    I'm excited to see how it compares to the adizero sl 2

    I'm glad to see you getting a few shoes sent to you. It should allow you to test more and get them before release. As a mid foot striker, I like 4-8 mm drop because I want enough foam in the forefoot. However, differences in the foam and geometry can change how the drop feels. The Hyperion Max (8mm) and Noosa Tri (5mm) feel almost the same to me.

      thank you! and yeah i made a video about that a while back and i saw doctors of running posted about that recently too - the rockers for me especially can make a huge difference with how the drop feels. but with anything 8mm and above it usually makes me scuff that heel extra hard hahaha

    Yowana runs a long way away from his camera, a lot. Props to the effort of having to go back to get camera so many times!!
    Love the edits and one of the best. 😊. Great shoe info as usual too.

It’s a figure of speech😅 we all know how busy Yowana is from his studies, business, running, youtuber, family man… and yet, he still manage to rack up tons of mileage weekly just to give us his personal views on each shoes. Really don’t know he joggle all this on a weekly basis😁
      so should we expect a 100-mile review after two weeks then?😅

    I love that colorway, but to each his own. I wish it had Continental rubber. Nice review, as usual.

      yeah continental is great but I've had good luck with the standard adidas rubber in the SL. And I love the green color on these - just wish the upper were white or grey. In general I don't buy black running shoes unless they're the only choice haha I have a pair of black vaporflys and that's it

    It must be so much work to set the cameras for the shot where you run by. Do you leave them there and come get it on the return trip, or do you have to turn around immediately, then do it all over again? Kudos to the effort required to film a vlog.

    Adidas has had a lot of trouble giving up the gimmicky junk in their midsoles..main reason I bought the SL2 was to get away from the plastic or some other gimmick in the midsole..also adds weight to the shoe and makes them way to stiff..I completely agree about the heel drop and now don't even look a anything with a drop more 7mm..5-6mm is the sweet spot for me ..anything more puts extra strain on knees and hips and if you aren't already a heel dragger the higher drop will make you one..the worst one I ever tried is superblast..like the place you have to run ..besides the sounds of the woods I am a shade guy and don't like running out in the sun..I used to take some of mine in the running stroller when they were young too..

    • @dorins3787
      @dorins3787 6 месяцев назад +1

      Lower drop puts extra effort on the calves and ankle. Higher drop on the knees. Energy needs to go somewhere on your body.
      We are different, I prefer 7-8mm and it is harder for me to accomodate a lower drop due to biomecanics and muscles.
      Also, drop can be dynamic or static. The static one is the factory number. The dynamic one depends on the foam. Eg softer foams without support elements will compress more if you heel strike.

    there's not even a price difference here in norway between the boston. at least not full retail price, but i would expect the supernova to have half-price deals at some point whereas the boston will maybe drop 20-30% with very limited sizes when it does.

  • @leftcoast50

    The adidas website added the Supervova Stride, Supernova Solution, and the wide version of the Supernova Rise. The Stride is lower stack, but I can’t figure out what the difference is between the Solution and Rise.

    • @supwell
      @supwell  6 месяцев назад +1

      the solution has even more stability than the rise - thicker base of EVA foam on the bottom in those support rods. they are positioning it as their new stability daily trainer

  • @QronoZ713
    @QronoZ713 6 месяцев назад

    I have an opposite opinion to you, I think this is one of the most flexible shoes on the market. The forefoot is crazy bendy. I have about 200 km on the SN Rise.

    • @supwell
      @supwell  6 месяцев назад

      Oh that's super interesting - maybe it needs some break in. I'll include an update on that once I get some more miles in it

  • @runzization

    I dont think any of these can unseat my default trainer in the Pegasus 40- the best middle ground for everything even gym and Durable React.
    The other i had on radar was newest Ride 17.

    • @supwell
      @supwell  6 месяцев назад +2

      The Peg is such a solid reliable shoe. I used mine a ton last year and it always performed how I needed it to no matter the run. I'm interested in the ride 17 as well - I'm testing the Mach 6 soon and may get the novablast 4 but want to get some miles in the ride 17 at some point this year as well

    • @runzization
      @runzization 6 месяцев назад

      @@supwell yeah Ride 17...I'll be on the watch!
      Also was actually intrigued by TNF Altamesa 300- a supercritical foam RTT hybrid.
      I actually have the Vectiv Enduris 3 and really grown to love it!
      Geek out/Long Story- I was a big fan of Pearl Izumi Run series shoes and TNF has employed those engineers. The rocker syst is rather unique in that it's a really low mm drop at heel but then from midfoot to toe it's 6mm. It keeps things nimble while efficient so it doesn't over stress as somewhat common with lower drop

  • @femaciel
    @femaciel 6 месяцев назад +1

    I know its a different daily shoe, but how would you compare it to your so beloved Mach 5 in terms of use/purpose?

    • @supwell
      @supwell  6 месяцев назад +2

      This feels heavier with denser foam, also much more protective with better outsole (no rubber on the Mach). Mach 5 has a more aggressive rocker/rolling sensation and I liked it a lot for high end speed - I need more miles in the supernova rise but out of the box it does not seem like a shoe I'm going to enjoy running 5k pace/5:30 miles in. I d think the supernova rise will be much better for 2+ hour runs though - Mach didn't have enough support and cushion once I took it past 90 mins

    I rotate the Boston 12 and AP3 in my training, but I'm thinking of adding a shoe for my slow easy days. Is the SN
    Rise a better option than the Adizero SL, or something like the 1080v13? I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thanks

    • @supwell
      @supwell  6 месяцев назад +2

      1080v13 would be the best option out of those for relaxed running days. the adizero SL is much firmer and feels best when running fast. the supernova rise didn't feel as cushioned and comfortable as the 1080 - 1080 is one of the most comfortable shoes i've tried

    How much extra effort does it take to push a stroller on an easy run? Does it feel like pushing a lineman sled and more of a leg workout or does it still "feel" like running, but just a little slower?

    • @supwell
      @supwell  6 месяцев назад +1

      with the right stroller on flat ground, it feels like running but a little slower at least for the first hour. going uphill and once i pass an hour it feels like more of a workout

    What is best walking shoe for you : 1080V13, Vomero 17 or Supernova Rise or something else?

    • @supwell
      @supwell  5 месяцев назад +1

      My favorite walking shoe is the brooks ghost max - it has great cushion and support without being too squishy. The 1080v13 is also a super comfortable shoe but some find it a little too soft for walking. The Vomero and supernova rise are also great choices. Supernova rise is a little more padded and cushioned while the Vomero has a bit more groundfewl

    How come almost every shoe reviewer out there sounds dismissive if a shoe doesn't have a race day feel to it even if that shoe weren't designed and built for that purpose?

    • @supwell
      @supwell  6 месяцев назад +2

      one of the reasons i tested this shoe with the stroller on the first run is because i was thinking it would have more of that comfort-oriented, relaxed feel i like for daily miles when i'm not doing a fast workout. this was a super confusing one for me because the top-layer of PEBA has just enough pep so that it didn't feel completely at home for relaxed running, and then the chunkiness of the heel and firmer layer of EVA on the bottom also made it awkward for faster running when i threw in some pace pickup. my goal with reviewing shoes is to find that one thing a shoe is best for and i'm still not sure what the intended purpose of this one is - hoping to get clarity with some more miles. btw, if you're looking for a great shoe that doesn't have a race day feel, my favorite right now is the new balance 1080 - here's my 300 mile review ruclips.net/video/nNBpQ65XgZk/видео.htmlsi=R5JI1iIZ0LFoOKQ-

    do you find the need to size down with adidas compared to the other brands? do these have the same fit and sizing as the boston 12s?

    • @supwell
      @supwell  6 месяцев назад +1

      i go 10.5 US in every shoe unless a brand says to size up/down (this only happens with smaller/new brands like norda, so i am 10.5 in all the mainstream ones). also i'm in the office right now and just popped both shoes on to check - the fit is nearly identical but the supernova rise is much comfortable and padded compared to the boston 12. but you should be good in your same size here if you decide to get these. my plan is to get more miles in the supernova rise this week so lmk if you have any other questions i should answer in the tests i do
