I'm not entirely sold on the narrative that "Vekoma used to be crap and now they're suddenly good". I've always been a big Vekoma fan. In Europe, they pretty much occupy the same space as Arrow: lots of classic coasters, many of them still pretty decent. Quirky and underdesigned by today's standards, sure, but fine for their day. In addition to that, they conquered the family coaster market along with Zierer, producing some very fun rides in the process. Americans don't rate Vekoma because all you got was crappy SLC's and Boomerangs, but plenty of older Vekomas in Europe (and Asia, too) are held in high esteem. I'm thinking of Python, Millennium, SuperWirbel, Revolution, Colorado Adventure and the Paris version of Big Thunder, as well as their woodies, which were rare but all solid. My favorite Vekoma factoid is that the company is ancient and used to be involved in the mining industry. If you are on a Vekoma mine train coaster, you're riding something that was made by a company that used to make real, actual mine trains!
I relate to that a lot. There were a bunch of good rides vekoma made showing that they are capable of making these rides it’s just that parks kept buying the cheap but rough ones. But they always had the capability of making good quality rides.
Maybe a fun fact to consider , vekoma has the most operating coasters in north America by manufacturer. Also even in the last 10 years vekoma has build more coasters in north america then b&m and intamin. there not the biggest coasters or the most extreme coasters by any means , but vekoma leads the whole industry in new coasters build, in asia in europe and even in north america funny enough
I love how Six Flags changed their premier parks thorough the years, starting with Great America, with Bull, X-Flight, Batman, Superman, etc. Then, it switched to Fiesta Texas with Batman the Ride, WWGLC, and Diabolical, and they've been switching to Great Adventure, with Jersey Devil and now Flash
Dude i love ur videos in fact sitting there watching ur videos really are fun and amusing, when ever I’m bored i love to result in watch ur videos, ik ur busy but u make my day watching one of ur videos. Kept up the great work coastones and kept up the quality content
Vekoma def working with independant parks, the cost for family boomerang is pretty good for great quality, the thrill coasters also are pretty good for the cost and quality, I see knoebels working with them or even HOliday world who are already working with them!
Jersey devil is constantly sending a train and never has a line. How can you compare a super boomerang that will probably take three minutes between dispatches?
Your comment about Big Bear Mountain sounds like you’ve never rode it. It’s not boring at all, it’s a fantastic ride and a capacity monster. Now we just need a massive looper to take over Vortex’s plot of land at KI. Dollywood should have them build an stc up on the former mountain slidewinder plot with the ride hanging off that mountain. Or we know they are will to do hypers. How about a hyper here going out to the train loop turnaround and back. Ky Kingdom should do a good multilaunch to replace t3. And some park on the east coast needs to build a tilt coaster to shake up the enthusiasts. Imagine if Hershey did that.
I am personally very hype for good gravy and the boomerang going to kings island because the family boomerang model is in my opinion the best family model on the market
They haven’t got that many models compared to Vekoma tho. They got the hyper coaster and the launched coaster (which really are the same thing except one has a lift hill). Compare that to Vekoma who has both of those things and family boomerangs, super boomerangs, their new STC model, the suspended family coaster, now their new family multi launch, their motorbike coaster, tilt coaster and Guardians of the galaxy cosmic rewind, on top of all their old models like the Boomerang and the SLC which have drastically improved with better trains and smoother tracking that honestly I’d rather see a new vekoma, cause if that works out the park that got it might build another interesting coaster next. The quality is on about the same level if not better
Vekoma is just B&M but better; its coasters seem so fun and intense! (edit: B&M does make intense coasters too like fury, fenix and raging bull - however most parks order less intense coasters to please the GP)
Disney using Vekoma as their go-to manufacturer isn´t really that surprising to me at all. For starters, as you mentioned, there is the reliability. Battlestar Galactica is their only ride that comes to mind that did (does?) have problems in that area. Then you have a AFAIK spotless safety record. Sure, the SLC´s can be painful, but can anyone point to any serious injuries or accident involving a Vekoma coaster? But the main one is Vekoma is willing to work with their customers to build insanely custom rides. I mean, they designed the swinging trains for Seven Dwarf´s for Disney and so far it looks like Disney is their only customer for that, and while similar, the Tron trains are unique to Disney too when it comes to the seating position to be more like the Lightcycles in the Movies, the original Motorbike Trains had a more regular Street Bike seating position. And I have no doubt that the only reason Vekoma developed the spinning ride System is becaue, yet again, Disney wanted it.
@@Chris6d that’s a family suspended coaster, same model as Dragonflier. I was specifically talking about the big chains with thrill Vekomas not family ones.
Im not sure that S&S is a good manufacturer. They're not "bad" but somewhere just under good. With the downtime they can have on coasters (not flat rides) and especially Steel Curtain having a basic block zone style and just a chain lift.. it's odd it's been terrible
Because of Intamin’s past issues, mainly with reliability. Also Six Flags recently started working with Intamin again but I think they might be ditched again in favor of Zamperla, now that Cedar Fair has merged with Six Flags
It's the big comeback. But again Vekoma has a thing for copy and paste. What would be cool if a park here in the US gets a new generation Vekoma flying coaster. Now for Great Adventure with the Super boomerang. Due to the merge, there is alot of speculation that this ride may get shelved for the time being due to no real movement on construction unlike Dorney park they already started construction on their new ride. Goes back to both companies. Six Flags had the tendency to drag their feet on building new attractions while Cedar Fair starts the project right away. So we will see what happens
Dude looked at a story-driven triple launched family coaster that winds its way over a hillside around an entire land of a park and said "it doesn't really do anything." 🤦♂
he’s kinda right tho. it’s got some airtime hills and stuff but I heard they don’t really give any airtime. As for theming and the “story driven” shit, you know there’s barely any theming on ride. It looks like a good ride, sure, and it looks fun and smooth, but it’s still just a family coaster
Vekoma coasters look awesome and we definitely need more of them. My home park is SeaWorld Orlando and I fell like a small compact launched or a suspended looping Vekoma would be a great coaster for the park.

Vekoma has shown such an amazing evolution
Do not underestimate Big Bear Mountain. It’s a fantastic ride with decent forces. Much better than Firechaser 100%
I personally think with all the vekoma family coasters we are getting, thrill coasters will start to creep in, across all parks.
Didn’t expect the family boomerang to become the next 4d freespin

4:05 I was hoping you'd throw in "Kings Dominion" or "Cedar Point" or something as a shock since it's now *technically* Six Flags lmao
2:50 This is the only thing i disagreee with. I like the aesthetics of the old-school Boomerangs more than this RCT3 Tower Coaster Mock-Off
I mean there were several Vekoma family suspended coasters that were installed in the US in the last 15-20 years.
Nobody:
The thumbnail: Ah yes, the original 6 colonies and the 39 States😂
I'm always proud off them, when I drive by the Vekoma office on my way to work.
Love these vids, keep going
I know he wasn't talking about the boomerangs when he waid high capacity, but it caught me off guard.
Great video idk how I got here so fast
SMALL REMINDER: Vekoma has also the best flying coaster model in their hands…
crazy how right after this video came out supports started being shipped to cotaland finally, he really has the worst luck

If sfne dosent get a launch coaster (super boomerang, mk whatever model, even a premier rides one. ANY LAUNCH COASTER.) I’m gonna scream.
Another w vid 🔥
with the CF SF merge, idk if they will do lots of clones anymore
the new vekoma would be such a great fit at la ronde, but at this point ive lost hope that they will ever add a new coaster to the park…
Ik this will probably never happen, but I would sell my soul for a Vekoma at Lagoon.
Big Bear Mountain is a great ride!
They already came back, they’re building a new coaster at great adventure
something about coaster talk with ken in the background just hits diff
Do your telling me that six flags Saint Louis isn’t under the sun?
Something like Abyssus at sfne would be the best thing ever
Is there any particular reason you didn't mention Cotaland's tilt coaster? Or did you just forget about it?
DON'T EVER DISS ON BIG BEAR MOUNTAIN THAT SHIT'S GREAT

0:12 i dont see a problem there tbh

Is your take on Cedar Fair/Six Flags coming soon?
When he said Six Flags doesn't like to step out of their comfort zone, text popped up on the screen saying it was the topic of the next video.
Well… Vekoma’s already here with the super boomerang coming to great adventure. And like what you said with Tron and the Disney Vekomas.

kinda sad cause they have so much potential that parks aren’t taking because of what you just mentioned
