I ran the Vancouver Marathon in the Deviate Elite, it was great and I managed a big PR for myself. I absolutely love the fit of the shoe, has a barely there feel when I am on the run which I really loved. I trained in the Deviate Nitro which turned into my favorite shoe to run in by a mile, also raced a Half Marathon in them for a great PR at that distance as well. Super excited to see how Puma will continue to innovate going forwards.
I found it to be a good training shoe but not a long run shoe..I think my deviate nitro has better forefoot cushioning..the elite goes flat relatively quickly for me but the Lt wt is better than the deviate and the breathability is better..puma has pretty much dialed in their outsole traction ..hope your ankle issue heals ..
I've tried a Deviate Nitro on but haven't bought a pair yet. The forefoot did feel quite a bit more cushioned. I agree, Puma's outsole traction is 👌. I've heard it's even better on the Deviate Nitro.
Sorry for the late reply! I think the Puma may be slightly more stable then the Metaspeed Sky, but it's close. The Puma is also about $60 less expensive and will last at least twice as long as the Metaspeed Sky. Both great shoes, but I give the edge to the Puma
I haven't run in it yet, but I hear great things. I think it could be a good training partner to the Elite or even the Fast-R (which I also want to try)
just got a pair delivered, I have been running in Vibram barefoot this last year, now that i have started working on speed and registered in few races to come. Decided to get me a pair of puma deviate nitro elite. UK8 size fits me well in length but toebox seems a bit tight ( can see my pinky toe popping out), is it because m used to vibrams or its supposed to fir tight ? does it loosen up post few runs ? need help to decide before I return the product or start using
Metaspeed Sky feels more cushioned than the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite. Some people might not find enough cushion in the Puma for a marathon but there's certainly enough cushion in the Metaspeed Sky. The outsole of the Asics is quite a bit less durable than the Puma. Weight wise- Puma is slightly lighter but both shoes are some of the lightest carbon plated shoes out there. Performance wise, I'm not sure one is much "faster" than the other. I might tend to lean towards the Metaspeed Sky. Both are very comfortable shoes. The Puma is also $50 less than the Asics and will likely last a lot longer too. Hope some of this helps!
Dusty explains at perfection the feel with two shoes. Puma seems a traditional shoe in terms of ride (but is a lot efficient as traditional shoes are). The plate effect is not espectacular but is alive in the last moment of propulsion. Sky v1 is more agressive in terms of responsiveness. IMHO I think that metaspeed is faster than nitro elite with the same effort. In the same level of Next%.
The Puma Deviate Nitro Elite ride's is closest in performance and feel with New Balance Fuelcell Rebel v2. Very similar softness and comfort. Perhaps Deviate Nitro is more efficient but both seems the same shoe under the foot.
I wouldn't use this shoe for walking. It's made for racing and meant to be ran fast in. You wouldn't need a carbon plate for walking either. I'd look at the Puma Velocity for walking.
Just get a more neutral or support kind of running shoe. U don’t utilise the tech and the price to match ur daily use by walking and using it at average pace of this shoe.

That's awesome to hear! I just ran Vancouver last weekend too. I'm looking forward to trying the Puma Fast-R when/if it comes out this summer
i love it so much. i can practically run 15km back2back for 7 days straight (a stupid yearly challenge i gave myself)
That CW is fantastic

HI SIR I AM PLANNING TO BUY PUMA DEVIATE NITRO ELITE IS IT A GOOD OPTION TO BUY PLZ HELP
Great review.. more stable even compare to Metaspeed Sky? And you prefer this over them?

Would you skip the Deviate Nitro 2 or it in combo with the Elite for all your training?

Tough to say without seeing you in them. I would probably try a size up and if that doesn't work, you may have to try a different brand/model
Hey - how does this compare to asics' metaspeed?

How does it feel when walking? I know it's a running shoe. But can you use them for regular walking? Thanks

Are they true to size?
Yup
