And, as Ruth Beder Ginsburg argued back in her day, the abortion issue is not only about the freedom of women but about the impact on their partners/husbands who often go through terror when their female partners wives are hemorrhaging in miscarriages but not allowed to have an abortion which could save their lives and/or make them possible to have a healthy pregnancy in the future. The whole issue of abortion freedom is a man and a woman issue - a family issue.
I don’t think men get now they too have been rendered useless in being protectors and hero’s to their wife and family. Their right to help their women receive help was taken. Men are natural hero’s and protectors. Why is this ok with them? So they not

Calling it abortion rights is not as useful as calling it what it really is, an issue of access to medical care during pregnancy. Elective abortions are only part of it.
We are seeing the consequences of the abortion bans - doctors are going elsewhere to avoid risking arrest and the end of their medical career if they provide necessary timely intervention for ectopic pregnancies, difficult miscarriages, fetal death, incomplete fetal development incompatible with life outside the womb, injury or illness of the mother requiring treatment damaging or fatal for the fetus, etc. The road to birth for a fertilized egg is a rocky one and most conceptions undoubtedly do not result in a live birth. Many are lost before a woman even knows she is pregnant. Terrible things can happen later, even late in the pregnancy.
Letting the government interfere in medical decisions concerning pregnancy has been resulting in delays until the woman is closer to death from the complications (basically an involuntary game of chicken), or forcing the birth of babies who are either stillborn or die painfully soon after leaving the womb. Imagine if the law said that a malignant tumor could not be removed from your body. That's why the woman has to be the one to make such decisions - the zygote, embryo, or fetus is part of her body. Her future health and fertility are at risk when things go wrong. This unalterable situation means that no one else can make that decision.

So much the view of the court lacks insight into the biology and value of women's lives. Even the medical establishment has viewed women's bodies as a complication difficult to understand and rather an afterthought they have been reluctant to give the attention and respect required for equal treatment. Women's bodies are more complex than men's bodies. That is not a reason to consider them less than the bodies of men.

At the rate things are going, and so widely publicized, I can't believe that legal professionals involved in all of his issues aren't ready to distance themselves from him by expediting things and denying things that help him delay things and allow him to continue to claim innocence and persecution. I completely understand the need to be very careful as should be the case for any accused person, and especially with the huge microscope on this situation, as well as the important need to minimize chances of appeal or overturn.

Pete Buttigieg is an amazingly smart man. I live about 10 miles from where he was Mayor and he did great things for South Bend Indiana. He’s a Harvard, Rhodes scholar and one other. I’m 71 so not likely 😂 but I haven’t been this excited since Obama. I lost my ass under trump for just about everything my husband and I worked 50 plus years to save for our retirement. I was able to regain my losses under Biden plus triple my portfolio no easy task, Trump also killed my husband because he didn’t know how to protect our country during Covid. And the question of the political nature of the DA's "deference" has precisely _nothing_ to do with the thoughts and views of the DA and his office. Rather the question can be put "coldly and objectively": Does keeping damaging information from the electorate until after the election favor Trump politically? The answer is equally objective: Yes, financial maneuvers in 2016 favored Trump politically by keeping the hush money information from the electorate, and yes, judicial maneuvers in 2024 threaten to favor Trump politically by keeping the sentencing memos from the electorate until after the election.
The political nature of the DA's position flows from its _consequences_ not from its _motivations_
The DA may be as politically pure as the driven snow, but his deference here places him among the legion of others who insist on *not* treating Trump like any other defendant, but, rather, place him in the "rich white" tier of American justice. It ought to stop. There ought to be accountability now. The DA and "Last thing" Merchan are involved in the political process and should be made to hear the democratic and just demand of the citizenry: sentence him & lock him up!

So refreshing to see the DNC moving forward and embracing the younger leadership stars that will guide the DNC for the next twenty years or more. There could be no other perfect time to reset and re--arm their democratic message.
Not just to get it into SCOTUS, but to get it to Speaker, and attorney, Johnson, who used his legal skills and participated in the 2020 attempts to keep DJT in office despite his loss, which was confirmed by 60+ judges including many DJT judicial appointees.
It’s a joke they can’t nail one single person with all the evidence they have. The only people are judicial system has been able to bring justice to the January 6 people. All the wealthy people in Congress all the lawyers that help Trump everybody that was involved and trying to take over the 2020, no one has been punished and we the people have received zero justice. I’m just so disgusted.

I still don’t understand how Trump gets all of his appeals done before he ever gets sentenced. How do you do that? Can I do that? That would be a big. I would be sent off to prison and then wait five more years for my appeal.
