  • Hi RUclips folks. Got another long-form live stream that I did on my Facebook Page. We touched into a lot in this chat, and I started off by encouraging you to join my email list so that you get my updates DIRECTLY from me, rather than always relying on social media - so head to my site, www.irenelyon.com. I also spoke to the utter importance in working with our nervous system right now, more than ever, and why this is not the time to ignore, deny, push down, and tap away the intense somatic experiences that might be surfacing, or re-surfacing, for you in our current global crisis.

After 1 year of constant stress at a prior job, I developed gut issues, muscle cramps, hypertension, depression and horrible breathing episodes that felt like I couldn't get in enough oxygen. I even got bell's palsey that paralyzed the entire right side of my face that lasted 1 month. After tons of research, I decided I needed to first, quit my stressful job the go on a clean anti-inflammatory diet and suppliment to reset and heal my gut and nervous system. I also drank electrolytes periodically. It all worked. After 2-3 months, all of my symptoms went away. The thing I did wrong was to stay at a stressful job too long. I can't say it enough, eliminate stress as much as possible. I personally know how damaging it can be.

Thank you for mentioning religious teachings/schooling as a source of trauma. Just about everything else gets a mention but that.

I just started your 21-day online course. Your work is just so amazing, and I feel so happy that now I believe I can heal my trauma :)

Amazing video, thank you one more time, Irene! I love that you bring up the topic of "societal trauma, religious trauma, educational trauma.." and all kind of trauma that is originated within the systems we live in. That's one of the reasons (among many!) that I love Gabor Mate's perspective on trauma and how he speaks about the role that the systems we live in (education, health care, religion, financial, etc.) play in the creation and perpetuation of trauma.

I was lucky to get rid of agoraphobia in one session of Ericksonian hypnosis. Agoraphobia is the worst fear I have ever had. I have had a ton of different anxiety and phobic episodes since but never agoraphobia; that is my bottom line: I don’t go back there. I hope! It has not happened in twenty years.

I like so much youre videos. Because you explain all. Im physiotherapist working with cerebral palsy, I know a lot about nervous system. But I realized that always yi have a lot new to learn. I had a lot of trying to get better fast, because Im intelectual oriented, and I didnt realize how much Im disconnected from my feelings, sensation, body. Everything. Ive tried hypnosis, it got me worse. I tryied talking therapy, bioenergetics, rheiki, deep meditation practice, changing beliefs, I mean everything. And yi got to starting point. Lost a lot of money, time, everything. I hope that I will attend youre 21 day tune up program. I must say that Ive found Somatic Expirience, and EMDR therapist, and finally something is shifting. But I hope that Ill have the money to attend youre course. Thank you so much

Hi bebaaskaful, it's great to hear that Irene's videos have been helpful to you, that you've found practitioners who are supportive and that things are shifting! It sounds like Irene's course will be a lovely complement to what you're already doing when the time comes. - Jen from Team Lyon

I was wondering about something! So I had burn out, been running away for it for years, traveling, staying busy etc. This year I totally burnt out, so far that I couldn't exercise (even though I am athletic and usually work in outdoor adventure sports), I let myself rest, I got very depressed. Now, 9 months later, I still get really intense depression periods (diagnosed bipolar), but I feel like I come down from it faster. I learned various things to go through it, although I am not sure if I am just "forgetting" it faster, or getting regulated faster. But it FEELS, like I can handle more, come down from it, also to the point that I can challenge myself again a bit to socialise (also social anxiety). Thank you for the video's! Thinking of doing the 21 day programme :)

Hi moortje26, Jen here from Team Lyon. What you describe sure sounds like signs of growing regulation!
The 21 Day Nervous Nervous Tune Up might be a great fit based on what you describe and I'd encourage you to trust your instincts. If you want to hear about what some others experience as they do the program, check out this page: irenelyon.com/tuneup-success-stories
      Here's to growing regulation!

What do you recommend for me i am currently trying to heal my POTS i heard you mention in the video but not sure if the 21 day online course would be sufficient or the 12 week? Please let me know what you recommend

Hi Jenna, Jen here from Team Lyon. The 21 Day Tune Up can be a great place to start and way to prepare for the deeper dive in SmartBody SmartMind, and often the more comprehensive work is needed for those of us with chronic illness and/or early trauma (to name a few).
Irene's Drop In classes can also be a lovely complement to both. There's one this weekend. I'll ink to the info on that, and also to a video Irene did about healing adrenal fatigue (AF) as the info about working with the stress organs can apply here too.
