SP&S 700 Cab Ride - 2011 Holiday Express

Here is a clip from the cab of the SP&S 700, taken on the Holiday Express 2011 train. This is departing Oaks Park, southbound, to the crossing before backing up towards OMSI.

What is the silver lever to the left of the throttle?

That is the drifting throttle. It is used to provide lubrication to the valves and cylinders while running when the main throttle is closed.
