Thank you, Matthew! I got a lot out of this. I can't for the life of me free the ball joint bolt from the lower control arm on my 2010 XT, and it never occurred to me to remove the sway bar link for some reason. I think the other videos I saw were for outbacks, which look similar but may not have the same force from the sway bar? If I take care getting the link off, is there a trick to getting it re-attached? Like jacking up the wheel assembly to relax the connection enough to reconnect? Thanks in advance.
You need to make sure both front or rear wheels are off the ground to relax the sway bar and as far as the ball joint i sometimes use a piece of pipe or crow bar put in from the front to the back at where the sub frame is and push down but need to break it loose Balljoint first and your welcome glad i could help 🙂
