@Filip Kasprzyk Hi dear Filip, i am a huge fan of Canopus drums, and once when I was checking some videos about the Canopus yaiba bop kit i saw a Mela video and I was blowing away by his playing. But these days i'm focus on Ferenc Nemeth and Éric Harland drummers and Lionel Loueke and Joey Alexander musicians ;)
Thanks so much for watching clips of Live From Here, if you enjoy this checkout Chris Thile and Punch Brothers new musical variety show, The Energy Curfew Music Hour. Season one is streaming here: bit.ly/ecmh-season1
“Mother? Are we in Lake Wobegon yet? Where’s that funny looking gentleman with the glasses?” Marcus Gilmore. What a brilliant musician! Just saw him with Metheny and James Francies. Amazing!!
This is a great performance!!!I'm old school so for something in a similar vein, minus the laptop lol ,check out Flora Purim with Airto on drums live from the 1970's.
The thing about Marcus, like his grandfather, is, to me at least, it looks so effortless and sounds so good. Not boring the audience with an insane drum solo, yet smokin' at the same time.
Yeah, they have this delicious effortless dynamics in the drums. It's an energy, a vibration. It's a certain lightness of touch but with an increasing dynamics. My favorite drummers are the ones that have that: Roy, Marcus, Jack DeJohnette, Ranjit Barot, Jeff Ballard.
For those who don't know 1) Marcus Gilmore is Roy Hayne's grandson 2) Marcus Gilmore is one of the very best drummers in the world today
true!

Been a Marcus Gilmore since first discovering who he was a couple years back. Seeing him on LFH was a great treat. Fun rhythm and creativity.

RIP the great Shaun Martin
Marcus is so amazing. One of my favorite favorites
Great stuff. Always a treat.
looks like he has all the time in the world to pull off this tricky stuff .imagine the head room
Simon Stuart
It’s basically all he’s done since he was 10 years old. That and go to school.
Holy sheik, what a performance!
Marcus Gilmore is the best drummer alive, change my opinion...
You're right.
He certainly is in that stratosphere. I think Antonio Sanchez and he share that realm.
@@reh331 I'd say Blade rather than Sanchez. Anyway, Marcus is the king.
Yeah dude...
Mark Guiliana

Jude law is pretty good on that mandolin.
Reminds me of “Havona” by Weather Report, or maybe early Return to Forever.
Also Mwandishi
what stick does Marcus uses on this live? i thought he uses his own signature on Innovation Percussion but his using Regal tip here
Marcus Gilmore has been the most sensitive as well as lmore has been the most sensitive as well as the bizarrest drummer since his debut.
Shaun Martin make the keys sing.
