Did you make it to Fisherman's Wharf and see the "bushman?" It's a guy that dresses up as a bush and scares people as they walk by. hope yall had a good time.
That was a cool day! Mary, do you see where the expression "thick as pea soup" comes from. 😘 The shops in Sausalito were nice. Alcatraz was so interesting!
Hahaha, Mary thought it was ironic that I asked how her pea soup was and she said it was really thick! That soup was so good, they have it on the menu at the Dutch cafe, so you can get it anytime. I wish it were a better day in Sausalito, it looked like such a beautiful town, plus bus tours don't give you much time, because I was hoping to have more time at Alcatraz too.
Many years ago I lived in San Francisco for a year up on Russian Hill (Vallejo Str) and could see Alcatraz if I walked up to the end of the street. I never did visit the island, just saw it from afar, and was happy to see your video with all the fun neat things there. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
It's amazing how many people on here have lived or still live in California. Alcatraz looks so ominous just sitting out there in the bay. I am so glad we took the tour, I would love to do it again on a nice day, when we could spend more time there. Thank you ☺
I love your pictures of my city by the bay 😻 yeah it is foggy in San Francisco especially this time of year , if you go in land its usually pretty sunny 🌅😎 most of the year even down right sunny haha, i lived in Discovery Bay a hot spot ❤
A lot of people from the cruise were from California and they were smart and did the vineyard tours. Honestly I don't know how the weather would have been outside the city either, it was that BIG storm that hit the whole upper Northwest. We need to go back in the summer 😉
That weather looked so dismal that day, but you had fun. Did you see any plant stores? I think Larry would love to see Alacatraz. Thanks for sharing. Very well narrated.
The weather was awful in San Francisco, good thing it was such an interesting place. We didn't see plant stores but at the end of our trip we went to a market. Alcatraz was great! I wish we had more time there, it would have been great to explore more. Thank you 🥰
✍Hello Alaskan Lady Bears and fur babies🐾🐾 All of the things you're sharing is very interesting. That's the purpose of a jail...harsh living for the crimes they chose to commit. You could use your "hair dryer" to try to try and dry some of your damp clothing. I'd probably be taking Dramamine instead of eating. I get motion sickness. I was supposed to go to England with my grandma on a big cruise ship when I graduated high school but that never happened. The last time I was on any kind of a boat or ship was about 20 something years ago going over to "Put in Bay" I know that's no comparison to what you're experiencing. Enjoying the vacation videos. Good Night😴 God Bless LuvYa! Bye from NE Ohio🌹 Stay Safe and Warm
Hello, hello! Yes, I honestly think that jails should still be like this! Our clothes actually dried pretty fast, but my hair was all kinds of fuzzy from the humidity. We didn't need the Dramamine any more thank goodness. I love Put-in-Bay!!! It's a fun little island! I regret not seeing the crystal cave while I was there. I am glad you are enjoying the videos, good night, you stay safe and warm too. Hugs from us Bears! 🥰
I wondered about that, I didn't think we would be able to dock the water was so rough. I can see it being closed for weather. Otherwise they said it is only closed Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Year's Day. I am so glad we got to do the tour!
The weather was awful, who knew we would hit a storm. I dream for one good cruise, LOL. Our room service was always a surprise, that's for sure. They were good about fixing things though, but salt in my tea... 🤢 The Dutch dinner was amazing.
I have worked in 2 prisons as a nurse. And they aren’t much better than this. There is no heat or air conditioning. It is better if you are in county lock up.
Ok the impression of service for food is quiet sad. Alcatraz in today’s date would sound very barbaric but the price to pay for crime is not like going to a five star hotel retreat either. When I went it felt like a cloud over me, heaviness sort of like ghosts were there. Those Thomas Kinkade art pieces are always so beautiful.
Yeah, I think the food service was overwhelmed, I can imagine with a lot of elderly people on board they probably give them a run for the money. Alcatraz is very creepy, I can't see why the natives would even want it! I feel like it's cursed. Yes!!! The artwork is so beautiful, I wish the camera would have caught the texture better. ❤🥰❤
@ omg! Yes could you imagine all the specific dietary needs of all guest and insuring safety 😵💫. BUSY staff. Oh I know what you mean about the art texture. I’m always waking by it here at the park and daydreaming of owning one one day lol
That is my one regret now that we didn't go to LA, like we had planned. But then again, I would feel more connected to it and it would make the whole thing soooo much more sad 😥
Looks fun
Oh YAY! This looks like so much fun. We got married on the beach in Sausalito long ago.
Thats fantastic 😀 ❤ 🎉 how beautiful 😍
Sausalito was beautiful in the rain, I can imagine how beautiful it would be on a nice day. What a place to get married 💕

Been to San Francisco twice, never got to go to Alcatraz, both times it was closed. Thank you for taking me on the tour.

Salted tea? Oh dear! 😮
It was nasty!!! Even if I tried it on purpose it's definitely something I would never do again 🤢
@AlaskanBearsVlogs I learnt not too long ago that some people put salt in their coffee! I've never been brave enough to try it though. 🤔
I put salted caramel in my coffee and chai tea, but just plain salt is nasty!!!
@@AlaskanBearsVlogs Yeah, I don't think I will be trying it anytime soon.
Dang, I was cold watching you. Your room service was disappointing. Your dinner looked good.

I hate it was so bad weather.
We didn't appreciate it either, especially with Mary not feeling good, but it all worked out.
I have worked in 2 prisons as a nurse. And they aren’t much better than this. There is no heat or air conditioning. It is better if you are in county lock up.
I have seen some prisons that look like resorts, eek. But yes, our county jail in Michigan was pretty bad not so long ago.

Something it doesn't do in South Cal........rain
They had gotten a lot of rain the last couple of years, it would have filled those storm water basins 😥
Good thing you went when you did…wouldn’t be much left after the fires…
The fires are in Southern California, good 4 hours away.
That is my one regret now that we didn't go to LA, like we had planned. But then again, I would feel more connected to it and it would make the whole thing soooo much more sad 😥
