"Comparing ship lengths in star wars always leads to sadness" no truer words have ever been spoken
True
Star Wars does do a better job at scaling than Star Trek.
@@garyrobbins283,
It still does it poorly, lol.
Sadness leads to depression, depression lends to cancel Disney+ subscription.
I sense great sadness in you.
lmaoooooo(your not wrong the only thing I'm gonna watch is andor)
We all love fictional spaceships, and I think that’s beautiful
True but they need to make sure the shows pro communist definitely, oh what did you think conservatives were smart?! Lol no the rebel alliance was based on the Vietcong communist party and Star Wars is a leftist franchise and very woke and awesome and progressive as hell. Awww sorry dumb nazis you have nothing. Amen
A very wise jedi once said "Comparing ship lengths is a path to the dark side"
To me, the only thing that destroyed my mind was the E-wing, the supposed replacement for the X-wing.
I wonder how they'll handle them in this timeline, in Legends they were prototypes made by a group that had just lost their capital so a lot of them had design problems that took a while to be smoothed out making them hard to deploy and making upgrading the X-wing ultimately the easier choice.
And that is weird af, because there should be T-70s already in Service and we have seen T-85
Yeah, it's starting to sound like the E-wing is Star Wars's F-22, with the X and A wings like the F-15 and 16, with them getting upgrades and new models all the time.
@@WolfeSaber9933 Hmm, that is the wrong comparison if you ask me since SW is rooted in WWII roles and aesthetics
I would say that the E-Wing could be like a P-51 while the X-Series can be like the P-39 (later becoming the 63) with the A-Wing filling the role of the F4/6F (the Y Wing is defenitly the SBD/TBD)
@@darmansbar7900I disagree, for the simple fact that the P-39/63 was always a bit of an oddball and never was the USAFs main fighter. I would say that the X-Wings are F6F Hellcats (mainline multi-role fighter that was famously easy to fly), the E-Wing is the F4U Corsair, the A-Wing is the FM-2 Wildcat (but fast as fuck boi), the Y-Wing is the SBD Dauntless/TBF Avenger, and the B-Wing is the SB2C Helldiver
The MC80s actually did appear in Rebels very breifly at the end of the Mon Mothma episode when the Rebel Alliance is assembled for the first time.

That MC80A in question, at the Declaration of the Rebel Alliance is implied to be Home One too. Pretty damn fitting, if that will be definitively confirmed.

From what we've seen in the trailer and concept art, these new Frigates have four hangar bays or bay entrances. The one entrance we saw had roughly half a dozen starfighters parked around in addition to shuttles so at a rough estimate these ships can carry two squadrons of starfighters and probably closer to four squadrons. They're listed as Transport Ships but could be multirole or, on the other hand, the fleet we saw could be escorting these four+ transports in a convoy type situation.

I could see them being designed with the hanger space to handle either lots of starfighters or enough shuttles and dropships to deploy serious ground forces, depending on the mission.
I always was a fan of the MC30 as I like the mid sized star wars ships. I even the Armada miniature of it. Great to see "new" ships in Ashoka (hope they introduce the victory class during the show)
I got a wonder if we're going to see the home one for the first time since return of the jedi. It's always been one of my favorite Star wars locations. Definitely think it's the most underrated ship in Star wars.
oh yeah, Home One fucks
It's a battle-proven monument to the Rebellion's hope for a better future. I absolutely love it.
I think they left out the well known bulk freighters and the corellian gunship.

Yeah, would have loved to see a DP-20 or three in this fleet composition. Would add a duo of Dreadnaught heavy crusiers, to soak up fire from anything heavier. Those were my early fleets in Star Wars Rebellion. 6*CR90, 6*Dreadnaughts, 4*Nebulons, 2*Quasars and complement of A, X and Y wings. A Bulk crusier would have also been helpful as extra target to distract heavier enemy ships.
@@looseycanon heck throw in a pair of Republic Pelta Combat Frigates into the mix.
Maybe this is That Mon Calamari cruiser Hera Is given command of the Geist(ghost) in that Mako-ta Dockyards scene where the Executor is first deployed to the larger universe
In Empire at War, the MC-30C is a torpedo destroyer about 1/4 the length of Home One.
The way the ship engines glow gives me the vibes of awakening of the rebellion
I hope they'll add more ships from legends.
Like the Viscount-class
Nebula class , Endurance class , Corona class , (basically all the New class ships ),Mediator class , Mogadar star dreadnought , k wings , etc class
Definitely going to see a lot of legends ships eventually return. Not sure we'll see them so quickly.
@@sumukhvmrsat6347 yes all of them! Come on Disney give us all the rest of the ships from Legends!

This was my absolute favorite shot of the whole trailer! SHIPS AND FLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETS!
I actually really like that fleet set up as a task force in post-galactic civil war Republic. Enough firepower to handle anything a minor warlord is going to have but with a more flexible and defensive mix than a squadron of Star Destroyers, so less threatening in the post-dissarmament Republic.
disarmament 🤢 🤮
If they’re that big and powerful: I’d call those Heavy Frigates or Fast Attack/Light Cruisers, which… is a new direction for Star Wars.

Legends has plenty of ships in either category tbh
If 400 meters+ I'd call it a Destroyer, as a 1km+ Mon Cala starships are listed as Cruisers.
@@pepperedash4424
It’s not really the length though. It’s tonnage and role. Destroyers are either supposed to be wickedly fast and powerful or (if it has the Star prefix) ungodly durable and powerful. Those seem too lightly armored to be a Star Destroyer, and too big to be a normal Destroyer.
Maybe cruiser (certainly not star cruiser), but light cruiser or swift cruiser more likely.
@@SchneeflockeMonsoon When most combat is set within an environment where tonnage is somewhat irrelevant (space), there isn't really much left to gauge with size than length. As for role, the MC-30s _were_ wickedly fast and powerful, being one of the fastest of its type and capable of bombarding larger warships with their assault proton torpedoes plus medium turbolasers. That fits the moniker of Destroyer.
Destroyers minus the prefix "Star" are non existent within Star Wars, with the classification of Star Destroyer being used interchangeably with Star Cruiser. The ISD's were originally referred to as Cruisers in ANH and behave similarly until RoTJ, where they begin to behave like battle ships.
Loving this vid that feels reminiscent of some of the older breakdown videos. Can’t remember if there was anything like this but how about a breakdown of which is a better light destroyer, MC30 or a UNSC Halberd? #askeck
As a Star Wars Armada Nerd I am excited to see more ships because that means there is the potential for more models on the tabletop. 🤞
The new transports kindda look like a mix of the mc30 and the mc40a. Either way it’s a cool looking ship.
New eck vid, guess I’m not going to bed
MC-30s have to be one of my favourite ships in-universe. I like the lines of it. Feels like a shark hunting for prey.
This is one of the things I’m most excited for in the entire show
I love these kinds of videos. I wish they threw in more random clutter, like tugs and cargo boxes and dozens of smaller civilian ships, so we could get more shipspotting mileage out of these scenes. Lol, now I want EC Henry to do an April fools "If we enhance these four pixels, we can barely make out an 19th century Turkish teapot, which we see Marcia using in behind-the-scenes photographs of the A New Hope production. Based on this I've made a model of what the Turkish Teapot Transport could have conceivably looked like"
Do you think we'll see Inferno Sqaud? I remember hearing something recently about the voice actors meeting up or talking about something, really hinting at something. I know around this time Del would still be alive, meaning the Rebel Raider is still apart of the fleet, and we know Iden and Zay lead a rebel unit with Shriv their Imperial Spy Droid and Hask is still alive too.
Great video. I wonder if the new ships could be a canon take on the Strike-class cruiser. It would fall in the size range, and its modularity could let it serve any role from carrier to cargo transport.
If the new frigates are considered "transport ships", perhaps they are assault ships similar to the Acclamator, designed primarily to move ground forces between planets. They could also be carriers, or even serve a dual purpose role between starfighters and ground assault (swapping out fighters for more assault shuttles as needed).
I want to see a huge space battle between the New Republic Flret and Thrawn's Chimera and other Imperial ships
Ok, I guess I have to play Empire at War. Oh no.
real
I wouldn't put too much stock into fleets shown in these series, after the fakeout fleet they showed in Mando Season 3. I think Filoni & Favreau simply direct: "just put in some ships" & they put in whatever they feel like, then later, F&F direct, "nah, that's too many, we'll just use about 4 for the next scene." lol
the design of the frigate remind me of the MC30c frigate. hope, they still have the 2 heavy proton-torpedo launchers
Love Eck’s ship breakdowns since 2018 when I started watching
I bet the episodes shows us how powerful the New Republic has become after RtnJedi.
Fast forward a few episodes possibly the end episode Thrawn obliterates the fleet with the Chimera and 2 other Star Destroyers.
During the time of the New Republic I don't think Alliance fleets/forces would comprise of Freighters anymore, as they no longer need to carry their supplies with them, now having many Republic aligned planets to act as logistics hubs.
Ive been waiting for a new upload, your videos help with a bad day :)
3:45 I've loved that diagram for years, but the ships not being to scale has always driven me nutz
Cool, love the series. Always fascinating kitbashing perfect figures.
What do you use to make the battle board
Your battle of the dreadnoughts is leauges above any of the shlock put out in recent years by disney.
Yes! Eck, this is the type of dumb video I was waiting for! Thank you!
Edit: Is it possible that those ships are light cruisers and/or light/escort carriers? *Shrugs* I think those ships are in the 500+ meter range. I suppose we'll find out when Star Wars Armada releases them in store, lol.
MC30 in the show: I’m classed as a a transport and got boarded by some evil force users
MC30 in legends: Give me a good crew and a brave captain, and I’ll kill a star destroyer
Possibly a hot take: I just can't stand bare/negative space on the Nebulon-B, MC-30, or any starship. It reduces hull integrity along with carrying capacity, the exact opposite of what's needed for a warship, especially one intended to operate in a hostile environment like space.
I think they are dreadnaughts. They fit the description for the lost fleet thrawn needs and they have to start setting that up
I was really excited to see the imperial cargo transport in live now I just want a on screen appearance of a secutor
Seems like the hunt for Baylen has a similar scale to Han’s hunt for Zsinj in the legends novels.
Here's hoping Zsinj may make his way back into canon. It's clear there's quite a number of Imperial holdouts at this point, he may very well be in hiding.
@@Burning-Twilight I think a fatal flaw in Star Wars is that the writers assume every major faction just collapses (i.e. the CIS, Empire, New Republic etc) without realizing these are giant organizations that are bound to have holdouts. I thought the legends novels did a great job at showing this. The hunt for Zsinj was a huge conflict for the New Republic.
@@ericlane3256 Yeah its a sad thing really. I think Disney did this with the Empire at least, because they just didn't wanna be bogged down with them when they wanted to prop up the FO as the new big bads.
I think through the Mandalorian they have learned fans and writers can still be encapsulated with remnants of once colossal enemy forces. But only time will tell.
The fleet looks cool to me
I’ve always thought these new mystery ships to have Strike-class medium cruisers.
Famous of MC80 other than Home One is Independence…
Liberty: Is my sacrifice as the first DSII victim a joke to you!?
What's the ship behind the MC80?
I hope Ahsoka will provide the insight into the New Republic fleet we never got. I've always heard about this fabled fleet but never saw it.
I hope we get to see a Starhawk in this series
What is the cyan color ship called
Pls tell me we are getting the mc 30 and mc 40. That would be amazing
I feel like I ask this all the time but where is that beat from!!!! I always jam at the start and end of your videos
That MC80 is probably the one Hera had as of the Battle of Mako-Ta
I just want to see two big fleets battle it out again. Battle of scarif 2.0 please
those new mon cal ships could be the canon version of the mc30 but for allwe know they could be corellian ships

My guess for the new ship is just the Rebel counterpart/version of the Acclamator class ships... Can carry fighters and bring decent fire power but also land on planets to haul a lot of stuff
I hope we see a Starhawk and/or T-70 X-Wings too
I hope they're an actual allegory to the MC30 intended for fast capital ship killing but are being repurposed in this instance as transports
“That’s… why I’m here”
Makes me sad about the sequel trilogy as a new republic war against the sith would have been so much better plus I love the new ships so I wish there could have been a actual space battle (exegol was terrible)
glad to see the MC30s since Ifell in love in them from Empire at War
I know they want to keep the New Republic visually distinct from the Empire but it is just flat illogical that in the period Ahsoka is set in that the New Republic fleet would have no captured Imperial ships. There are so many interesting designs that only got a few seconds, if that, of screen time that could get shown off in something like Ahsoka.
2-3 Star Destroyers. How much is that in Basestars?
Idky, but when i look at those frigates, they renind me heavily of the gallofree transports from Hoth. Maybe they're made by the same manufacturers, just to a higher standard for a similar purpose?
This is the kind of niche content that we are looking for!
Haven't really kept upto date with Ahsoka, but I'm gonna take a guess that Ezra and Thrawn are working together in some capacity
That capital ship looks different in the upcoming ahsoka series.
Excited for this one!
All I care about is if we're going to see Luke, Han and Leia again. I think they should be pivotal characters in this era.
I wouldn’t surprised if we don’t.
I wonder if this fleet uses E-wings. There is a LEGO set featuring one and Shin's starfighter dogfighting in space so maybe there are some too.
In before the "fleet scenes disappointment" video, once the ships randomly disappear between episodes.
There's no way the official size for the Home One is accurate.
We know the winged Liberty class is slightly smaller than the wedge portion of a Star Destroyer without the superstructure, we see one in a broadside with a Star Destroyer in Return of the Jedi.
The Home One is depicted as being enormous compared to everything else in the Rebel fleet.
The Star Wars Technical Commentaries goes into great detail on this, and puts the Home One at twice the length of a Star Destroyer. It's unfortunate we never saw one beside a Star Destroyer in Return of the Jedi, or this wouldn't be in doubt.
Regardless of how big this Home One style ship is supposed to be in Ahsoka, those new ships look pretty decently sized. Way bigger than the blockade runners or Nebulons.
I hope we get some great shots of this fleet in the show.
Hi I know nobody asked but ever since I watched the foundation tv series I have been COMPLETELY absorbed by the books there are 7 of them and I only how one left. Would the first foundation book be able to be considered for the book club?
Possibly a reimagined Strike Cruiser?
ECHenry called, he wants his video ideas back.
just realised why didn’t the republic clone army use EMP grenades more commonly against droids as that’d make more sense and be more easy
Love this fleet. Great Overview
You should jet the E-wing vs Shins fighter Lego set and do a reveiw
One cannot ignore/disregard an mc-80 being part of the rebel alliance/New republic fleet composition
"It's a trap!" - Admiral Ackbar, RoTJ
i think this series could come into contact with star wars squadrons
Those Calamary ships are dangerous af though in their old rpg game they could match a Star Destroyer in firepower, and beats ISD in defense >>
Made to overpower a single star destroyer which would of been the main pray for this task group from the end of the empire.
We want many seasons of Ahsoka to be the live action remake of Thrawn trilogy
@@EternalEmperorofZakuul nope , With snoke stealing Thrawns designs and technology, From Thrawns Empire of the Hand of the unknown regions . The First order definitely didn't have the brains to Design the perfect Resurgent battle cruiser
@@sumukhvmrsat6347 1. Having many seasons adapted from one story would be overly drawn out. 2. Neither Thrawn nor the First Order designed the FO's technology. It was all bought from arms manufacturers. 3. The Resurgent is the exact opposite of perfect, as it gets wrecked by a lone starfighter with another being being taken out by a cavalry charge. That's more vulnerable than an ISD.
@@pepperedash4424 1. I didn't understand 😅 ,but ,3 3 Books in Thrawn trilogy ,3 Seasons or 4 ,First one introduction of situation charecters
2. The Tie defenders and the Missile , 2 of the most powerful (No.1 listed)Star fighters of thier time are Made (designed (atleast specifications listed out)) by Thrawn
3.Well Even if Canon New Republic is a Balloon of a Military , The Local defenses , especially the Defence fleets of Corellia , Kuat and Fondor would have been deadly , And don't even start me on Defenses of Mon Calamari would have been( yeah That Natasi daala attack in legends ) so yeah it's not the greatest , nothing to compare with Mc90 or Nebula or Trubulemcs class star destroyer, but if it achieved that goals then it would be better than a star destroyer , but I have to agree The sequel trilogy sucks and it is of sequel trilogy so yeah 👍🏻
@@sumukhvmrsat63471. A season averages 8 1/2-1 hour episodes, or the length of 2-4 movies. Movie to book adaptations are usually condensed into one movie per book, and every time they fit more than one book for a movie they suffer pacing issues (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1, The Mocking Jay Part 1).
2.Yes Thrawn had a hand in the TIE Defender and Missile Boat's design, but I don't see how that that is relevant to designing the FO's arsenal. The lore tells us it was corporations like Kuat-Entralla or Son-Blas Corporation, though the Sequel trilogy has not been the most faithful to the lore.
3. I don't see how any of this is relevant to the flaws of the Resurgent. If the TIE/sf Poe and Fin commandeered can disarm the Finalizer with just a pair of laser cannons and a laser turret, then it isn't an up to par warship. Same applies if a boarding party can hack into the turbolaser turret to fire upon it's own bridge.
Over analyzing anything star wars related is a way of life. A way of life I enjoy.
The MC30 is a playable model ship in Star Wars Armada the miniatures game.
was waiting for this
There are still a lot of Legends ships I hope to see canonized. And many of them were used by the Rebel Alliance and New Republic so I hope some show up in this series. I would love the rest of the Rebel capital ships from Rebellion to be canonized. I always preferred the Dauntless and Liberator Cruisers to the MC80s due to lore. IMO an organization that's supposed to be about all sentient species being equal having their primary heavy warship class be one that requires the bridge crew to be a specific species to get the most out of it.
And of course I adore Frigates in general so I would love to see the CC-9600 class canonized. The CC-7700 Interdictor Frigates became canon in one of, if not the first, canon novels but AFAIK the CC-9600 Line Frigates have never appeared in canon.
Yes, I believe the Detainer, among other vessels were canonised via the Tarkin novel.
Hmm... in the Thrawn Trilogy a shortage of transports has forced the New Republic to convert a number of warships into transports. Maybe these are MC30s that simply have gone through that conversion process.
Do you think Starhawks will ever make an appearance?
I sincerely hope so.
It makes sence that, even in a time of possible demilitarisasion that small task forces would be out clearing up Remnant strongholds. If Gideon is anything to go by, a light cruiser a few Gozantis and 2 squadrons of interceptors would be obliterated by this formation.
I'm kinda hedging my bets on the new ships. I can imagine a multi roll light cruiser (decently armed, transport capability and fighter complement) would be great for a government looking to limit military activities. Build "armed transports" that carry fighter and in a way this formation could be considered a convoy. 4 armed transports, 1 heavy escort and 1 escort frigate and 2 corvette squadrons. Not a battle group at all.
the mystery ships could be MC40 light cruisers, they are 500 - 600 meters long
So as it stands in Canon (least per wookiepedia) the new republic cruisers are 1,000 meters in length
Just started on Heir to the Empire in preperations to the Ahsoka series.
The Thrawn trilogy is worth reading but it's not canon. Just fyi
@@prion42 I know, but it is heavily implied that Thrawn's role in Ahsoka will be like Heir to the Empire
Isn’t home one an mc80 star dreadnought?
Going off the sense of scale implied on screen at 2.5km-3+km would place the Home One MC80 at battlecruiser size. It would have to reach 5+km to be considered a star dreadnought.
Fleet!!!
They Look like Imperial Strike cruisers
Watching this in the minions ride line in universal Hollywood
I have seen several fan vids about theories, and although some have really cool and hype about the upcoming star wars content, I don't think any ever happened. I doubt Disney understands what is it that fans wish for aside from shooting randomly until there's a hit. Not to try and ruin it for people who are having fun, but they already have a record and I am having a hard time getting excited about this Ahsoka show. No choice but to wait and see.
