    This is just brilliant! "Oh ! and dont shoot birds that obviously should not be shot" "Too low, definitely somebody elses, unless you know them, then its funny" This cracked me up lol and as a shoot captain for the last 15 years I have lost count of the times I have said the exact same thing to the novice gun, just much funnier hearing someone else say it.

    The ethos of game shooting is the same for the beaters....have fun and interact with your fellow beaters....have a laugh, have some Sloe Gin, have some Port, enjoy yourself....but also do what is expected of you...Turn up dressed for the occasion, do your part to the best of your ability and you will be asked to come back again and again, you will always get a brace to take home and become part of an amazing community....to be honest there is nothing quite like it!!

    • @HJDore
      @HJDore 5 лет назад +2

      Alex Outdoors
      Step one-get your section 1 fac (deer calibers will need to be on said license)
      Step two- find a piece of land that the owner allows you to shoot deer on (permission)
      Step three- confirm with the police that the permission is a suitable and legal piece of land for deer shooting.
      Step four- go out shooting the deer that are in season.
      This list is incredibly watered down but gives more detail than just “get a license and go shooting”

    Hi, I have 150 bird day booked as an individual gun (+8 other guns), it will be my first time taking part in a formal driven shoot and was wondering how many cartridges to take as I hear it is bad form to run out!, I think the first drive is ducks and the rest of the day is pheasant. (keep up the great work with your channel very helpful with all the info and equipment reviews)

    • @Reckeeto
      @Reckeeto 5 лет назад +1

      Muzleflash1 In my experience, I always tend to take more than I need, but of course if you can't use them elsewhere that may be a problem. For a 150 bird day between 8 guns, I would say 75 is enough, 100 is plenty.

    • @tgsoutdoors
      @tgsoutdoors  5 лет назад

      It depends on how good you are with a gun, I have been on a 50 bird day where two guns did 100 cartridges each between them!
      I always take as many cartridges as there are birds on the day. So in your case 150. If in doubt, Chuck a slab in the gun bus. At least you can help someone else out if they run out.
      Where abouts are you shooting?

    OK,......game shooting in the UK. You also have a very deep pool of used guns that are exceptional over there. We Americans do not have that ...........used gun market.
    Shooting fashion for your country. It is a well known and established fact that one must wear........this and that.
    In the US, we wear clothing that is more workmanlike than yours. We also have to put up with the blaze-orange craze of so many inches of coverage for safety.
    Because we have a bunch of numb-nuts that shoot at anything that moves in the woods.
    I like wool, but in deep thickets I use tin-cloth and impregnated canvas. My Filson chaps are 10 years old and show no wear from all of the thickets of rose bushes, brambles, and other problem flora that I have slogged through. In driving rain, I have yet to get wet from wax impregnated canvas. It may be stiff,.......it may be hard to move in in low temperatures, but it gives me the best protection.
    The thing that puts me off on going over to hunt in the UK is the attire and the snobbish looks of the gentry as they see the American in his hunting garb.
    We made our clothing to repel nature with its weather and thorns to give us a mostly dry skin under all that clothing. We used the materials we had to hand. Canvas has been used for centuries on board ships to keep most of the water off of you. Canvas with a wax treatment works in the fields to keep the briars away.
    This is the snobbish kind of sh#t that I bit#hed about on another channel. I am not going to spend another $400 on CLOTHING JUST SO I CAN FIT IN!!
    If the shoot demands that I wear this type of clothing,..........I'll go to Ireland. Where they don't care what you wear.
    You younger crowd have taken-up the snob.
    4:24....100 plus cartridge bag? OK....over there. In America,......one box of shells. You are limited to 3 to 4 birds for a limit per day. Unless you go to a game farm or hunting preserve. Then it is how many you shoot for the day by the farm.
    10:38......loader.........maybe because I do not know the etiquette of the field or the country,......but loading for me........left hand buries itself in the pocket and comes out with two shells in between the first and third fingers. You will not let me have an auto or a pump gun in your fields so I must do the left hand stuff.
    Tell me where the birds are coming from? I can hear them or see them. How dimwitted are you people?
    The guides must be rolling on the floor after you people shoot for them. I truly believe that the more educated the English person gets, the more their common sense shriveled-up and died.
    And then they get belligerent when they think people do not take them seriously.
    I fart in your general direction.
    Shooting culture........
    15:42.....It is around talking with people and trying to see their point of view. The X-Box gen will never see this. Anyone over the Boomer gen will not see or appreciate the nuances. It is another language that school never taught you. You will be snubbed and shoved to the outside. As an American would be. We are the uncivilized idiots from across the pond.
    Unless you have made a name for yourself worldwide and have multi millions to spend.
    16:15.........How much does it cost to do a shoot of 200 to 300 birds?
    The person in this vid must know people or he has money from daddy. It is too expensive for normal people to be able to go on a one day shoot.
    Yes ....drop him an e-mail to go do a shoot. He will make a few quid and be able to go on another hunt sponsored by his peers.
    Listen you........most people in your country can't afford to go on a shoot ! The ne'er-do-well types are the only ones to be able to do it. And the idle rich.
    I would like to see this thug shoot live game. I have seen him shoot targets.
    I knew a 14 year old that was a terror on the trap and skeet fields, but when I took him out to shoot real game he wilted like a 5 day old cut rose.
    Bring your high-end gun here and let me set-up a shoot for you. You will scream mercy within the first mile. Blowdowns and razor sharp briars. Aspens so thick that you can't get through if you have a pack on your back. Oh yes,.......wolves.
    Temperature extremes in September from 52 F to 19 in the same day.
    I FART IN YOUR GENERAL DIRECTION!!!
