- A MAGICAL ISLAND IN WALES// Happy Friday, Time for a new travel video! Last weekend we visited a very special and magical island in North Wales: Ynys Llanddwyn in Anglesey. It's a small tidal island that we can highly recommend. It was our second time there and it's so beautiful. There are 2 lighthouses on the island that are white and the whole vibe really makes you think you're on a Greek Island. The name Llanddwyn means "The church of St. Dwynwen". She is the Welsh patron saint of lovers, making her the Welsh equivalent of St. Valentine. Joerg and I felt as if we were part of 'The Durrells' series in Corfu that we really love. Hope you enjoy. Such a beautiful video! Angelsey holds a very special place in my heart. My mum is Welsh, her family trace back to the island since at least the 15th century and its always felt like a second home to me. Cymru am byth! 🏴

The calm waters, the beautiful landscape, the lovely old buildings, and even the ruins, have made this a viewing pleasure. Plus, the fabulous drone footage from Joerg…..just wonderful!

Stunning 💙 The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge lived on Anglesey when they were first married. William worked as an RAF search and rescue pilot. Apparently they loved it as it afforded them lots of privacy. The drone shots were brilliant, as usual.

It’s sometimes difficult to leave a comment that seems meaningful after visiting an area with such raw, natural, dramatic beauty. I know it was hot while filming, but the quality of planning and producing is so excellent I got chills while watching. ❤️

The drone footage really shows just how glorious the island is, not to forget the water surrounding it, just so clear and beautiful. The state of Virginia over here has the slogan...Virginia is for lovers, don't know what gives them that distinction tho.?? Safe travels and see you guys when we see you.
Wende, i read that the advertising agency that created this slogan back in 1969 was going to have different ones like Virginia is for history lovers... ... for beach lovers... for mountain lovers etc, then they just shorted it to Lovers. Hey it was 1969, peace and love was everywhere and it prevailed over the years ;-) lol

This was out of the ordinary. The island is so peaceful. I also wear long sleeves in summer. In Kentucky if the sun doesn't get you the mosquitos and nats will. The island would be paradise on a cool day.

Lived in North Wales for quite a few years, the scenery is just beautiful, lived near Rhyl . Visited many parts of north Wales. Especially loved Betsey Coed. Not sure if I have spelled it right. Lol. We used to get fish and chips, and sit on the river bank .then go for walks around the area. Brought back some lovely memories. Thank you.

I never thought that Wales is so mediterran, it is gorgeous! Reminds me a bit of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, there is also a coast with cliffs and I felt like in Greece.
By the way - your parasol is so beautiful! And thanks for the tip with "The Durrells", I didn't know it by now but it seems that this is exactly my cup of tea!

Stunning scenery, I love Anglesey, we attempted to do that walk a few years ago but gave up as our little granddaughter was 2 at the time and it was too far to walk. But after watching your vlog I think we will have to have a visit. Thanks for sharing.

Amazing coincidence! Just last night, I watched a video about four modern families who spent a month on that very island as the families of fishermen would have lived in the early 1900's, and here you are showing us beautiful drone shots of it. Lovely!

What a beautiful video! My husband Sean and I moved to west wales, Ceredigion 2 years ago in April from the Midlands and we have never regretted it. Our plan is to take some trips along the coastline starting north and this will definitely be one on our list, thanks guys! 😊😊
