Some of my gardening enthusiasm was lost when we lost Steve AKA Green Side Up it's coming back RIP Steve.
❤
Im sowing my winter seed on Friday and hopefully can get a video made too for that. Great video Steve, lots of good tips pal
And here's me thinking I was the only one daft enough to sow seeds in August - I better get my compost out! Really interested in seeing the komatsuna (?) - sounds like it can make a substantial meal. Come on Steve we're going to have to see a few cooking videos!
Yes I'd like to see a few cooking videos too!
Brilliant
Thanks for info on seeds Steve, great video 👍
We miss you, Steve!
Thank's Steve! 👍
Just subscribed to your channel Steve after watching this great video. I’m a keen (used to be professional) gardener etc, but you never ever stop learning from others. This is what life is all about, sharing, helping and looking after each other. Thank you for your tips and advice to keep those veg going through the quieter months at the allotment, and kitchen garden. All the very best, thanks once again and let’s hope we get the rain they are forecasting👍🏻.
It’s easy for me to sow seeds but it’s the pricking out and space to put them all that’s the problem but none the less I will be sowing I have sown some already
I think I’m done sowing for the year now!
Just order 7 packets of seeds from premier seeds excited for them coming. 😁 love your Chanel. 🤗🤗🤗
Brilliant gave me loads of ideas for my allotment xx
Enjoyed the video will be sowing very soon always keep up to date with your videos big thanks Steve BA94 Ireland
That's a very comprehensive list of seeds Steve, and I will definitely be taking from this!
Thanks for sharing mate.

Woody 👍👍👍
Hi Steve, great video abpit sowing seeds with lots of information. Thanks for sharing and take care 🙂
I will use a finer sifter from now on for better germination. I might still be a better gardener; new with vegetables since I just raised roses and succulents.. Thank you.
Maybe you could list what zone your in so we would know if this pertains to our zone?
Sorry, I pressed Enter instead of Space there lol..
As i was saying, you will have plenty crops this year. My plot has been a failure this year but I am already sorting out stuff for next year.
I'm also still up for a visit to your plot someday? :)
Thanks Steve, a fabulous video. Very encouraging as always.
Just had a look at Premier seeds direct and amazed at how cheap they are. Thanks for the heads up on this company ♥ 😁
Hi great video again!!!! Do you net your giant winter spinach over winter please ? My first time growing it 😊 Many thanks
great video with lots of good advice
Informative as always Steve ,i got some mushroom trays and started sowing my salads in them this year ,what a game changer ,i haven't bought any salad all summer and have lots still to come ,also working on having salad for over winter and sowing lots like you .
Steve i asked on Tony's show tonight but he missed it you where talking about buying compost jan/feb from garden centres I've found i get the best deals before Christmas as they are all looking to make room to set up their Santa's Grottos etc only a thought
That's not a bad shout, November time? Usually have the Christmas stuff out for a while before Christmas don't they?
@@paulcashmore9093 Even October be on the look out
Good point.. Particularly with the inflated prices right now ☺
Hi Steve, I've just subscribed to your channel ☺️ thank you for the inspiration your knowledge is amazing. We have two plots in the UK and we converted our back garden into veg garden as well so plenty of work. Your tips are very useful, thank you for your hard work!
Fab vlog 🥰
I've not had great germination this year and might try a view late carrots as I have less growing in the beds and I decided to leave it as it was late to try again so this video changed my mind.
So what do you think the differences are between wong bok and park Choi etc.
I’ve never grown Wong bok
Hi Steve, great info regarding seed sowing. re Coriander sown now…… when is it likely to begin harvesting, does it continue through the winter, or is it still succession sown, can it be sown most of the autumn/winter (frost dependent of course) and should it now be grown only in the poly?
What Squash are they in the tunnel Steve? I’m assuming that’s what they are….I only ask because out of my 6 plants I have 1 butternut. Not sure if a) dif variety b) the heat c) the soil is too manure rich or d) dunno…. I usually get around 30 so I’m pretty gutted 😞
👍
My Pak Choi keep going to seed. I am in NW Highlands so no heat wave here.
3 trays...Do you not mean Uno, dos trays :)
Which compost do you use? I love your videos, between you and Huw, I've learned so much.. thank you 😊
Hi Steve,
Have you ever grown a Cope Gooseberry, and what do you think to the idea of sowing the seed now and over wintering to get an early start given our short season.
How fine do you sieve the compost?
If you are eating it all you really shouldnt stop sowing and for example sow 10 corn a week from the time temps hit 80. until end of july.
