Let's not forget, that also makes her a descendant of Eleanor of Aquitaine. A formidable, intelligent woman and renowned beauty.
Yes...way too smart for any of the guys in her day. Brilliant lady...and Grandma😊😊
ELEANOR IS MY 28TH GREAT GMOTHER
So French then
Since the present King Charles is related to William The Conqueror, then Courteney Cox should request tickets to her relatives coronation!!!
I'm the 21st great granddaughter of King Edward 1st on my Dad's side and his 16 great granddaughter on my mother's side.
No. The most senior 100 royal members of the current House of Windsor (who have an interest in the British line of succession) have to be directly related to Princess Sophia Matilda, daughter of King George III, otherwise they aren't royal - they're just aristocrats...
@@ashleybellofsydney you mean Electress Sophia of Hanover, granddaughter of King James VI & I. She was the mother of King George I and the great-grandmother of King George III, so you're a few generations late.
@@kayleearafinwiel8186 Yes, you're right...
Blood is blood and you have double!
Off to the coronation for Elly, Maggie, Mollie's Mumsy
Courtney's family history would make a really good movie!
there are many movies with all these characters! Braveheart is one example, King Edward Longshanks Hammer of the Scots is her ancestor.
Just found out that I’m related to Courtney Cox. Our family trees are so large that many of us are related to each other
Same. Im a direct descendant of Edward III through his son John of Gaunt.
Same here..
Roger Mortimer, direct ancestor, was a very naughty boy
I’m related to Edward l, through his daughter Elizabeth.
That means you and I are probably also related then! 😂😂
@@emmahudsonsinger6859 Cousin!
I’m in Phoenix if you fancy lunch.
We are distant cousins. Edward I Roger Mortimer and William the conqueror are my Great Grandparents too.
Same here
Then we are cousins. William the Conqueror is my many greats grandfather., Our line descending through the Beauchamp earls of Warwick. The genealogy was traced by a professional and it makes sense. My mother’s line traces back to King Fergus of Scotland.
I figure there are millions of us! Everyone is royal to me….
UK common ancestor point is 1300.
I've gotten several Royals in my lineage including Edward I and William the Conqueror.. Kings ,Queens,Dukes, etc of England, Scotland, Ireland, France including Eleanor of Aquitaine... Had "3" gateways into the Royal Archives to access it
Edward longshanks, the Hammer of the Scots. The king of Braveheart
I can trace my line to William the conqueror through my mother’s side.
He is an ancestor. I don’t remember which number great grandfather, but my family has records that trace to him by names of parents to grand parents and so on and so on.
Yes, that is now a family free works....
@@MrsBrit1 😁
1035 is 33 generations ago.
You'd have over a billion forebears alive then even allowing for cousin marriage.
William The Conqueror's wife Matilda of Flanders was a descendant of King Alfred the Great
A King has X number of children, the eldest son gets the crown, the others get different titles and daughters are married off to lesser nobles, the many children of the lessers the eldest son gets the title and the younger sons get even lesser titles or none at all, the daughters are married off. The next generation the same happens and so on until the descendants of a King are no better than commoners as they were not of the lines that inherited land and titles.
found the debbie downer. also, it doesn't make it any less cool. you're just bitter your ancestors were serfs and peasants.
Most of us are related to William the Conqueror.
He was born at the European common ancestor point 1040.
This is AWSOME!!!
I don't understand why she keeps touching that paper.
Fun fact: most dont know this, but courtneys mom married a second time. To who? Stewart copelands (drummer of the police) dads brother. His uncle. Theyre cousins through marriage.
My 27th or 26th great grandfather came over from France and fought in the war William the conqueror was in…..
Interesting 😮😮😮😮
So William the Conqueror is her 26th Great Grandfather and William the Conqueror is my 26th Great GrandUncle
My Van Loon ancestor was the personal physician to William of Orange.
Most Americans who are of Anglo heritage are descended from Edward I of England.
So al the way back to Rollo the Viking!
I think they overlooked the de Spencer line! I believe that’s Lady Diana Spencer’s line.
Still does not get away from the fact he was William the ******* 😂
He wasn't literally called 'William the B.....'.
It actually says 'William the b..... son of' which is just how they used to say 'the illegitimate son of'.
William the conqueror is my 27th ggf..as they say, we cant help our rels 😂
King Harold Godwinsson , my 31st ggf
So many ancestors were sworn enemies 😏
Both Harry and Bill are my 26th GGF's.
, I'm related to King Williams as well, my
Grand father traced our family history all the way back to William the conqueror so I'm thinking were related thru marriage
Thru the last 1300 years.
My last name is Gage
Gosh was my ancestors name when they came across the ocean from England or Norway.
Nice story. But it is rather annoying that they forget to mention that that far up everybody has SO many relatives, that it isn't really special (specially since there weren't even as many people as now).
Just count yourself. you have 4 grandparents x2 to their parents. Do that 20 times and you have such a high number that is is just a statistical fact that you will be related to some one special. YES ALSO you!!!
I write this subject to correction, but is there a connection between the de Spenser's and the late Princess of Wales, Lady Diana Spencer? I've read it was the 'wrong side of the blanket,' as it were.
No. She was from the Marks and Spencer side.
Same as Frank.
What you learn about family , i would have never known they were family
Can you imagine finding out? That was your family tree .
WoW!
Super cool!
So Prince Harry was doing ‘shrooms at his cousin’s house😂
Well, hello to ALL my cousins in the comment section.
That's totally amazing
I would be interested in why her family left England. They should have had a large land grant here at the very least.
Since my line is same as Courtney Cox, I can tell you. Thomas Lygon (Ligon) came to VA with his cousin William Berkeley. Berkeley had been sent by King. CHarles II to be the first Royal Governor of VA. Ligon, who is our 9th ggrandfather was made a land surveyor and was a Burgess. He married Thomas Harris’ daughter, Mary. Harris had come to VA with Sir Dale about 1609. Harris was an Ancient Planter which meant he received hundreds of acres. It became known as Curles Plantation. This is a brief history.
I’m related to king Edward too and guess what?
That’s awesome
You are Royyyyalty honey. 👑
No wonder your feisty. 😂😂😂
Edward I is my 21st great-grandfather
Everybody is.
Wasn’t Edward the 1 Edward the long-shanks the brutal king of England.? Charismatic?
According to my family tree so am I
its a bit of a sham really. look at the math. you have 2 parents, 4 grand parents, 8 grand parents, 16 GG grandparents etc, etc. if you keep going back in time until you get to William or Charlemagne the list of "parents" on the list is greater than the population of Europe at the time. you just have to be selective which tree you follow to get to your desired relative
We are all descended from Kings.
YEPPERS THUS WHY CHARLEMAGNE IS CONSIDERED THE FATHER OF WESTERN EUROPE CUZ CLOSE TO 90% TO 95% OF PPL WITH WESTERN EUROPEAN HERITAGE CAN TRACE THEIR LINES BACK TO HIM & THRU CHARLEMAGNE (MY 41ST GREAT GFATHER) WE'RE RELATED TO COUNTLESS FAMOUS PPL..
She's another famous person on my tree
Oddly, at 20x great grandparents, there are generally one million of them, so who are her other 999,999 other grandparents
If she is related to William the Conqueror then she is related to Hilary Duff and to me
and all these great family trees are destined to end on brown dead ends if you know what i mean
No what do you mean exactly
I mean, considering how many 14th century aristocrats she's related to, this us almost guaranteed.
Wow being relted to ancient royalty
