He imprisoned and later immured his father. Kashyapa was also known as Pithru Ghathaka Kashyapa (Kashyapa the Patricide), after this incident. He was later defeated by Moggallana, who had fled to South India and returned with an army to regain the throne. Kashyapa was killed in the battle that ensued, kashyapa not Sinhalese king!!!!Sinhalese nationalists confuse the history and claim the history of another race as their own, which is the Sinhalese King. Prof. You just said a factual inexactitude (a lie). The campaigns of Parakramabahu were all about his wars in South East Asia and South India which yourself elaborated on. Our problem was the lack of innovators like Henry the Navigator in the ruling class to give leaderdhip. Even now they do not allow 'diyasenas' to come to the scene. These are 'jaaththyantharana kumanthrana' in Wimal's words.
The subjects are not interested in innovation and conquest, they just need full bellies. so is the nature of the society.
