It is reported that in 2024, China Railway Group will complete the manufacturing of CR450 prototype vehicles and conduct type tests, which are expected to be put into use by 2025.
On January 10th, the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong reported that this development marks a breakthrough in China's CR450 technology innovation project launched three years ago. The experimental operating speed of CR450 high-speed trains will reach 450 kilometers per hour, and the commercial operating speed will reach 400 kilometers per hour, making it the fastest high-speed train in the world - it only takes 2.5 hours from Beijing to Shanghai.

@@yuethanng3047from what I know, the speed was just limited because acceleration to 430 km/h consumes a lot of energy for just reducing travelling time by two minutes. From economic side of view, this is fully understandable. This track is just too short to show the real potential of this train, which is designed to run over 500 km/h. By the way, all the companies that were involved in this project still exist.

For some of the people in the comments here praising Chinese technology:
You are wrong. The technology was invented in Germany in the 1970s however it never got used there outside of test routes. Instead the people who invented it selled it to China, where Maglev trains were constructed on the basis of the German plans. Even the trains itself look 100% the same as they did in Germany. An old friend of mine worked at the project back then, he even got a model of the train given to him by their Chinese business partners in return.
So yea it’s nice that Maglev trains get actually used, and China has obviously improved the technology for some of their newer maglev projects but please don’t praise people for inventing something that already existed 50 years ago

China picked up what the west threw away and started researching it, in many fields they did so plus they nurtured technology spies everywhere and there is no denying that they worked very hard, for example the Ukrainian aircraft carrier Varyag, China bought this piece of iron and made it a model for their future ships, you can't copyright it, it's not like youtube, that's how everything was made in china, I feel that in front of a maturing china, the Europeans and Americans who are the real owners of more than 99% of scientific inventions, the technologies that create everything we use every day are now tired,

all those magnificent structures are not sustainable.
They need to hire many cheap workers who are earning us$300 a month to maintain.
And also, those management staff, technical workers are very cheap too.
If those people have choice, would they continue to work like that for lifetime?
