Note: To emphasize the point, RIPL is not a function you would use when it is only you are designating targets. It is designed to be used with another designation sources like a flight member or JTAC.
Hey Wags.. I know you may never see this, and I'm 14, but dcs has really been a dream for me and the new apache module is the greatest gift I could have ever recieved and its the first step for me to making my way to becoming a helicopter pilot myself in the future. Thank you (:
Hey Gergely, I am active duty military and a pilot, I can tell you with confidence in my experience that coming into the military with previous aviation experience will give you a HUGE advantage for being able to actually fly in the military. If you plan to become a military pilot, go get some civilian flight experience (any local flight club will do) in either fixed wing or helicopter whichever you plan to do , and much of what you will learn will be applicable to your knowledge base for when/if you want to translate it to military aviation!
Well I must congratulate you on what I saw of the map. As soon as I saw the intro I said to myself “that looks like pleasant peak” which overlooks Mount Pleasant Airfield. Then you switched to the cockpit view and you were looking right at the hanger where I worked. It’s a bit odd seeing the pan I used to park jets on being attacked 😳
@@MattWagner the hanger houses a c130 nick named the timmy hanger ;) did some scaffolding onit last year bloody cold... not sure why I said this but hey oh everyday is a school day haha keep the tutorials coming wags, much respect. o/
Re-visiting to find out if there is a way to ripple-fire the AGM-114L. Todays update allready gave me some of the best experiences in "old) missions. Not sure if related, but today, I also have great graphics performance. Looks good, and plays fluently. I'm finally "home! You can't imagine the joy that alone gives.
Thanks for the video! Quick question, where is ED currently with the FCR? Is that an upcoming feature or is it further down the road when the rest of the Apache is finished?
Awesome Wags! On a different subject, if I may ask… what are the plans to improve AI ATC, JTAC and AWACS behavior? Kinda tired of “… Climb 300 on QFE…” :)
That would be useful In SP if we could set wingman to lase targets. And this video could show firing Hellfires with letting JTAC lasing multiple targets from a column
@@Steamthrower1 I know and I dont expect to happen soon, but the video would make much more sense with AI JTAC which can switch to next target instead of manually changing the laser code after each shot :)
Unless there is some tactically important reason that we are not understanding this is a feature that will have almost no use for us in SP. Some details might be better left inoperative so the resources can be used elsewhere.
So, I'm a mostly casual DCS Player - I fully admit that I have the most fun in the FC3 planes for example... but I do enjoy/feel pretty competent in the Viper, and lately I've been having a lot of fun in the Black Shark. I've always loved the Apache IRL, and frankly I would rather fly on the "blue" side in campaigns etc so I'm considering picking it up in the current spring sale... but the more I watch online the more I worry that the Apache is going to be akin to the A10 in terms of learning curve and systems management, and I know that I'll be playing 99-100% solo without a human CPG. That being the case, does anybody have an opinion on moving from the Shark to the Apache in terms of difficulty/systems management? At the end of the day I feel like it really only takes a few key buttons and a little bit of knowledge to start flinging Vikhr's at the baddies in the Black Shark; how much harder is it to learn basic hellfire stuff in the Apache for example?
That's a stretch, the 64 can lase for other 64. I wouldn't expect the kiowa until at best second half of the year. Polychop only has a couple guys working on it.
??? There is nothing here that suggests ripple??? You can however ripple all day long from LOAL. Satisfying to hit TRACK radar then SEARCH radar few secs later.
Note: To emphasize the point, RIPL is not a function you would use when it is only you are designating targets. It is designed to be used with another designation sources like a flight member or JTAC.
Wags you really need to gather some friends for a video like this. Having another bird to spot and lase while you ripple would be an awesome sight.
Especially when say the Kiowa pops in to help out.

You’re going to become a helicopter? 😂
Jokes aside, that’s cool!
Hey thats great but I think it is better to become helicopter pilot instead of helicopter yourself...

Neat new feature...interesting and rather unique rock formations there too.
Any ETA when we can switch between seats in MP?
Took like 2 years for that f14.. so I wouldn't think anytime soon.
@@kdcustoms1272 F14 isn’t an ED module.
Looking forward to using that with a JTAC.

This module got me into the ka-50 I’m addicted to it now
You're so dang good at hovering. I hover like a drunk person when cops make em close their eyes and tip their head back.
Mate...
He had George AI do the hovering for him.
Thanks for your job. I hope we can have the Apache in the free 14 days trial soon.
I'm jealous of that hover
I use that technique in the fa18. Selflasing plus jtac. Have half of the bombs on my code and the other half on jtac's code
Falklands!!! HELL YEAH
I see what you did there :P NO HUMAN IS THAT GOOD AT HOVERING! love it!
When can we expect the hold modes to be implemented
also lovely job keep it up :)
Nice feature, and quite handy also if there is a JTAC. And Malvinas looking good.
Yes, see pinned comment.
are you planning to upgrade the radar control as well?
laser designating is cool, but I would like to use the Longbow. :)

@@MattWagner thanks, glad to hear it.
Hi Matt! Could you make a video tutorial on how to create cinematic videos? For example how in the trailers? Thank you very much for your reply
There are much more qualified people to make such a video.
Thanks for the video! Quick question, where is ED currently with the FCR? Is that an upcoming feature or is it further down the road when the rest of the Apache is finished?
Later in development.
The upcoming South Atlantic map looks marvelous!
No... not really
yeah it really doesn't lol

Mount Pleasant / Falklands of Razbam ?
Yes
South Atlantic map? :)
Yes
The first map where you put latitude with S instead of N prefix when you adding waypoints to your flight plan.
Nice detail using the Army Air Corps Apache over the Falklands! Just needs the FCR fitted (AAC never removes them) and it'd be perfect.
Your voice sound so familiar...did you do any tutorials in Flight sim?
Nope

I found the AH-64 fast to pick up and get going compared to other study type aircraft. And George is pretty easy to use mainly just for the hellfires.
It’s not as hard as it looks, really.
Where autpilot hover modes?
It's being worked on.
Thanks Wags, looks like I might have to start joining online servers soon :) Doubt the AI wingman could cope with that?
