Nala really kicked butt out there, and Emma too! :D I'd also like to have more Emma in the show! Hopefully we can try plan some more trips together in the future
Absolute adventure. Many thanks Adrian for your exquisite cinematography. The wilderness and solitude of the Northern Cape is second to none. Your willingness to knowledge (& snack) share is admirable.
Great video! It is actually really refreshing to hear you comment on Emma's pathfinder about being totally stock, and you rightfully mention you can have epic adventures with a stock vehicle. So true and refreshing to watch an overlanding video that does not try and convince people you have to have a R70k full suspension upgrade to tackle these roads.
Absolutely! But I do still love my R70k suspension 🤭🤭 hahah! But it’s certainly not necessary, but for my work it’s great to have something super solid that I can do big trip after big trip and abuse my vehicle in rough terrains day in and day out, and be comfortable 👌🏻 but for the average person who does maybe one trip a year, the important thing is to get out there and do the trip, more so than cripple yourself with equipment anxiety, and my hope for this series was to do just that
Amazing to see one of my favorite car on your trial trip Nissan Pathfinder and Emma was doing quite good pushing that car very well, hence her car was a Standard, great job and I hope you all had a wonderful journey. Thank you very for sharing and showing the beauty of South Africa.
Spectacular trail! Awesome footage and I relate to all it as here in Australia, we have very similar country side. AND, our steering wheel is on the same side of the car!
Beautiful country side. Thanks for the bit of history as well. What incredible 4x4 driving looked mellow in sections then goes full blown into a scene that only Hollywood could dream of filming a Laura Croft Overlanding sequence. Binge watching a bit today BTW kudos for your cinematography skills.
Not sure how I’ve only recently found your channel, but I’m loving working my way through your videos. Most of my travels have been in the east of SA and although I’ve been to Namibia, I had no idea how spectacular the west of SA is. Hope to get there one day.
Emma's rig went up the quickest and I think she had the first beer?😀Is that solar on her canopy? Great to see a stock Nissan doing so well. Another tip-top video production. Well done team!
Hi Adrian, I love your videos and choice of music with your cinematic B-roll and story line. I am just scared that you will find this out too late but lately a lot of your footage is out of focus, or the background is in focus and your subject out of focus. It wasn't the case in previous series but in the latest it happens all the time.
Hahah don’t worry Paul! I know about the focus already. We swapped lenses in capetown and had to loan a new one when our other got sandblasted from filming, the new Len’s didn’t support Face detect autofocus on our camera, and the focus point seems to be a needle prick in the middle of the shot. So it is what it is, I’d rather share the story have it out of focus than share nothing 😂 but we love and learn. New camera and Lens for the next series
Hahah that’s it! I wish I could say I have a long time to work on the videos; but every week I tackle the editing on the next episode, so it always ends up in a rush, good hope just never felt right when I said it (but I’m in CPT at the moment so it must have implanted itself ) 🤭🤭 😂 we did check air filters indeed!
We are quite keen to know what radios you were using on this tour. During use it sounds quite clear and uninterrupted. This is often a topic that comes up in our discussions. Hope to you can comment.
Hey Daniel; I have a little kirisun radio in my car, simple 8 channel setup with a quarter wave antenna from M-Tech Connections; and Emma was using a rental handheld from Mtech. Worked like a charm for us!
Hi Adrian, Great video 👍 What does the complete setup of your car cost? Canopy with everything in as well as the shocks….. My wife and I are planning to get it done on our car
Hey Warryn! It’s a great high end setup; an will probably be in the region of 150-200k to get your vehicle setup like mine. 👌🏻 if you’re very serious about you can always pop me a dm on Instagram and I can maybe try help you out 👍🏻
Lots and lots of that 😂 luckily Andy is there to help a lot with that so we are not always having to use tripods, he can stand and film as we drive through 👌🏻
The fact that the trail you about to take has a church at the trailhead does that not give you pause? IS it a sign the trail will be SO rough it is a good idea to say a prayer before starting? !
Yeah probably; I would just find out about the weather and the state of the river crossings for the trailer; if its nice and try then I dont think it will be an issue, if its wet I would maybe avoid it with the trailer.
I believe greater Namqualand extends all the way up into Namibia; it translates to Land of the Nama Khoe people, so wherever they used to live is technically Namakwa land. Unless you mean that Pella is named after a city in Mesedonia.
It’s just our two vehicles; we stop and get out to film the drive by shots etc, or film vehicle to vehicle, so we might close together because we stopped and then drove etc
We certainly live in a spectacular country... Thanks for taking us along 🤝🏼
As a Nissan lover im glad to see a Nissan on the trail. Also Emma is a awesome. More Emma please. 🙏🏽❤️
Nala really kicked butt out there, and Emma too! :D I'd also like to have more Emma in the show! Hopefully we can try plan some more trips together in the future
Hi, Nissans are under rated especially Pathfinders but they are great 4wds. Am also a Nissan fan. Watching from Nairobi, Kenya.
@@ronaldodyra5799 agreed! we have a GU patrol and its great!
Thanks for sharing Adrian. Good to see this part of South Africa.👌
I’m amazed on what SA has to offer. We have such a beautiful country!!!

Looks like another great leg of your long road trip. Good one.👍👍

we did a trip all along the orange river for our honeymoon in our Nissan GU Patrol, it was great! we are loving this series.
Enjoyed your video very much, another place to add on my bucket list!! And I agree 100% with you, SA has so much beauty.
Beautiful country side. Thanks for the bit of history as well.

Binge watching a bit today
BTW kudos for your cinematography skills.
I miss SA so much. Amazing views and a great adventure. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy every moment!!

It’s amazing hey!
Loved this video bud, your production is world class!
Legend!
I am waiting for part2 all the way from🇳🇦
Part 2 will be out next weekend 🤟🏻🤟🏻
That’s in essence what this channel is all about.
100%
Nice video. I did over 120 trips through the Northen Cape before moving to New Zealand. Different wilderness here.

Love the video 🙏🏻🥳

She is a monster at setting up her camp! And inflating her tires…. What can I say? I guess I need more practise 😜
@@RoamOverlanding Quick hide the magnums!
so bloody beautiful.
Great video and some thing new. Cant wait for next year when we take it on. But will be with off road caravans.
That’s going to be great fun!
beautiful content....❤
Thanks a lot 😊
Nice!
Nice 👍
Please can you share how Emma had her compressor on a remote. I would love to do the same to mine. Great idea.
I need to figure that out for myself. I’m going to try and get her to reveal her secrets
Hi Adrian,

太棒了!
Hope you guys regularly checked the air filters. And the small place you mentioned is probably Goodhouse, not Goodhope ;)

You all need a Scrunnel Funnel for those fills from the gerry cans
I’ll have to do research 🤭

@@RoamOverlanding Fantastic and thank you for responding. Love your trips and good luck with many more 👍
Enjoying this series! Quick question, how does the Redarc sense the water level? Is there some kind of sensor you insert in the tank?
Yup! I have 5 little sensors drilled into my water tank 👌🏻
wow
Hi Adrian,

Thank you, awesome to see.
How do you do the filming, must be a lot of going backwards and forwards to set up cameras and pick them up again?
Lots and lots of that 😂 luckily Andy is there to help a lot with that so we are not always having to use tripods, he can stand and film as we drive through 👌🏻

Adrian can I do this trail with my Conquerer Companion I drive a standard Ford Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 with rear airbags to support the trailer
Yeah probably; I would just find out about the weather and the state of the river crossings for the trailer; if its nice and try then I dont think it will be an issue, if its wet I would maybe avoid it with the trailer.
Thank you so much 🙏
Hi 👋 Adrian well shot n edited 🫡🫡
What’s the name of the song that starts at 30:10’
a song called mountain air on Artlist I think
She is impressive.
What happend to the "Groot Melkboom" ??
We didn’t visit there this time around, it was booked up! will have to see it next time.
💀🤙👍
Since when is Pela in Namakwa land ???
I believe greater Namqualand extends all the way up into Namibia; it translates to Land of the Nama Khoe people, so wherever they used to live is technically Namakwa land. Unless you mean that Pella is named after a city in Mesedonia.
What was the camera man driving ??? I think she followed too close most of the time... on camera
It’s just our two vehicles; we stop and get out to film the drive by shots etc, or film vehicle to vehicle, so we might close together because we stopped and then drove etc
When we were not filming, I was hanging back about 50m most of the time, because of all the dust on the trail.
very contradicting about Emma filling her Vehicle.
Oh?
Guess Anthony's referring to Emma's small frame :)
