Hi, I'm Charlotte Dobre. I'm an actor, reactor, singer and sometimes (not really) comedian. On this channel I do reactions, commentary and occasionally I make a joke or two. I love poking fun at social media, weddings, entitled people, tiktok and OF COURSE petty people. I upload daily, usually 7 days a week, unless life gets crazy or I get lazy. Come hang out, it's a good time.

My mom is a good karen! She uses her powers for good. Recently, we went to fast food restaurant where the cashier was new and still learning. Apparently, before we came in some customer had been yelling at the cashier. When we went up to order food, she broke down crying (understandably). My mom immediately comforted her, hugged her, told her she was doing a great job, etc. We all reassured her that she could take a break if she needed one and to take her time that we were in no hurry. My mom had her smiling again within a few minutes. More customers came in and my mom told them all discreetly that the cashier was new and having a rough day so to please be patient and understanding. My mom even helped the workers clean the tables and told the manager what a great job the cashier was doing. I love my mom so much!

When I worked in retail coupon Karens were real. There was one who had expired coupons. I told her I couldn't accept the coupons but could discount the amount of her coupons from her total. She went ballistic frothing at the mouth screaming to take her coupons. She hollered for the manager. Plot twist: I was the manager on duty and refused to discount anything. 😄 Moral of the story: Even if you give them what they want, they'll still find a way to complain.

I worked in a call center before for a large retail store and maaaannn, the number of Coupon Karens I used to receive calls from. It would've been okay, but what's frustrating is it's usually those who have LOTS of coupons that often provide us EXPIRED coupons. Wasting everybody's time.
I even received calls wherein I sometimes suspect they're just making up coupon codes cause system would not say expired but won't accept. They even have the audacity to request for the manager and insist we still give them the discount. LOL

Worked as a Barista during university years and came across many Karens. My favourite was this old Russian lady who everyone hated and she hated all the baristas. She hated the manager and the owner. Nothing worked on this woman. I started to keep a tab on Sundays to see what time she came in, what she ordered. A month later I started smiling and complimenting her nails. (They were gorgeous!) whenever I was at the espresso machine and no matter how busy the line was I had her drink on the counter as soon as she got there. She didn’t ever have to wait for the drinks to come out according to the tickets! It went on like that for a year. She was never mean to me! She was quite nice once I got to know her! Owner asked me one day and I said kill ‘em kindness! This went on for 3 years! I got to know what kind of cake she preferred with her espresso so I started ordering that cake for her. She started bringing her grandmother’s club every Sunday! The other ladies were nice. She showed me pics of her grandchildren one time! She cried when I told her I was leaving, she wanted to know where. I told her I was leaving the country cause I managed to get a job in a another country. She was sweet by the time I was done with her!

But now people just glorify when any minimum wage person just acts just as bad back to these customers like the 'idgaf' attitude is the only way to go.

Act accordingly or you don’t get served. It’s nice that she got that lady to open up to her, but you shouldn’t expect to be put ahead of everyone. You’re not special. You’re not above anyone else, humble yourself before you step to me in a customer service atmosphere. The same people that bitch about service people sucking at their job (this excludes people who are actually doing horrible at their job) don’t realize that without those workers you wouldn’t have any choice but to make your shit at home. My senior year our very old principal who was well-respected among students and staff finally retired. Our new principal came in and immediately started pissing off everyone. Her reputation got worse when it was noticed by both staff and students that she was trying to run off as many people with tenure as possible. THE DAY BEFORE GRADUATION / A WEEK AND A HALF BEFORE THE OFFICIAL END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR SHE FIRED HALF THE STAFF. Graduation was almost boycotted, but a few now FIRED staff members encouraged the students to still walk. At graduation the students refused to clap for the principal and many openly boo'd her. The other staff members in attendance did not try to stop this behavior. It was found out that many students at planned to refuse to shake her hand as they walked to get their diplomas, and it was announced to students before walking that anyone who refused to would be receiving their diplomas in the mail instead of that day. All of us shook her hand and most glared in her face as we took our diplomas while being kind to the other staff. From what I'm told she only lasted half of the next year before being fired by the board for spending school funds on herself. Dr. Van if you're reading this, fuck you.

She yelled at us for being unprofessional and told me that my employees needed to get off their asses and help. I was mad because my staff is awesome and work really hard! Another mom saw her yelling at me and came over to apologize for her behavior. She told me that my staff was awesome and were doing a great job. I ended up crying in my office of a minute because I really appreciated that someone noticed my staff working hard. Letters and packages took no more than 3-4 days and never came broken or opened. People served coffee on time and we were not in a rush all the time like today. The thing is that when almost everybody made enough money to live, the services were better. We have to think about stopping going to places where the people are exploited and start to reward businesses that pay decent salaries and treat their employees with respect.

I'm sure someone has said this elsewhere, but the 7 am thing was about the noise laws for the area. Many neighborhoods limit the noise levels between certain hours. Typically, that limitation ends at 7 am. This counts for diesel engines, lawn equipment, and construction. That's why, if your home is being renovated, the workers might roll up before 7, but they will never turn on power tools until it is officially safe to do so. I believe there are some neighborhoods that the limit is 8am, but not many

I remember my PE teacher at school being a bitch to me for my senior school career. I was bullied badly, from year 8 until I left in year 11. School was the thing of nightmares for me. I remember in year 9, the bullying escalated to violence. Unfortunately the kids in our year had interconnecting cliques so it wasn't just one group being arseholes, it was most of the year.
Back to the teacher, Mrs B. She of course had her favourites and I was not athletic so I never stood a chance. During PE I had one girl take a hockey stick to the front of my legs and then the back, I was pushed down the stairs of basketball gym and landed on my ankle awkwardly, I frequently got basketballs launched at my head and Mrs B. did nothing. Apparently I couldn't prove who I said did it 🙄
I was in English and was told that I was "going to get (my) face rearranged " on the walk home. My English teacher noticed I was upset and kept me back after class and I told him what was said. He insisted on driving me home with another teacher. I met up after school with him and the other teacher and Mrs B. Was there too.....apparently she wanted to "see these supposed bullies" for herself.....she didn't believe her star netball players were bullies. Anyway, we drove past the place I was told they were waiting and there was around 50 kids there waiting for me. I just stared out of the window and quickly thanked my English teacher for this kindness. Mrs B? Never. Said. A. Word. Not one! Nothing was done because it was after school but at least I knew i was right. That teacher made me feel like i was imagining it all. I have never forgotten her.

The problem was, he worked later in the day and none of the units had central air and in the summer it was stifling hot in the apartments and we only had windows on one side of our apartment and they parked that semi right under our windows and the exhaust would come up into our apartment and choke us out. My daughter who was also on a heart monitor and oxygen would turn blue when they did this but they didn't care. First time we all went back out together, she did it AGAIN. But it gets worse. She handed my TODDLER a thermos to hold like it was hers and she conveniently forgot to set it down. When I set it on the shelf, she gave her a different one. After I sat that one down and walked away with my kid she started throwing a fit.
Went out years later with my mom and my brother, without me, slipped things into the bottom of her buggy and tried to get them to just not notice. My brother was 16 at the time and saw her doing everything and told my mom in a separate aisle. Got to the check out and my mom lifted her box up, and like magic, there was a purple watch! 🪄 Mom asked her if she was going to buy that and she made an excuse. Something like 'oops, clumsy me'
On top of ALL THAT when she would go out to eat she would NEVER tip unless it was a man flirting with her. She would always get something, eat it half way then say she found a hair in it, send it back for a different thing so she didn't have to order twice. Or worse, she would throw a fit and demand discounts or JUST DINE AND DASH NO JOKE!

So at 7:00 a.m. anyone doing construction, or commercial work, lawn mowing or leaf blowing then is ok. Prior to that one can report them and get fined.

I had issues with my Math teacher too and would totally have enjoyed putting my hand in her face like that. She probably would have gone for a hug though, she was that delusional. She was creepily obsessed with me and kept making comments about my mother not taking care of me, asking me if my mom feeds me and stuff like that. She also kept touching/stroking my hair and talking about how pretty and long it was, often playing with it when I was trying to work and it was super distracting. I ended up having to have my hair braided and keeping it under my shirts/sweaters and this would make her so mad. Once she brought her twin toddlers to work with her and they loudly played barbies and talked to many of us including me about their barbies while the class was expected to do a timed math test. The math teacher got mad at me for not interacting with her daughters even once before rushing out of class the second the bell rang, because that's how much I wanted to be away from that woman.

I also try to reason any other thing before making something about me because for one, I know everything isn't about me, 😅and two I would be uncomfortably self conscious and feel awkward if it was.

I had a few teachers that weren't very nice but the biggest disappointment was my German teacher (I'm German). She used to give me As until she learned I was not going to graduate in German. Suddenly, my As dropped to Cs and my "rival classmate" (the one she liked best after myself) suddenly got As.
Weird, huh? Especially when things like text analysis etc are graded subjectively.
It would be so much fairer if subjects (especially those with no definitive solution) would be graded anonymously, ideally by teachers who aren't teaching the classes.
It would also shine a light on teachers who don't teach what they're supposed to teach.

Once because I had the audacity to get the flu and break my foot in the same week and miss two class sessions. The HOOPS I had to go through to get him not to fail me...I was in a literal cast, what makes you think I'm faking this, asshole? Student services, the people at the emergency room I went to, and my regular doctor were all absolutely dumbfounded.
The second time, he unfortunately did get to fail me. It was during the pandemic and I missed ONE single online quiz because I accidentally slept in. He would not let me take it just an hour later. Bruh we were in LOCKDOWN.

There used to be the attitude that being bullied is part of growing up and you just have to learn to deal with it. So teachers did not get involved. I was bullied all through school from K thru 12. If I mentioned it to my parents and they contacted the school, things would only get worse. So I learned to deal with it on my own. It was awful and I think it's why I still have a hard time making friends/trusting people. But I did learn how to handle bullies and still do -- because there are bullies at work. I told one to her face that she can't bully me, and I'm as hard a b!tch as she is. Go ahead, make my day. We didn't have any issues after that and in a weird way she respected me for it. Her manager asked me to mentor her to be a better coworker! You can't fix the bully. Instead, I gave her coworkers suggestions on how to handle her. Fun times.
