I love Sprints, the album Letter to Self is glorious.
Wow. What a band. I only discovered them because of this video. I've since been listening to them all afternoon and have bought a ticket to see them in November. JHRA is a doing a real service for new music. I only became a fan of Amyl and the Sniffers and The Warning after discovering them through this channel. Thanks, Justin and Jenni. Hey Justin, not sure if you remember me but I'm that "Get your hands off of my woman" gal in Australia.
I just want to say thank you guys so much for your kindness and understanding and thank you for making my first ever concert so wonderful and fantastic.
I've been listening to your music since I was a young kid (you can thank my dad for that) and whenever I heard Givin' up I always thought it was a love song, I legit thought the line "Sticking that fucking shit into my arms" was a passionate way of saying you're holding onto your lover tightly, and "givin' a fuck" was about caring about your lover. I believe what made me think it's a love song is the use of the word honey along with fighting a dragon.
Anyway again thank you guys so much for being so wonderful and awesome! : D

Sprints "Help me Im spiralling" video is intriguing from a garage punk band because it features the psychedelic swirl which emerged from the '60s San Francisco Hippie scene, and not the later punk art that came in the '70s. Using a fade on a high-energy punk song is also rather surprising from the Sprints because punk rock songs usually have an abrupt ending to increase their sonic impact. The Pixies may be an influence, but The Pixies are more alt rock and usually place more melody into their rock sound.
Brilliant! Both your suit and the song! I like your theory analysis, it's nice to know these things. The song is hitting too close to home, LOL. Sliding up and down on bass strings can be really painful if you're using roundwounds. It's ouchy!

Just watched you tonight at great estate you was amazing. My daughter really wanted a guitar pick she plays the guitar, she's 12, and looks up to you as an artist and things your awesome. We just didn't manage to get one of the picks unfortunately we was in the wrong area . We had the best time. Thanks for being awesome.

Definitely want to hear more of the Sprints! Brilliant stuff. By the way, Richard Thompson is about to release a new album - saw him in York this week and his new songs are fantastic. Mentioning this as I would love to see a Justin interview with him.
Justin you’ll have to review Gilla Band (formerly Girl Band). Brilliantly heavy Irish experimental group. Their album The Talkies is excellent. Daniel Fox is their bassist and producer.

Thanks for this review! I enjoy a lot being enlighted by your musical suggestions. The only "fing" I would disagree (as today's mood is very punk-ish😅) is the fading away (how do they resolve this ending in a live show??) Fading away endings are strange (as if the composer couldn't had found a way to get a proper end😜)

How was the JHRA tour?

You should definitely react to RAYE! She's not punk but her music is absolutely amazing and I'm 100 percent sure she'll blow you away. Her control and performances are absolutely mind blowing, and her story is incredible. You won't regret it! Although she ranges across many genres so i think you'll need to listen to a couple of songs :)
