    In the past I've heard a song or two by Rush, and didn't put to much thought into them. But a few weeks ago I finally decided to give them a chance, so I listened to their first album; that same night, after hearing that first album and digging it so much, I literally listened to all of their albums in order. Such a fantastic band.

      TheAgnosticBuddhist I agree, a great guitar riff band. My partner and I just got done with a business meeting in which we decided we need to do more Rush, so watch for more Rush in the future. If you have not already subscribed please do so and you will not miss it. Thanks for your comment.

    great lesson. I'm sitting in my car before work watching it without a guitar in site and I could probably go home and play it from memory because the lesson was clear as day, easy to understand and was right to the point. I'm a subscriber now. Thanks for the lessons.

      @@ShawnStaplesFreeGuitarLessons 3 decades back, my guitar buddy was always playing Rush when I could barely write chord songs with the circle of 5ths.

      Jordan It is a weird Korean brand guitar with titanium parts. I borrowed it from a friend for this video and it has an unusual sound. I can not remember the brand. If you want to know what brand it is I can find out. It is a solid body.

    • @ShawnStaplesFreeGuitarLessons
      @ShawnStaplesFreeGuitarLessons  6 лет назад

      What happened in this video is a low amp volume and titanium hardware on the guitar is what gives it that sound. The main thing is the information is correct. Thanks for your comment.

    is sliding from A3 to A5 different than hammering?

    • @ShawnStaplesFreeGuitarLessons
      @ShawnStaplesFreeGuitarLessons  5 лет назад

      Not sure I understand the question. There are only power chords in this video, if you can tell me what the timer counter is at on the video I can see what you mean.

    • @ConClavi
      @ConClavi 5 лет назад

      mark 1:45

    • @ShawnStaplesFreeGuitarLessons
      @ShawnStaplesFreeGuitarLessons  5 лет назад

      I do not understand what you are asking. I looked at 1:45 and it is totally explained. This whole video is easy to understand and I am sorry you are having trouble.

    • @ShawnStaplesFreeGuitarLessons
      @ShawnStaplesFreeGuitarLessons  5 лет назад +1

      I know what threw me off, you are asking about chords. What I am doing is playing a C note and then hammering to a D note. You can slide it if you want. There is no A3 or A5 chord at 1:45

    • @ConClavi
      @ConClavi 5 лет назад +1

      Shawn Staples Free Guitar Lessons thank you, that what I meant and I am sorry if I mislead you. Great lesson

    is that a Gibson? which model?

    • @ShawnStaplesFreeGuitarLessons
      @ShawnStaplesFreeGuitarLessons  8 лет назад

      +Stereotypical Goth No not a Gibson, it is a Korean Guitar company that uses titanium parts and a thin body. It has a unique sound like no other guitar I have ever played. I borrowed this guitar to shoot videos with. I used to know the make and model but it has been awhile since I used it and can not remember. Thank you for the comment and I apologize for not knowing fully the answer to your question.

      I recommend a wah pedal. Probably need to make some other adjustments. This is very much a stadium rock sort of sound. I have a setting on my Mustang GT200 amp that basically is the exact tone. I would look into a wah pedal and probably look up how to get a stadium rock guitar tone.
