      For some countries the idea of getting food to take home is foreign to them, as in it’s not common for a restaurant to give a box. So they may not realize that basically almost every American restaurant has boxes for take home

    Tasha Homemade Banana Pudding is so easy to make. Put a layer of vanilla wafers flat side down in a pan (I use throw away). Then a layer of bananas. I then mix a layer of Jello Vanilla pudding mix ( follow directions). Then then another layer of wafers, bananas, pudding. Put in the fridge to cool.

    • @libertybell8852
      @libertybell8852 9 месяцев назад

      You should try a mix of banana cream and vanilla puddings! And I do a whipped cream/cream cheese/powdered sugar type mix in the middle and do a layer of pudding on that and do a whipped cream on top and my family LOVES it. 😋 if you are ever looking to mix it up, maybe try that. 😊

      I guess they only want the big restaurants with the fancy decor. I suggested a locally-owned family restaurant that's been in Cypress since the 70s. Not fancy enough, I guess.

      I agree that's a good general guide, but the top 5 seems to change year by year just for changes sake. It's also a general guideline and shouldn't be treated as a BBQ bible. The ones at the top are likely truly legit, but some towards the bottom could be fantastic most days yet the Texas Monthly crew happened to visit on a day where drastic outdoor temp changes affected the smokers...breaking in new employees etc. BBQ is extremely difficult to get consistent results every day year round.

    Also try the iconic Taste of Texas. It’s in the southeast corner of Katy Frwy & Beltway 8 on the feeder road. Traveling East or inbound exit onto feeder road just before BW8. Stay on feeder and just as you pass the intersection you’ll see the turn in to TofTexas. It sits back from the roadway. It has great Steaks because they will cut it to your specifications. However thick or big you want it. Really nice Salad Bar. A little pricier but a great fine dining restaurant. Owned by great people the Hendee’s. No I don’t know them. He used to be a radio host. She’s a Texas Historian. A lot of Texas memorabilia in the restaurant. At least there was in the past. As far as I know it hasn’t changed. Bye for know.

    If places don't have the giant Beef Ribs, go after everything else. If they have it, forget ALL OTHER MEATS. You should haven't any any room left! Brisket should be tried without sauce. Piggie ribs, with. "I'm really good at spice" - famous last words. Peppers change with the seasons - climate affects them - cold, hot, wet, dry. WHen you start frequenting TexMex joints with salsa ("Hot sauce and chips"), you'll discover cafes that seem to have changed their salsa recipe - no, it's just hotter with this week's supplies.

    I complain about Too Dry BBQ and Too Fatty BBQ. You're bound to run into a slice (or 2, 3 hopefully not 4) from time to time. I 'get tired' of the fatty sections and cut those away but good-enough sauce can ask the 'lean' or 'too dry' meat.
