    It’s amazing how a lot of these preservation trains have a Diesel engine on the front to provide the dynamic brakes and maybe help on hills but besides that they offer no support so basically the steam loco is pulling the diesel loco AND the train itself.Truly amazing!

      Yes
      The diesel train is also there to provide power to the cars
      All it does is give power to the cars

      Railfan Owen my most favorite steam locomotives are number 611 J Class 4-8-4 built by the Norfolk & Western Railroad and GS4 Lima built 4-8-4 number 4449 which is the Southern Pacific Daylight is my other favorite steam locomotive, both still pull excursion trains.

      @@christophers.o622 no, not really the most beutifull. Personally i think its way overrated. I would say RBMN 425 in my opinion, but whatever.

    Great railroad video with the right song, and the opening is ofthe Norfolk & Western J Class streamlined 4-8-4 number 611 which is one of the most beautiful streamlined steam locomotives that was ever built and it was built in the Norfolk & Western railroads Roanoke, Virginia shops. The Norfolk & Western was the king of steam locomotives.
