I thought Sean was leaving and doing his own thing? I'm sure glad he is still on the Fab Rat site as he really is a great guy and adds a really good blend with Paul. Hope he's on for the long haul.
We went down to see fabrats while on vacation this weekend. Ran into Sean at arties diner - he said he was planning on leaving and doing his own thing.
Quality fabrication there. I see a lot of comments about people staying. My statement is “ Paul, you’re good at letting people find their place.” The way you hand down your experience, and let people find theirs is rare. The more people you cycle through your shop the better society gets. Great stuff and I will keep watching.
@edwardsimmons3721 very well and beautifully spoken. paul, please note edward’s statement. his every word is spot on. and, they each and all speak to what has made fab rats a favorite to so many of us. many thanks to all who become members of your ever growing fab rats family.
Hello Cox family, I have been watching your channel for a few years now. Always on the TV and as you may know you really can't comment. Today I happen to have a few minutes at work so I'm watching on my computer. I just want you all to know how much I enjoy your channel. Your family was born to entertain and bring joy to us all. Michelle you are the glue that brings it all together so in my book your the best. So to all the haters out there you can... well they know:) From grandma on down you guy's Rock. I myself have learned a few things from Paul and the crew so I do feel a bit more comfortable out there with just one rig. Don't worry I keep your number and Matts in my phone incase I get stuck. Ha! Anyway just wanted to say thanks for all you guy's do. Nor Cal Pete,
Car yard adventure was hilarious. The Willys brings back childhood memories of driving an uncle's Willys pick-up in dry creek beds in Arizona. Yours will be way more fun. Super cool channel Paul.
I love the segment of the boys painting the car! I painted a 61 Rambler station wagon with battleship grey because that was what we found in the storeroom. (I was in the army then.) We didn't have rollers or brushes so we used mops (also from the storeroom). We scraped the paint off the glass and chrome and lights with razor blades. It did not turn out that bad.
Waiting on Parts? I am really impressed that you can lop off a chunk from a junker and fab it into a cool build! It is fun to watch you and Merlin just "FIX" stuff. People that have never had to dodge rattlesnakes just have no idea how your body goes berserk, when you hear ANYTHING that sounds like one, especially if you are crawling around where one could be! Great reflexes!
I just watched your Missouri jet ski ride! Thank you for experiencing our hometown. KC born and raised. If you only knew how many 100 pound catfish you drove over on that run! Missouri has many great off roading parks, but the Ozarks rocks are sharper, not Colorado round rocks! Love you guys, stay safe!!!
Paul, Sean and Jace are making things happen on the RAT BACK Willy's wagon. It's going to be awesome with all the upgrades he's doing. Power steering, AC, a brake pedal. Wow! Good video.
Pleased to see how much Sean has improved since the first day he started. I don't think he is afraid to tackle any job now. Stay on Sean you have a great teacher to learn from.
I was watching some Weber County demolition derby. Them Cox boys looked great! The 00 and 64 seemed to find each other a lot. I can’t help but think when Mama Michelle saw her boy get flipped on his top she was livid! So good nobody got hurt.
My Dad used to say, "if you're not making mistakes, your not working!" Tearing panels off inside, replace them with sheet metal or aluminum. Use old panels for pattern.
Lots of people saying "I hope Sean stays"... while I hope that too what I really want is for him to have great success! He's such a fantastic guy I can only hope he finds his passion!
Hi guys good to see Sean still helping out he does a pretty decent job to yous all work together great looking forward to seeing many more of your work videos ❤❤❤
Interesting build. Will be fun seeing it come to fruition. When Paul bumped brake m/cyl I saw it move. Suggest building a reinforcement bracket from body to far end of m/cyl. Will help firm up pedal travel.
I’m from South Africa. More than 90% of pickups are diesel powered. I have yet to see or hear about a gas ( petrol ) powered overlander. Over here Toyota and Ford is king. Pickups make up the biggest part of vehicles on the road. Overall sales figures shows Toyota Hilux on top with Ford Ranger a close second. Enjoy your vid immensely.
I watched Paul struggle with trying to form the square tube to the shape of the bumper. Paul explore the procedure of flame bending or flame straightening. Properly used round, square, or rectangular tubing is the easiest to bend. As a fabricator flame bending is something you should master. It is easier than you might think, you are already familiar with the distortion from welding. Flame bending is just the opposite, using a flame to create the distortion one is looking for.
As a long time user of that Spectracide Wasp & Hornet Killer, I have discovered that the RAID brand Wasp & Hornet Killer is working MUCH better on the Utah Wasps this year. It literally kills on contact.
Great video! It is so close to getting it started. The bumper looks good. Laughed a lot when the ( bees! ) went after your son! 😂 Shean ya need to stay! 🤞 Thank you for sharing!
Love the channel and I love the pack rat name. Just FYI, I was at a Lehi restaurant car show last week and there was a slant back mid-engine rat rod hauler with pakrat utah plate. There's probably room for two Pack Rats. Love the builds. Thanks for sharing them.
Great video! Be careful with the wasp and bug killer. I bought a can that said it kills bugs for 24 hours. 25 hours later they came back to life and tried to kill me.
Very good job with the quality control here, hunter he says that the bumper is not only off but is even correct on which way it need to go. All that with just an Eyechronometer 24:23
You da man Paul... I was voting for Rat Wagon... But after today's episode ... You're right The overlander build should be called the Pack Rat..that sounds cool and fitting for the build. The Pack Rat it is!!!!!!
Fill the willies with toolboxes put a luggage rack on top carry Badland off-road jacks put a creeper in the middle that rolls up and down the back so you can grab tools pack for tools
The black raid cans of wasp killer works on contact. The other brands all dont work very good..❤ ZEP makes awesome wasp and hornet killer but you cant find it anywhere unless your a business and can order tons of it at once... but if you have a way to order zep products, get their bee killer spray, its what they use on the powerlines and we keep a box in the chip truck for when i am up in a tree and need some haha
Paul, Jace, Shaun Thanx for sharing your Great work 💪👷 I Reinforced my bumpers for years many not a job I looked forward to doing, used to work around the Chicago area and was able to keep my Pickups in Great shape Even did the Semi trucks bumpers, very labor challenging, even made some bumpers air tanks, Keep up the Great Work and Content Thanx for sharing your experience with your work and knowledge Have a Great Day 👍😀😊
Paul .. You guys should get a 9" grinder. Trust me. It EATS much better than those little guys and you'll never go back again. At least not on a big grinding job. The little grinders are still handy for most stuff, but when you really need to remove material, the 9" grinder is a monster. You need one... Also, you can modify a washer and use your used/ throw away cutting wheels off of the big chop saw. Super handy, and you get a lot more use out of your chop saw wheels. And that 9" grinder with a used (shrunken) chop saw wheel is a cutting beast, like a hot saw. Just trust me. Get a 9" grinder in the shop
I love how you guys work, I love the variety of things you get into. But sometimes you get me so motivated to do stuff, it takes me a few attempts and a couple days to watch an entire episode! I get distracted easily lol
Paul and Michelle...thousands of people have said in the comments they really want Sean to stay on as part of the Fab Rats crew and team, and we would like to see him stay as well, he truly IS something very positive and valuable to us, the Subscribers and viewers of your videos. You should strongly consider making him a nice offer for him to stay on, it is pretty important to a lot of people who support your channel that you do what you can to retain Sean, especially since Hunter is gone now. If Sean leaves for good, it just won't be good.
Another great video guys! Thanks for your down home ingenuity and keeping it real on another great build! From our family to yours we have grown to love the Fabrats team. I cringed more than a little with this one though and wanted to encourage y’all to be safe. Hexavalent chromium poisoning is a real thing when welding on chrome plated metal and if it doesn’t get you with the “acute” impacts, is known to be really bad for the respiratory tract long term. So be careful guys! It’s another one of those ways you can kill yourself welding. I’d hate to see any of my Fabrats get hurt!
I concur that Sean should stay. He is awesome. Like a member of the family. Missing Hunter more and more every episode. Will be hard to lose them both so soon to each other but life does have to go on. Still enjoying each and every video. The progress on the “ Uncle Willy’s Pack Rat” is awesome. Great job Paul, Sean, and Jace…….. Aloha 🎉❤
For your bumper, you could have made some release cuts & that would have helped it curve. Then you would have needed to weld the cuts to make it solid again. Just an idea. Well, you got back from lunch & did what I was just thinking.
I like Pac-Rat. I have a suggestion. On the rear fenders a set of Willys rear fenders from a jeepster would look great on there. I'm sure a little cutting and trimming will need to be done. I think they were the same from 48-52 then a little different on up. I like your front bumper mods. There's a willys overland restoration company In Sonoma CA. Nor. Cal that has allot of parts available that you may be interested in. Wiper motor, mirrors, tail lights, correct gage cluster.
Really great to see Sean still coming by. I hope he continues, he is a great addition .
I thought Sean was leaving and doing his own thing? I'm sure glad he is still on the Fab Rat site as he really is a great guy and adds a really good blend with Paul. Hope he's on for the long haul.

@@valenwood02 The same day Hunter said he was going back to school!🤪

RE: THE BUMPER. A man on a fast horse will NEVER notice! Great video as always. Thank the whole crew.
Every time you go to the boneyard, and I see the old bus, I keep thinking how cool that would be on snow tracks.😊

This is the only Channel that a PERSON actually comes back to work at that I have seen WISH HUNTER would DROP BY
The Pack Rat is a good choice for the name because if that's an Overlander you'll be packing a lot of stuff in there to go camping
It fits on so many levels. It was built from Paul being a packrat and squirreling away parts since he was old enough to. 👍
The Pack Rat is an outstanding name for the Willys.
This is the coolest car you ever build. You got to make it nice, complete and paint it!!! PLEASE!!!
Quik someone render up a picture of the Fab Rat wearing a back pack or with a hobo pack!..lol
i second this!! thats a winning idea!! Their Rat Character carrying a Hobo Bindle! Would be absolutely perfect!!good call!🙌
Why? Leave the AI garbage alone
Hi guys good to see Sean still helping out he does a pretty decent job to yous all work together great looking forward to seeing many more of your work videos ❤❤❤
Those kids were having too much fun😂😂😂
I just saw Merlin on a episode of Vegas rat rods as a mechanic. He looked young. So the man's got a past.
I'd say about 70% of the appeal of this channel is what I'd call the Mad Max factor. You boys are definitely on my team in an apocalypse situation.
Interesting build. Will be fun seeing it come to fruition.

A little bit closer to the finish. That was a fun way to paint that car.
When rolling square, you have to have stress release. Some people get it warmed up before rolling to help it stretch and compress.
With the square tubing, you realize you are trying to bend two 4" widths of 1/8" (or was it thicker) plates.
