@@TurbulentEitri I highly disagree with Chimera, the tone was way off and smells like ESG. A bit too nice since everyone is fine with living alongside the horror creatures. Whereas XCOM 2 was more hardcore with a faction that ate aliens and being able to make armor out of them.
STAR-15 was in one of the earlier trailers and I think MICA have confirmed that the AR team survives the events of GFL1 which gives me hope the Sopmod will return.

THIS IS SOO HYPE!! I've never gotten into GFL 1 (but I made decent progress), due to phone limitations, but I'm getting a new phone in December as well!! I'm so excited to try and be a day 1 player! I've always really wanted into the GFL fandom, and now I have the best chance to do so! Wish me luck, I'll be diving headfirst into GFL 2 and into GFL as a whole!!
you should check out reverse collapse: codename bakery (only pc afaik) and neural cloud (if you have the spare time). while neural cloud is a spin off, reverse collapse is directly involved in the gfl story and plays out even further ahead than gfl2. you may want to have played ch12 of gfl1 tho
As a 4 year GFL1 player, dont play the game. It will take you alot of time to get meta characters to progress, also the last major story event comes out in like 25th December. I highly suggest you to just read the uploaded video footages of the visual novels.
I've tried to keep myself completely spoiler free for GFL2 but I hope they don't do away with the great 2d art that the first had. The atmosphere and backgrounds were second to none.
If you think about it, it's been ten years in-universe. If the Commander was (reasonably speaking) 18 years old at the conclusion of GFL, he's a 28-year-old man now. If he was older, he's probably in his mid- to late-30s. The girls don't age, but he does. That lends a rather tragic note to everything.

This game doesn't even have impact frames or even half the amount of detail that went into just the attack animations like ZZZ does so I wouldn't say it's better lol (but it's still really impressive)
