the alcohol brands Metallica released (Blackened Whiskey and the Enter Night beer). Dunno, trying not to point fingers, I just hope James gets a speedy recovery
@@Fackunator Same. I wasn't sure what to think about when I saw the news about them releasing new alcohol brands since James was in rehab back in the early 2000s.
@@theevildrummingsithlord1492 I honestly don't know what to think. All I can say is that I hope he recovers, alcoholism can be a bitch but he already beat the bitch once. Still, poor James man. I'm almost sure the booze brands they released had something to do.
1:22 - 1:27 AWESOME!!!
Heck yeah
can't believe ive never seen this video before
You never know what artists have in their back pockets. I have had musical ideas in my mind for the last 20 years and I just introduced a couple of people to some guitar rhythms that I thought of way back in 2001😅. Not going to lie, I really enjoyed '96 and '97
they were on fire in '95. i wish Load was already out so we got more shows from back then
Sounds really good
Came here to see if you changed the title, and indeed you did lol
There's been other footages around but this one pretty much has it all,the whole band Playing along, just no vocals, they need to play the whole song at least once, and eye of the beholder as well.
I think they did played its jam in the Woodstock 99 too
They also played a very short fixxer jam at Woodstock 1994 during Seek & Destroy.
Wasn’t that Outlaw Torn?
@@Player-jx9pd Yes, you are right .s My memory has deceived me once again.
@@tj2393 Haha no worries it happens
It's awesome seeing them play it before James chopped all his hair off lol. Wish they would have played the entire song.
They were probably jamming for tuning or something and it probably just came to them
They should have done fixxxer with the symphony.
This was unreal to watch. God why can’t they just play it live already
Along with other songs from Reload
soo sabbath, love it
Jason with the afro :y
I think Load - - Reload are in history.
So they wrote _Load_ and _Reload_ while they still had some hair.
Amaaaaazing song, caralho. Que música foda
Quite sabbathy
James' metalli-mullet..
*andriy vasylenko likes this video*
This doesn't quite count as live because its a soundcheck. There is no crowd and James goes and stands where the crowd would be to hear what the mix sounds like.
It's the closest we'll ever get from an actual live performance so might as well enjoy it
Your title is a completely fucking lie though. This isn't the only time they played it live, they played as mich of it at Cunning stunts and woodstock.

the only known footage of metallica playing fixxxer live? Didn't they jam on this infront of a few hundred thousand at Woodstock?

It's a good song anyway. Crappy people are only crapping 😁
Why the hell do they not play this song live????? Plus a plethora of their other badass songs wtf with this band sometimes
"Too personal", said Hetfield
Love how all the shitty songs on every band's catalogue suddenly become "underrated". This song sucked 20+ years ago, still sucks today.

When James and Kirk used real guitars..
Do you think they use guitar hero guitars now lmao
@@Fackunator if you were into guitars you’d know what I’m referring to..

William Fernandez well, I do know quite a bit about guitars and I don't really know what you mean. They used ESP guitars here and they still do quite a bit. Amps however are a different matter these days. Back then they used real Mesa Boogie amps and now they use digital simulations from the Axe Fx live.
