    Hi Anna,
    Thank you so much for making this video almost done with community college and trying to decide whether Social work is still for me.
    After my associates trying to get my BSW and MSW at Stockton which is a public four year school in NJ.
    I'm not sure if this is true but I heard it's not good to be emotional as a social worker.
    Thanks for this awesome video again :)

      I think being emotional is only natural, how u deal with your emotions and your resilience, all which can be improved upon, is what's important

    Hii!! I am a junior year in high school thinking about BSW. The reason why I wanna become a BSW is to work for the foster care system and be a social worker who fights for you because I am a foster kid myself and I had a social worker who was biased and wanted me to go back to my biological mothers even though she wasn't stable enough. she would lie about a thing like saying "They don't love you" "They are use you for the money" and telling the foster family when the court date is unlike my social worker thankfully my family works with the law and my dad sister told him when I had a court date. Anyway sorry about my rant. I have a question about the classes. Do you have any classes you would recommend I take for this major if so what are they???! I know I shouldn't be worrying about stuff like this but I just wanna be prepared when the times come.

    Hi! Thank you SO MUCH for this video. I am transferring from my cc in fall of 2023 to get my BSW. I was just wondering about course work specifically like are there a lot of exams? Or just more so papers like you mentioned. Exams stress me out and I know there will be some but I was wondering how much hard core memorization is in the course work itself

    • @AnnaBea
      @AnnaBea  Год назад +1

      woohoo!! glad this video is reaching its target audience. AND EXCITING that your BSW is coming up!! In my experience, there was not a lot of memorization at all. The main workload came from readings, papers, and discussions (and the readings were to add to the discussion - not to pop any reading quizzes on us). The most memorization for me came in clinical classes (like remembering what specific diagnoses are called, the symptoms, etc). Any DSM-5 classes will have memorization and maybe some quizzes that come with them, but it is more than likely that that would be more in master-level classes than in BSW classes. and even then, you talk about the disorders enough that most of my class remembered them just from being exposed to them so often instead of needing to do vocab flashcards or anything lol
      Let me know if you have any other questions as you go forward and good luck!!
