    and about tibet, some people have the fantasy of tibet that it was a prosperous and autonomous state before 1950. the truth hurts. before 1950, Tibet was merely a society based on feudalism and slavery, a few elite leaders owned Tibet. what the government have been doing in Tibet is to build infrastructures, improving the local economy and standard of living.

    • @JeffDeWitt
      @JeffDeWitt 10 лет назад +1

      Better, jets have lots of moving parts, on these things pretty much the only part that moves is the train itself!

    • @coldisopropyl
      @coldisopropyl 10 лет назад +3

      I have faith in the future of trains replacing regional jets. Trains are more environmentally friendly and tickets are less expensive. As well as the procedures of boarding are much more less strict and efficient. I think China is going to be sooner to implement it than the US where both are geographically large countries.

    • @JeffDeWitt
      @JeffDeWitt 10 лет назад

      C Johnson I'm not so much concerned about the environmental issues (which are much overblown) but trains make far more sense for regional travel. Maglev trains could even compete with jets for longer trips, at 300 MPH it would take about as long for a Maglev to travel from New York to LA as it usually takes to fly.

    • @noxis93
      @noxis93 10 лет назад +1

      C Johnson The current aim in Europe is to make trains more attractive than planes on any journey under 500km. Taking in consideration the location of train stations, the low safety risk trains provide, departure time being virtually the same as boarding time and the whole ride being by far more comfortable than an airplane ride (you can have a walk at any time, no chance of chop, etc...) and possibly more entertaining also (cellular lines coverage nearly everywhere, wifi being accessible on some trains, large windows offering the chance for everyone to see the scenery, not just to window side seats) it's not hard to understand why so many countries are rediscovering the charms of train travel in a modern and faster key.
      I believe that when technological evolution brings down the costs of building such lines, we'll ditch not only >500km air routes but also cross continental air routes and change them for a fast, comfy and by far more safer and environmentally friendly maglev ride in a vacuum tunnel underneath the ocean.

    One third the time, one third cost of a taxi. Love the Maglev.

    • @JIM2oob
      @JIM2oob 10 лет назад +1

      One note - beware underground taxi's at Longyang Rd. Station, they rip foreigners. They approach foreigners with luggage - don't let them take it. At destination (usually ones hotel) victim is hit with an outrageous fare! (Remember, the driver has your luggage 'hostage' in his trunk). Use regular taxi's, the ones w. roof beacon, driver cage, licence/ ID displayed and a fare meter. They're cheap. Cost of Maglev train - 50 yuan or 80 yuan round trip (good for 7 days).

    • @潘朝智-c4f
      @潘朝智-c4f 10 лет назад +1

      JIM2oob Or, you can also transfer to the Metro Line 2. Usually, the official taxi have uniform decoration and very rarely the driver charge extra. However, for the private car, since the government forbade its commercial use, the private car transporting passengers is taking risk but they also charge more. Whatever, it is very convenient to find public transportation alone Longyang Road.

    Completely agree. China is China, and as any country in the world it's far from perfect. But no matter what people think I also believe you have succeed to take a huge step from where china was 30 years ago or so. Things doesn't change over a night. Every country and politic agenda has bad sides. China is far from alone with that. What we can see however is that the lives of common people has improved dramatically during the years. Sure some side effects are to follow, that's completely natural

      Okay... Yes Yes Yes. Chinese trains are fast as a bullet. They are glittery. Beautiful. Modern. Hygienic as a bloody military OR. But, I prefer the US trains. Yup. They are creepy fun. On a Chinese train you get from point A to point B in a sneeze. Instead on a US train, they are so slow that you can see how your clothes go out of style. On a US train, you can fall in love, have children and watch them grow up. On a US train you can read Tolstoy's "War and Peace" twice. On the US train you have time to learn another language. U see? US trains are exciting. They are Noisy. Stinky. Rusty. Smoky. Full of Graffiti. With vomits of all nationalities. From Mexican enchiladas to Japanese sushi. The US train is Thrilling like a horror movie. On the other hand, on a Chinese train, you get on, you sit down and Nnnnñit! You have already reached your destination. What kind of shit is that? Did you pay a ticket and for what? Where are the murders, the harassing cop, the swindlers, the drug addicts, the international spies, the sadists, the psychopaths, the sexually depraved, the Mormons, the exhibitionists, the Loco...? No. No. No. I rather to risk my life on a US train, but have something exciting to tell my grandchildren.

    As an American it hurts to see the US left in the dust. Where's America's mag-lev train?
    Wasted the money on wars and tax cuts for billionaires.
    Which has left the country broke and lost.
    The only people with the money or political muscle to push for such a system don't care because they have private jets to take them where they want to go.
    And the less people who travel the less human and economic space they have to share with others.
    Meanwhile China is making plenty of room...for Chinese!

    go google kanji, before kanji were introduced to the Japanese from China Japan were a nation with no written languages. Part of the reason the Japanese love Romance of the three kingdom so much is because it actually recorded the existence of Queen Himiko, if it weren't for China, Japan had no way to proof that Himiko actually existed, because they didn't have any writing system at that time.

  • @YoutberUser1212

    It has to go over 300 km/h at least half the time to be the world's fastest train. The TGV went 571 top speed, but most of the time it runs only a little faster than of half that. Shinkansen also has a top speed close to that, but most of the time runs much slower. This train needs to go 400 km/h at least some of the time to be considered faster than the TGV, ICE, and Shinkansen. Average speed is what counts. Top speed is not what these trains run at with their passengers.

    well, thank you very much, but i feel i am a free man and i feel pretty comfortable(Chinese colleges suck though) in my country just like when i am here in US. The China controlled by nationalists( or pro americans,or kuomintang. now, they are known as the government of Taiwan) before 1949 was a dictatorship as well, the gap between different classes were even much more severe. Most importantly, people did not have the rights to criticize the kuomintang government.
