This is utterly ridiculous! They are manufacturing these products with the full knowledge of what’s in them.
That’s the reason why I switched to menstrual cups and reusable cloth pads, and my cramps decreased considerably.
Remember toxic shock syndrome.
so this is what caused me to have fibroid tumors at 19 in 1995 thanks a lot folks
From the abstract of "Chemicals in menstrual products: A systematic review"
(Joanna Marroquin et al., 2024)
"Phthalates, volatile organic compounds, parabens, environmental phenols, fragrance chemicals, dioxins and dioxin-like compounds were detected in menstrual products."

"Research has found toxic chemicals like lead and arsenic in absorbant materials that you put INSIDE your body.... That doesn't mean you should stop using them though."
Yeah, OK, what that means is, it's about time I try out one of those menstrual cups.
Sometimes it’s good to be a pad user… not on beach day, but sometimes.
HELLO, I'M FROM SCRANTON PENNSYLVANIA TOO! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK 👍
Wow...and all this time I thought that the FDA had already tested tampons before they allowed millions of women in the USA to use them. 😮
Well, duh. 🙄 Yes, by all means, don't "stop using the products." Keep using them.
This world does not care about the very beings that give it life
I stopped using tampons about 6 months ago because I was having unusual belly pain and bloating. I switched to a menstrual disc. Lo and behold the pain and bloating has all stopped so I would say if you are having issues DO stop using them. Just my experience.
This can explain a lot of the current mental illness issues that specifically are affecting females at a higher rate than in the past. Not to mention developmental issues of children that has skyrocketed over the last two to three decades.
Lice shampoo contains neurotoxins that children have been using for decades. These neurotoxins have caused mental and physical health issues. I called the FDA to complain but they don't care. I got in contact with my congresswoman to see if she can get the FDA to remove these unnecessary toxins.
Actually birth control is the more likely culprit for the mental illness or the use of ssri
Why is this always a reoccurring thing? Why can we not have dependable safe products? 🤦♀️

Switching to a menstrual cup has been truly lifechanging in so many ways!
I learned this in college in 2005 and it’s just hitting the media.
What brands?
"Toxic chemicals found in tampons"... Just wait until you see what they find in commercial pads.
One goes in..The other stays on the outside.. I say the latter is the lesser evil.
@@ChocoLatinaAdiccion exactly!

I do not use tampons.I absolutely hate them.
I never liked the idea of them either. I always used pads.
CORA and RAEL are non toxic and amazing
@ginasetti3289 I just discovered CORA it doesn't leave me feeling like I've got a rash after use. I change the pads frequently, and I love that it seems like their is a lot more product in the box.
CORA is amazing doesn't leave me feeling like I have a rash afterwards. 😊
Cups and reusable pads are the way to go
The first study of its kind…..how long have they been on the market? Pathetic. I don’t use those brands. I used to buy honeypot now I buy Cora only because it’s cheaper. But still people have been talking about this for YEARS and it’s just now gaining traction?
yessss i love honeypot, i’ll have to try out cora
it’s CRAZY that these studies have never been done. like… is women’s health completely meaningless ??
Lower fertility rates, anyone?
what I was thinking t
I don't use tampons, but I know a lot of women who use it, so I at least shared this
Sigh, and I thought TSS and mold was the main worry. Good Zeus.
I stopped using tampons 5 years ago I only use cotton pads. My period ls are lighter with very little cramping💕
I guess cloth pads dont sound so bad after all
Just be sure if they are made with organic materials!
Christ. I NEVER use tampons, I always wear pads. But lots of pads can be just as bad. I used to use Always Overnight Extra Long or whatever and they gave me heavier bleeding, more painful cramps, made me feel more tired and basically just made everything worse. I switched to L. Organice pads and my periods immediately lightened and became way easier to handle in every way.
Please just spring for the organic pads gals, a higher price for less pain is SO worth it if you can afford it.
Does it absorb well?
@@aprilknight9504 Yes, they actually hold quite a lot since I buy the largest ones L makes.
I knew this was coming that’s why I switched to period panties!!! Smh!! I would get so sick with pads and tampons 😩
Ive been hearing about this way before covid started
This is exactly why i use reusable cloth pads better for the environment and safe for me
i tried to tell people that tampons were dangerous, but nobody listens to me.. this is why im team pads for life!!
Those are just as bad
14 brands?! This is no coincidence. This is intentional.
Thank you Citizens United
I am so glad I have never worn a tampon
Me, too!
Use reusables. I’ve been swearing by the lifestyle change for a decade. 95% off my severe and often debilitating cycle symptoms disappeared after detoxing off of store bought products.
I'm pretty sure pads aren't safe either
No wonder we get toxic shock syndrome
Makes me feel glad I switched to period underwear a while back👌
I was looking into this! Can u tell me which brand you use?
Same but then they were saying period underwear had PFAS 😭 I’m sticking to a silicone menstrual disk
@@tessa7778 I use the ones from Victorias Secret

Same!
I wear pads and seriously with all of the dangerous chemicals people put into basically everything these days, I worry for my menstrual pads.. 😢
Switched to the cup over a decade ago and never looked back. Ladies. It’s shift to get used to but a shift worth trying to make if you can!
Yes!!!
As a woman who's about middle aged the switch was two years ago and the struggle was real but after about 2 cycles I had it down and will never go back.
Sad thing is that they're not as mainstream as you'd think
So I yell it from the rooftops and any female friend I have I tell them about diva cups because if I didn't know maybe others don't either.
I use period silicon cup. I bought for 7 Reais and almost 10 years i already have it. Less trash. Less dirt. More freedom. Economy. Opitions the trash human have.
As much as we don't like it, tampons are unhegienic in general, use organic pads, the best option for womens health!
I never use tampons anyway 🤔 at least I know I am ok. While in general I don’t trust anything many years ago so I was suspecting that.
Thats why I never use tampons. They just always seemed like a law suit waiting to happen
I've been using those reusable cloth Cariona pads for years now. They're made with bamboo/charcoal fibers and are so absorbent that I only had to change them twice a day with heavy flow. My period pain had diminished noticably by doing so, and when I tried on a regular Always pad again, it literally burned down there. Burned. Couldn't even keep it on for a minute.
Regular pads aren't safe either- it's not just tampons. We've already been knew that regular pads are toxic, why is everyone so surprised? It's awful, but not surprising. This is probably why reproductive cancer rates have been so high for women below 30 in the past few decades...
My question is was it in them the whole time? I switch over 10 years ago pads and panty lines because it seem like when ever they full up i would have these bad cramps
Period underwear changed my life!!!
That’s why I never touched Tampons
I’m stranded in California and I’ve been intentionally poisoned with this substance so many times by a group of men when I tried going to the hospital for help they called me delusional and mentally ill… now I’m having issues if anyone knows how I can help myself please reply. Thank you
Contact your congress representative and tell them what happened. I got nerve damage from using a FDA approved product. I complained to the FDA but they don't care. Also try to find a class action lawsuit, if there is one.
Guess we’re all going to start sewing our own
What about pads? Is it safe?
No.
Use the washable reusable cotton pads, period panties and diva cups.
I wear senior diapers during my monthly ❤ 🎉🎉🎉🎉 and I'm not ashamed

Oh my goodness, I’m not alone!
are they comfy? what brands do you recommend?
@@bigphatemergy depends
I'm wearing one right now lol
This is WHY! I say don't use that, but some girls/women they never understand and start hating those who just try to help them.
But are you giving them alternatives or just saying don't use this?
Some people just tell someone not to do something but leave out alternatives so the person being warned just gets frustrated. ❤
@@KonekoPurrrfection Of course there are other alternatives and they are normal menstrual pads and there are different brands, without having to put something inside and there are others with a cloth (which I used in my country at the beginning of my menstruation).
I switched to cloth pads years ago. I very rarely use tampons anymore unless my period is extremely heavy or I’m swimming
Thankfully I only use Tampons for sport stuff, swimming, or that one time I was on my period during a convention and I didn't want my cosplay getting stained
WHICH PRODUCTS ffs!!!
😤😡
As for how toxic metals are getting into the products I'm sure it's in production and manufacturing.
This is what happens when people adopt companies as their religion
Maybe just period panties at your point are the way to go? Literally nothing is safe. And they're doing the same thing they did when they found forever chemicals in makeup- not naming the brands and I just fInd that SO OBNOXIOUS.
If there were contaminants found in the blue pill, they would fix it immediately. But, apparently research for tampons isn’t important enough due to social stigmas. Sounds like immaturity and complacency to me.
Solution - Diva cup.
Terrifying to think how the overturning of the Chevron doctrine, will make this an even bigger issue.
