You guys are superstars!! I am on day 111 carnivore today. I am 45 years old and want to get to live a lot longer. I saw my doctor a couple days ago and couldn’t believe i lost almost 60 pounds in such a short time. Blood pressure was normal and all other aches and pains are gone. Blood sugar never fluctuates and as good as can be. Into fasting now as well.

What a wonderful interview Larry and Bob. I loved hearing not just about your carnivore journey Bob but your life story. Good luck to you and your wife on your new carnivore journey.

Hey Bob, good luck to you and your wife! I’ve changed from keto (low carb) to carnivore about 3 months ago, didn’t think I could live without the veggies, occasional fruit, nuts, seeds, fermented foods, etc. I’ve had so many additional benefits: better sleep, energy, clarity, never sick and the simplicity is what I like the most. I do plan to add some things back in as Larry suggested, but right now enjoying this “experimental phase”.
There are some hurdles and adjustments along the way for sure, mainly your level of healthy animal fats (also butter) and your salt intake will/ should increase to start with and determine any digestive or electrolyte issues. Some folks get off their meds very quickly, so be aware especially your blood press. meds within days could be necessary. And don’t be surprised if you don’t need to have a BM every single day, usually that will depend on how much your body absorbs from the high nutrition of the meat, foods you eat and your fat intake. At first I had the runs, after a bit too dry (sorry tmi - almost like pebbles) 🤭 but when you are “fat-adapted” and dial in on everything for your body’s needs, it all becomes 2nd nature. Do your research on oxalate dumping, just in case you do have some of these symptoms. Your body will be releasing lots of toxins (plant and otherwise) that have built up over decades. There’s so much to learn, but so much to gain. Would love to hear how you’re doing from time to time. Just listen to your body, eat as much as you like, really - the best strategy is what Dr. Berry always says “Eat until comfortably stuffed”
My favourite foods now are beef (maily ribeye), eggs, fish, butter, tallow. Still coffee, cheese, cream . . . just not as often. All the best, you’ll do great, no worries! Cheers from Switzerland

Another ribeye guy! =] I find that it's not worth the high price (at least where I live). I'd go for fatty ground beef - a much better price. Maybe add in ground pork? Sometimes that's a fair bit cheaper. Or chicken thighs? I also eat a lot of egg yolks - a powerhouse of nutrition and good value there. I can also often get beef fat for a great deal, so I'll make tallow liquid and still eat what remains! Otherwise, I found some good sardines that I don't mind, and oysters (high in zinc), and liver from time to time.

@@H4KnSL4K I totally agree! Actually I eat ground beef (mixed with pork) often and sardines are also a staple. I’ve got to find a good butcher/ source of beef fat, to make tallow. But I’m making lots of bone broth, gulasch-soup, even beef jerky. All so tasty and satisfying. And yeah, the ribeyes cost more, but since I’m not buying all the crap anymore - I really love to treat myself to one almost every day. It’s still cheaper than anything I use to eat as a meal (of course home-cooked).

I started keto 12-01-19 after watching a Dr. Berry video the night before that addressed many of my health problems. I cleaned out the kitchen as he directed and never looked back. 🤗

Hey Jodi, great to hear from you. I think there is real power in cleaning out your kitchen. It kind of draws a line in the sand and is a constant reminder you are serious

FYI - cheese though not ideal is dairy and technically STILL carnivore Larry. Great interview. Great to see someone aged 80 willing to change.

The longer I’m on carnivore, the less spice I want to use. I’m basically use Redmonds salt and some pepper sometimes these days. I’m a carnivore of one year in February. It seems your tastebuds want you to eat the food naturally.
