Simply, you can't risk to destroy another country with your nuclear bomb, because they can also destroy you with their nuclear weapon. With the nuclear weapon no longer become ultimate weapon, all country military mindset will go back to the pre Second World War thought of conventional decisive battle.
EndWar was tough actually, but yes World In Conflict is another great strategy game that's almost similar to EndWar. Crazy battles/games I've had in that game. Memorable too.

Markus Schoening because of cultural ties Germany absorbed those countries because of their German history, Belgium was divided because southern Belgium is more like France where as northern Belgium is more like Holland.
Markus Schoening I know this old but I can explain, it's because the EF (European Federation) only allowed the rich European countries, the poor ones couldn't join, mainly Eastern Europe, the Balkans.. they faced a crisis and fell apart during this time and were eventually taken over by Russia as part of "their land".
Real life explanation: The graphic design team probably copypasted the map onto a futuristic looking filter. Meant to invoke a new era for Europe that's would also be vaguely familiar. In game however the E.F might be French dominated with its capital in Paris & a French head of state.

about the absence of china, india etc: it's a bit strange, but remember the generals tell you that you're in command of the north-west area of the world, so obviously something is happening in those countries as well, yet i would have liked to see china in the game. anyone noticed that at 0:52 some countries (as italy and france) have different borders?
And yeah, I know it shows that Eastern Europe in the game is under Russian control at the beginning of the game (Prelude To War), but thats pretty bugged aswell because Poland in Prelude To War is shown as a Russian when that is an EF country at the beginning.
yes me too. like i really like the fact that we can actually play as the europeans on equal foot with the americans instead of either playing as the americans or as some kind of minor faction supporting them.
SuperTechmarine It's the ethnicity plan, a plan to divide all nations to appeal the different minorities and then make all of them subordinates of the EU. The map is even more of a mess, with many more states the size of Kosovo all over Europe.

@RenkeFromCoast sorry to correct you. that are not the pre-1918 borders, that are the borders of 1940, with Austria, western Poland, the Benelux states and northern France beeing occupied by Germany. Seems like many game companies doesn´t really care about accuracy, like Westwwod in Red Alert 1. There was nearly the same mistake.
I remembered when I played this game after it got released, well... weapon technology didn't change much in 2022, Russia still use T-72B , BMP-1 to invade Ukraine. Lol
@@Propaganda9999 Are you sure about that? The trailer showed Ukraine light up blue along with the other European states in the formation of the European Federation. Minus a good chunk of the Balkans because they're never allowed to have nice things.
To be fair I think it was quite unique RTS because it was designed in consoles in mind, I would say as console RTS this worked even better than Halo Wars. The voice commands worked quite well, but in the end I ended up playing it just with controller as I grew tired of talking commands to mic all the time :D Imho the biggest problem of the game were just rather poor campaign and map design.
@PNDRazor (Sorry for another spoiler). Yes, it was an european orbital laser weapon that shot the freedom 4 but only because a spesnaz troop downloaded a virus that made the laser canon think that the Freedom 4 was an ICBM.

The Commonwealth becomes a single state, with India, Great Britain, Canada, South Africa etcetera all joining. The BRIC members except India becomed puppets of Russia. The European Federation survived until then because of the high investment in fission and fusion tech that granted them an high degree of independence from fossil resources, plus having under control most of Africa.
Look at Belgium: seperated, France: splitted in Vichy and German occupied territorylike after the surrender in 1940. In Eastern Europe there's not a single correctly drawn borderline, Italy is north-south seperated, Epirus is independent from Greece

this game would have been AMAZING if it had been PC only. The game was really held back because it had to run on consoles with their limitations......
