Aladdin (SNES had crappier version of this title, by far), QuackShot, World of Illusion, Castle of Illusion, Wonderboy in Monster World, Zoom!, Ecco II The Tides of Time, Vectorman, Vectorman 2, Dynamite Headdy (Which btw, has some amazing music, better than most SNES games I've seen), and Gunstar Heroes. I could probably add to this list if I gave it a bit more time

PS2 is my favorite console of all time. Really good games, good controller and it has a really large library of games and with component cables for ps2 your ps2 can output for some games 1080i like gran turismo 4 and ssx 3

Not sure it's best to judge based on technology like HD though. It's about impact and upgrade at the time vs the previous generation. PS2 was a great console but it didnt really offer anything innovative versus previous consoles. The graphics improved like every other console and they pretty much kept the same controller which basically remains on PS4. Don't get me wrong it wasn't broke the PS2 just benefited from advances in technology like HD and an internal hard drive. They had a great library, but so have other consoles before it. Most of PS2's great games were continuing franchises created on previous consoles.
Here's my top 5 of all time in terms of impact, graphics at the time and playability.
1) N64
2) PS 1
3) Sega Saturn
4) Dreamcast
5) Nintendo
I don't why wii had ps2 graphics when there were ps3 games on the wii they had ps2 graphics and the wii u had ps3 graphics
One thing I don't understand about this list was the fact that the Xbox 360 was on this list and the Ps3 wasn't? How does that make sense, when the Ps3 is better in almost every way.
EDIT: I also think the same should go for SNES and Sega Genesis. Genesis sucked compared to SNES. I own 49 Genesis Games btw, so I can talk.
because the launch and sales were terrible at the beginning, and didn't actually change the way about games and features. The PS3 was 600$ back in 2006, and Sony still lost 200$ on every PS3 sold, because Blu-Ray was expensive back then.
Medieval Blast Who cares about the launch of the console? It depends on how the console was like when he was making this video. If you talk about the starts of consoles, the Xbox 360 also did so bad, that I would put it as one of the worst consoles, but it's not that bad now.

Dude, compare to the PS3, the PS2 was played all around the world and is was cheaper so people in developing countries are able to buy it even though the PS3 has been launch at the time. First impressions are everything and during the PS3 launch, it was really expansive and games are expansive and there not a lot of them at that time.

xbox 360 is hands down the pinnacle of all consoles, in front of the switch and wii (in my opinion). i just found my all white xbox 360 and decided to hook it up. i fixed the cd rom so it wasnt jammed, and thats it. i booted it up and it still worked. there were tons of games on it and awesome memories, and it gave me a warm feeling in my heart.

I personally loved Super Nintendo and GameCube! Was kind of shocked to not see SNES on here.

The old ps2 games were the best, they focused less on graphics and more on gameplay, IMO devs need to start focusing more on gameplay in modern games

Dreamcast was ahead of its time. It did sell modestly well, though.

I would have to disagree....no one could have wanted 64 to be great more then me. I had this system on day one. I pre-ordered it, it was the first system I ever bought with my own money back when I was only 14. But truth be told, it was very disappointing. For years it hardly had any impressive games aside from Mario and golden eye and wcw wrestling. Other than that the games were shit.

Not sure about it myself. Thought it was a great console, but its not even my favourite of that generation(GameCube was for me). Hard to pick a favourite though. I thought the ps3's library was the best this generation, and even better than the ps2's library. I suppose you have to merit for advancements in gaming, and PS2 brought a lot of people into gaming and a lot to the market.

Ianthebassist Personally I think that PS2 is better because of the games it had, such as the first Killzone, God of War, Metal gear solid 2,3 (and technically MGS1), and GTA (SA,3, and VC). The fact that the PS2 could play PS1 games made it even better. Either way though both consoles were amazing.

Ah. I love my PS2. I know my PC emulator can play, and make games look better. But nothing beats sitting down with the old controller, putting in the disk, turning on my T.V that I've had since 2004 (and still use for N64 and PS2 gaming today) and playing a game with my friend.

The NES basically single-handedly saved the gaming industry after the video game crash of 1983. It was also on the NES that some of the best and most influential game series ever started on, like Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda.
4. Game Boy
While the hardware wasn't very impressive it still gave us some fantastic game series like Pokemon. It was also some kids' first step into gaming. It later gave us a lot of other consoles in the game boy family.
3. Sega Genesis/Master Drive
This was the shit outside of the US back in the day. Sonic the hedgehog? Started here and it's still a fantastic system with fantastic graphics but with terrible add-ons.
2. SNES
My Favourite system because of A Link to the Past. These graphics can't get old and the SNES Mini made them even sharper on the big screen thanks to the hdmi port. It's also one of the best controllers ever.

It sold a loooooooooooooot because of the dvd. It was a cheap dvd player AND IT COULD PLAY GAMES? It had great games too like Ratchet & Clank and God of War 2. My favourite 3D system because of all the great games.

Personally, my #1 would be the Wii for its breakthrough, motion controls that work, beautiful library of games, as always. Backwards compatibility ( Able to play GameCube games ) was great, the Mii's were neat, Wii Shop was amazing!

Fun fact: Nintendo released a backlit version of the Game Boy... in Japan. It's pretty rare but it is worth it if you find it.

Andrew M. The Saturn is extremely underrated. It brought us classics like NiGHTS into Dreams, Guardian Heroes, Burning Rangers, the AM2 Arcade ports, Fighters Megamix, Daytona USA Championship Circuit Edition, and a lot of great JRPGs (some that never made it to the U.S.). Plus 2D fighters played a lot better on the Saturn than on the PSOne (X-Men vs. Street Fighter being the prime example).
I'm colorblind and I usually see some greys as pink and vise versa but are the Pokemon on the screen supposed to be grey or pink cause I can't tell

Personally I had to put the GameCube on my list because I'm am currently 12 years old and I remember spending countless hours playing SuperSmashBros melee on it. The game boy was for sure the system I spent the most time on! I remember playing the original silver and gold! When I was 6 I got a Ds where I played diamond, white and soulsilver, in 2012 I got my 3ds xl where I played major as mask and ocarina of time! In the beginning of 2015 I got the New 3ds xl and it gave my old one to my cousin, I loved playing Super Smash bros 3ds, Pokemon X, Pokemon Omega ruby and all of those amazing games! Currently I still have tons of fun! I have and Xbox one where I use to play minecraft, COD, and GTA V! What are your top choices?

N64 - big leap in graphics from SNES, best local multiplayer games, not as many good games as PS but the top 20-30 had enough content to keep you busy (Super Mario 64, Zelda Ocarina of Time, Zelda Majoras Mask, Banjo & Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini, The World Is Not Enough, Road Rash, Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing, etc.)
4. Sega Genesis - has at least 100 - 125 quality games worth playing compared to 50 - 75 on SNES, my first real gaming system as a kid, tons of under rated games or games that weren't properly marketed so many never knew about them, games are still fun to play
3. PS4 - tons of exclusives, remasters, compilations, great online multiplayer games, deep and immersive games you can really sink your teeth into. So many great games to keep me busy until PS5. The only reason this didn't make my number 2 is because I felt PS4 relied a little bit on previous series (Uncharted, GOW, COD, FF, etc) and remasters or compilations of many great games from PS3 (Bioshock trilogy, Last of Us, KH compilations, Burnout Paradise, etc...). Great selection of indie games and PS2 games available on the store.
2. PS3 - free online multiplayer, Blu-ray player, tons of great remasters and compilations, all PS3s play the entire PS1 library of games via disc or digital store download, tons of amazing exclusives and new series, games still look and play great with many having replay value, many under rated hidden gems.
1. PS2: plays all your PS1 games, plays DVDs, has great games in every genre, no worrying about online, micro transactions or downloading updates/patches, best selling gaming system for a reason. Games still hold up.

Yeah I know. But those different disks were manufactured from sega. These disks could have videos, and other cool stuff on them. The dreamcast disk only held 1.2 GB of storage even though it seemed to look like a full disk, it wasn't. 1.2 is alot considering the games the dreamcast had.

Best Video Game Consoles, IMO:
1. Super Nintendo Entertainmnent System (Mainly due to it being my childhood and REALLY got me into gaming at a young age). All that aside, the controller was state-of-the-art and it inspired many controller designs afterwards.
2. Sony PlayStation 2 (Great library of games and picked up off the PS1's success and made it better)
3. Nintendo Entertainment System (Saved gaming and put many franchises on the map)
4. Sega Genesis (Very diverse library and many great titles...Also, made the sports genre popular)
5. PlayStation 1 (Truly the first console that was a "game-changer," thanks to it being the first successful 3D console and had so many great games - Crash, Twisted Metal, Jet Moto, Project Horned Owl, Ridge Racer, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy VII and others).
6. Sega Dreamcast (Gone way too soon, yet still ahead of its time and truly brought the Arcade experience home -- Soul Calibur proves this)
7. Nintendo 64 (Four controller ports and some groundbreaking games - e.g. Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda -- Ocarina of Time. Can't forget about Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros. and GoldenEye 007 multiplayer)
8. Microsoft X-Box -- Original (Very underrated system, had great games such as Halo 1 and 2, Amped and many others -- It felt like a console version of a gaming PC and put Microsoft on the map)

In my personal opinion, I think the best console ever is a tie between the Super Nintendo Entertainment System or Wii, for the nostalgia and their ability to become instant household staples. The Switch would take second place, for its revolutionary ability to be both a great handheld and a great home console.
