Yes because you can either pretend to have good stuff or actually have good stuff. I personally think that owning copies of things is actually quite disrespectful towards the originals creators. I don’t care if Louis Vuitton charge whatever for their stuff, I won’t buy it. But I’m also not going to pretend like I want it by owning fake copies of their things either.

Years ago, 2009 to be exact my friend bought a vintage LV bag from Liberty in London. Only to get it valued by LV to find out it was a fake!! So her dad made a complaint and LV took Liberty of London to court over selling a fake!!! 😅 (update, for all the questions. LV took Liberty to court, the item was a vintage from the 80’s and was even on display in own glass stand. I went with her to look at it, I didn’t know she would buy it. Her father is from Taiwan and owns a golf course out there, so he has money/ connections. She obviously got her money back, I have no idea what happened with the law suit (was in London) I know that Liberty apologised to her father and blamed it on their buyer. 💁🏻‍♀️ so when you buy a vintage bag always get it valued.

The reason why bags like this exist in rotation and population with a little inconsistencies, or slight errors, is because they are known for providing a certain service. Their items need to be stellar, so in the factory, if an item is inspected, and it does not fit their mark of proficiency they are discarded, but those discarded items are usually get sent to other lower chain stores or shops and people think that they’re fake like many in this comment thread but they are an actual authentic item just with minor flaws that the company deemed not to live up to their superb expectancy for client purchases

First off, absolutely you may spend your money how you choose. However, it’s important that you know that counterfeit bags are used to fund human trafficking as well as drug and arms trafficking, terrorism and other illicit crimes. Legitimate companies may not be a shining example of morality, but they’re nothing like organized crime. Beyond the huge issues of trafficking in illicit goods, the items are ALL made in child labour or woman labour facilities. Children are stolen from their homes and forced to work until they die… they’re raped and often lose limbs from factory injury as they’ve had no training and are using machinery that requires it. The women are raped and impregnated to ensure a perpetual loop of undocumented work force… the facilities are rat-infested and smell of death. At the end? These women and children are thrown in group graves… Finally, the items themselves are made of materials that do not follow any codes, so lead seeping into your blood stream from the handle of a bag? You got it… much of the fancy leather treatment is done with mercury bc it’s cheap…. Another fun cancer-causing metal entering your blood stream…. So please remember, when you’re carrying one of those knock offs, you are responsible for the rape and pillage of children and women in 3rd world countries, so you can look “cool” or “rich” or whatever your reasons are. Maybe you simply Like the bag? Buy an inspired one. There are ethical dupes of so many bags out there…. MK, Rebecca Minkoff, etc. Fine with the above? Then still buy the knockoffs, because I do agree with you-that’s your right and I support your right to make that choice. But, it says a lot about a person who can support the above for a bag.

When the obviously fake one she purchased came in…i looked it over alongside the authentic one…then took them both to a separate LV Boutique to see what they had to say… after 2-3 hours they finally ID’d the correct as a fake. Also I’m not paying thousands for a bag anyways so if someone gets conned that just the price of dealing in that world where your just paying for a brand name

It actually should have been in the brown bag, since AH is the manufacturer location 3 and 8 symbolise the 38th week out of 52 and the 1 and 6 means 2016. So in 2016 they were still using brown bags and the Capucines was introduced 2013 F/W. I had a feeling it was authentic since some of hotstamping on Taurrilon leather can be difficult and quality of the stamp depends 😅. I used to work in LV and there is another way to tell if bags are authentic, but that’s for 2019+ LG’s only

People asking if it matters if it's authentic. It depends. Are you just gonna wear this bag out and be done with it? Buy fake. If you try to sell it you must say it's knockoff or you could be charged with fraud. Charge knockoff prices. Like if you paid $80 then you can't expect more than $50.
If you're looking for an investment piece that you'll take really good care of and never really use/keep in decent condition, you'll be able to profit or get your money back. Depending on the quality. If you keep it like new then you'll likely make a profit, depending on how long you wait. The cheaper and more there are of the bag, the less it'll appreciate and it'll take longer for it to become a rare piece.
And finally, if you want a high quality bag that is unique and high quality, get a bespoke bag, they were handmade and will last forever. I think that's a better investment in a bag you can use.

Only issue is when people purchase genuine keep the receipts and send back 1-1 copies for a refund or credit note.. I'm a collector/seller of a certain brand and even with Certi logos and art numbers etc the 1-1 copies are literally direct to the genuine, Certi works as they just go to stores take pics of same season CLG and sell them to the copiers in China who transfer to the 1-1.
22 years I've been buying and selling and even I got fooled with a £22 copy of a £250 item. Right down to the small stitch details and hidden marks the original manufacturer's hide.
Now sold the stock I owned and just buy off close friends, can't even trust high Street stores in reality now it's getting scary good how well they copy items now.

I have actually witnessed someone who got an orange shade box with brown bag even saw the proof that it had infant been purchased from the lv website there was an actual note in the box explaining the reason for the brown dust bag, as far as I could work out the item my friend ordered should have had a the opposite colour box but they supposedly ran out of that specific box colour at the warehouse his item was dispatched from literally to this day it baffles me how a company so big could run out of that specific box in one of its warehouses but the fact he had the receipt and order confirmation from the lv website proved that the item he bought is authentic

Also the orange color is a lot brighter. More pale? Muted tone. Also he's right about the bag the purse comes in.
