- The Twenty Mile Loop Trail in the Smoky Mountains is a tough hike. The loop has an ascent choice of on the Twenty Mile Trail or the Wolf Ridge Trail. Which ever route your take, the climb is worth it when you make it to Gregory Bald and look down in the valley of Cades Cove. You can also take a short side trail to Shuckstack Fire Tower and see the view of Fontana Dam. Join along as I backpack the loop with Metro on the Move, Southern Hikes, and Andy Parrish Outdoors. #backpacking #smokymountains #greatsmokymountains #hiking #hikingadventures

I’m so jealous of you East coasters and your flat trails, tons of water, and plants everywhere. The Sierras are a mix of staring down so you don’t trip and die, or hoping that there is water at some point.
😂…funny, I just got back from Wyoming and absolutely loved headed out west to hike the trails. For me, all we see is a green tunnel. But, I love it anyway. I actually hope to see the Sierras some day. They look beautiful. Thanks for watching it! 😊🙏
@@ASTHECROWFLIESHIKING Another great video! I’m going to have to pick your brain at some point. We are hopeful that Shan’s feet are finally getting over plantar fasciitis, and hopeful that she will be able to do some winter hikes, but she isn’t going to want to camp. Just day hikes. So be pondering some good day hikes that we could go on and get her back to a hotel with a hot shower at night. 😂 I mean, I have several in mind, but know that you will know of more than I do.
Great trip and meetup. I can't believe you climbed up that rickety fire tower. Dang! The views were great though. You found where the bear goes in the woods! LOL. Cool t see the deer. Well done on your tough miles. Have a great day.
Thanks Packs! Yeah, nice little weekend adventure. Love the Smokies. Crow✌️
Nothing like a hike in the Great Smokies. Thanks for sharing the video.

Going to do the same loop this spring. In my mid 50s now with a torn up knee. I need that life alert sponsor. GOD bless and keep on keeping on.

Renaming the Smokies "uphill" - Had a blast man!

nice video dude. gonnna hike this trail next week!
Thanks! You will love it. Such a great section. Crow✌️
Looks like a great loop. I couldn't help but laugh at Taylor's suggestion about life alert.😂
Take care Brad!
Yeah…I had to get that clip. It also reminded me of a couple of climbs in the WW Range…I may have needed that life alert there too. 😂✌️
2 years ago I started at the Twenty mile loop trail. Went up wolf ridge trail to campsite 13 at Gregory bald. Then went across at got on the AT and stayed at campsite 113. Then woke up and went to shuck stack tower then back to the twenty mile ranger station. It was a beautiful hike but the elevation gain on that first day was wild. I had to stop and catch my breath several times. I thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest. Lol 😆 I know what you guys went threw on this trail. Awesome vid
I felt the same thing. I couldn’t believe that climb was so intense. Awesome trip! 😊✌️
That was the best recap of our trip that I have seen yet... I felt like I was there... 😂
That was really awesome, Crow... Nice job on the video!
And I found it fitting that the ad at the end of the video was for life alert... Not sure how you signed them so quickly... 💪
They reached out quickly, before I kicked the bucket...lol. Appreciate it! Great times, lets do it again. Crow
Good hike. I may have to check that trail out. I'm not far from it
It is a tough one, but, the views at the top are worth it. 🙏
Excellent video! Was definitely a challenge in some areas getting up to the AT and Gregory Bald. Good times!
Great trip Andy! Glad we could make this happen. Appreciate ya! Crow
Love that loop! But it seems whenever I can schedule time to do it, it always ends up pouring rain when I'm at Gregory's Bald! 😂 But even then, it's worth the climb. The climb up to Shuckstack definitely gets your heart going in the morning (in more ways than one)!
Oh yeah! It is worth is for sure. I hear ya on the rain…I’m batting about .400 on rain/sun getting up there on past trips. The climb always reminds me my heart is still beating…😂✌️
Well, at you guys didn’t hear any dueling banjos!
😂😂😂
That fire tower would be awesome...but I have noticed this strange correlation; as I have aged, my "bounce gear" doesn't work as well as it once did. And as my bounce gear has slowly declined, my fear of heights has slowly increased. As a boy & young man, I worked for a carpenter building houses. When quitting time rolled around, I would laugh at the "old guys" using the ladder to get off the roof as I just jumped to the ground. They warned me that I would regret that stuff one day...and here I am regretting it as I think hard about climbing up on so much as a 5 gallon bucket!!!!
LIFE ALERT!!!! Blahahaha!!! Dude, I nearly spit out my coffee on that one!
😂😂😂…my bounce back doesn’t work too well either Brad…oh well, we are getting old my friend. My mind tells me I’m 30…my body says…nope…😂✌️
He’s a comedian. Lol
I try. 😂✌️
