Just binge watched the show and this is EXACTLY my thoughts. It's like he was cut straight out of Fargo. They're vastly different types of shows but you can easily find some little similarities like this.
Sure but when he refers to the mom who got strangled in the book it could be interpreted as a reference to the threats the Dark Army made earlier and their last meeting was a horror for Dom she couldn't forget. Plus he is someone who look liked a guy that enjoyed every seconds of the ruthless, sadistic act on Santiago and in intimidating Dom. So we don't know if he wanted to play with her again a bit. There was a lot of bad guys in this series, but you could understood the nature of the gangsters, the dark army members or even White Rose. They've become ruthless and evil guys due to a lot of stuff. But this guy was the worst. Kill, threat or hurt someone was like a simple day in the office for him, but later we got to know that he was in sick relationship with White Rose and enjoyed sadistic acts. Plus he was doing these sick stuff like it was natural and acceptable and the ones who cannot accept it has the problems. I've seen soulless characters in shows but this guy is even more terrifying than the most of them because there is no context why he is like this what is motivating him to be a ruthless, cunning, calculating, sadistic piece of s*it without any kind of moral dimension and being absolutely content about it. White Rose had a goal. The Dark Army guys were soldiers. Vera was a drug addict and had problems with his rational thinking, but Irving was controlled and rational to the degree of a machine. The only character was this sick is the wife of Tyler but she couldn't hide that she is an evil sadistic woman but this guy is just a random bit geeky but cool guy who would have a chat with you casually and in the next second he is killing someone or commit any other sick crime without giving it a second thought or making a big deal out of it.
@@csakegybolond264 everything you have written is the reason why i wanted him suffer fate worse than death ,so gruesome that it would scare even his soul(if he have one),i mean that's the point of building a loathsome character and don't get me wrong i like him as character cause whenever is on the screen the scene gets really interesting but there is something call pay off or more like conclusion to a character ,also i don't buy they were keeping it realistic argument since they have done fair amount of unrealistic things
@@papageorgioumoritzmonk8166 It's kinda ironic because Mike's character in BrBa existed only because Bob Odenkirk (actor who plays Saul) couldn't film the last episode of the second season. Originally he was meant to be both a lawyer and a "fixer". So in a way, Irving is kinda what Goodman was originally supposed to be like
I wish the scene of Dom's airport conversation about not being able to go to Budapest with Darlene would be uploaded onto youtube. The backround music in that scene was 👌
Irving feels like a character that would fit in perfectly in a season of Fargo.
Exactly, i sometime feel like this show and Fargo has somewhat similar in tone
Just was watching fargo viedeos and here i am looking up this dude LOL
Glad someone thinks like me!!!
Yeah, he’s straight out of a Coen Brothers/Tarantino film

I was so happy that this scene happened. I laughed after every single line of dialogue.
I like that Dom thinks he's threatening her even though he isn't just because he always acts like this, including when he's murdering people.

I feel like Irving would be a badass character in a GTA game
I wish we had more of Irving at the finale season 💔.
Same, I really loved his character
Irving > Janice
No question, everyone agrees.
Damn, he has Dominique completely dominated. At this point she would do anything he asks her to.
*wink
bobby is a blast in that role
