The Silverton is like: Alright boys, we are going to take a train through the FUCKING ROCKIES, and we are also going to be on time. Amtrak: Alright boys, we have a mostly flat land and trains that can go 100 MPH and we are are going to be 6 hours late.
I have family that used to live in Durango but moved to Bayfield and when I went to Colorado twice to see them I rode on that train and it’s an experience I would recommend if you ever plan on going to Colorado👍

@@literaldirt actually they used to own it but they sold the Durango & Silverton a long time ago because the rent the Denver and Rio Grande didn't want to maintain it another person bonded and turned it into a business of the Durango & Silverton that's why it says a beautiful daughter

The silverton does not refer to a specific locomotive it just refers to the Durango and silverton railroad itself and they run K36 mikados 461 is a K27 not a K36

I have went to the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad back in July 3rd 2016, and later in June 2022. But I hope one day to come back again.
