    I just used these for the first time on a 30 mins @ Zone 2 and they worked really well. Very comfortable and my best results yet.

    Very similar findings. They feel quite natural and normal compared to many of the others, but perform up there with the best. I think they are quite versatile and a no-brainer for a super shoe being used for more in the 5k-half range. They are up in my top tier with the Vaporfly Next%, Metaspeed Sky, and RC Elite V2. I was nailing 1k repeats around 5k pace and cut down to 3:03/k in them and they felt great. They are a bit more unassuming but really deliver on the paces.
    My 15:56 solo road 5k time trial in June was in the Vaporfly Next%. I'm racing a 5k this weekend and was thinking of taking out the Pumas for it.

      Definitely sounds like we've had a similar experience! Be interested to hear how the 5K goes if you opt for the Puma. It's a shoe I plan to keep using for sure, especially through winter racing thanks to the grip.

    I've done 5k time trials in most Carbon racers, tbh the difference between those in the top tier is only marginal. From my personal experience the fastest were the Adios Pro (1st version), Vaporfly Next% (V1), and the Asics Metaspeed Sky.
    I would put the Saucony Endorphin Pro and Puma Deviate Nitro Elite in the 2nd tier
    The New Balance RC Elite 2 was slower at shorter distances however it was the most comfortable shoe which makes it appealing for a marathon

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  2 года назад +2

      Yep I agree over 5K you're really not going to see much difference between the top carbon shoes, it's more over the longer events where the pros and cons of each start to show

    • @kierenkd
      @kierenkd 2 года назад +1

      They reduce fatigue in the lower leg, so the incremental benefits are more likely to show at longer distances when fatigue might impact.

    • @isidrotormogarcia4879
      @isidrotormogarcia4879 2 года назад +2

      @Leon Al do you believe that Adios Pro is faster than Metaspeed Sky? I'm impressed to read it. For me Metaspeed is the most snappy and comfy Carbon Plated shoe. Not far ara Vaporfly Next in terms of speed and finally in third position the Adios Pro that are more natural on transition and on feeling.

    • @leonal2680
      @leonal2680 2 года назад +1

      @@isidrotormogarcia4879 For my running mechanics the Adios Pro 1 is the fastest, with the Next% and Metaspeed Sky only slightly behind. To put things into context I have a lean muscular built (not Kipchoge skinny type) so I'm probably able to activate the energy rods relatively efficiently, I also prefer the slightly firmer ride of the Adios which results in faster cadence

    • @isidrotormogarcia4879
      @isidrotormogarcia4879 2 года назад

      @@leonal2680 very interesting. Adios have a silent and smooth ride and is one of my favourite shoes. Never compete with Adios but I decided for your comment that I give the first opportunity at these shoes 😀😉

    I got a pair of Deviate Nitro Elites at a very decent price and I am impressed. Still not sure if it will become my long distance racer (the Adios Pro v1 occupies that spot), but the Puma is somewhere between today's carbon racers and the upcoming lower stack models like the Takumi Sen 8 or the mystical Streakfly. A perfect 5k to HM racer at just 211g in a US 11.5, less than my VFN%.

    That's pretty much like reviewing a concept car for everyday use 😀. I've never seen that shoe available for sale, not in France , not in the UK, not even in Germany and that's where Puma is ...

    I just purchased a pair US 10.5 for RM899 / £166 from one of the Puma boutiques in Penang, Malaysia. Out of curiosity of scarcity, i asked the GM whether the premium DNE model was readily available in every Puma boutique in Malaysia. Since I was the only customer, he agreed and checked the system on his PC .No surprises, he replied every size of the model even the halves were available in every store. No such thing as low stock anywhere or on the waiting list excuses.Perhaps the Puma brand isn't popular with serious runners. But seriously ,if you happen to visit Malaysia for a holiday, I wouldn't be surprise if you buy a couple of pairs for your buddies before leaving....😜

    Would you say with the puma grip this makes a good wet weather racer ? I noticed in the Nike next % tempo it was very low grip on wet slick surfaces so I’m guessing the alphafly will be the same ?
    The puma grip on my every day training shoe the puma Velocity NITRO are very grippy

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  2 года назад

      Yeah I rate the Elite as a good option for wet roads. It doesn’t have as good grip as the Velocity, but it’s impressive for a super shoe. The Alphafly is pretty ok I’ve found though, I ran a race where it was completely submerged in a puddle three times and been fine.

UK8 size fits me well in length but toebox seems a bit tight ( can see my pinky toe popping out), is it because m used to vibrams or its supposed to fir tight ? does it loosen up post few runs ? need help to decide before I return the product or start using

      Yeah can be very frustrating, Puma barely pushed the Elite at all here in the UK at first. Sure it will be easier to get in future, but always a shame when something new comes along and is this hard to get
