Welcome Back! This is Matt and I love turning trash into CASH. It is Nacho Stuff but that doesnt mean someones trash can't equal cash. You see, many people have abandoned all kinds of random treasures and toss them into the trash. We take these lost valuables and figure out a way to make a buck from them. Sometimes it through resell, other times we might just scrap it. Either way, we are turning free stuff into cash. I prefer the curbside scene but occasionally find myself in a dumpster or two. Join me as I try to turn nothing into something.
I mostly consider myself a scrapper or repurposer of things that people have decided to discard. Some call it picking while others consider it a true treasure hunt. But at the end of the day, like most scrappers, I am trying to reduce our waste while lining my pockets a little in the process. Each piece of scrap metal, item of curbside treasure or piece of dumpster loot means one less piece going into our landfills and that makes me happy. The fact that I can get paid for the effort is icing on the cake. Be sure to subscribe to stay up to date with my latest hunt and possible cool finds.

Now you got some good stuff to scrap. I got a three drawer shelf over the weekend & had to fix the sliders on the drawers & clean it. Now, it is in my kitchen full of tea towels and dish clothes with a convection oven on top. Loved it. Man, I need to find out when trash pickups go in town. You're loading up on scraps. Love it!
Find the neighborhoods of 3 and 4 garages . And find out their trash collection day , and go the night before and early in the morning, right before day break.
It takes some time but is well worth it. Just research and ask around - you will get it figured out.

I was off from work today. I asked my dog Rascal if he wanted to go find some scraps today. He barked yes so we started late about 11 and still ended up with the car loaded.
I may try my hand at a video to see what happens. I love scraping now. It is therapeutic to me, saves the landfill, and I gets paid a little.

That small dryer Matt is what we use in Scotland and our washing machines are about the same size aswell thats why I was saying to take the motors out of them because we get about £2 for the whole machine at the scrap yard but if we take the motors out we get nearly the same for the machines but we get just under £5 for the motors so its better for us to strip them.All the best from Dundee Scotland.👍👍✌👊👊

Another you tube page American thrift buyer/ scrap picker " Taco stacks " had a similar problem when he picked up soccer nets, he never broke them down before putting it in his van, everything got stuck into it. He said never again

When we were younger back in the late 60s / 70s/80s& 90s we never had mobile phones etc
We didn't have squat - I didn't have my first phone until I had been working for years. I think it was actually easier back then - everything is so fast paced today.

I've always enjoyed fireworks, no matter if you just watch it or light it yourself. It's quite normal to have a slightly burned thumb on New Year's day. ;)
I hope you all had a great 4th of July. As a German it was just a "normal" monday for me.

Honey do list?? Or fun stuff together? Always have stuff to do but we had lots of rain so it stayed on the Honey Do list, lucky me but now list is bigger. I stayed home for the 4th. If going to door dumpster later, your packing job better be on mark, Matt.

OOO and I also run a tank of ethanol free gas threw my pickup about every 4 or 5 tanks of gas just to help keep my carb cleaned out in my truck also.
Probably not a bad idea. He said the carb was like a gummy bear.

on the mower problem.. I only use ethanol free gas in all my small motors. from weed eaters, mowers, 4 wheelers, anything with small motors. yes it cost a little more but I never have problems gas related with anything and ethanol free gas wont go bad like regular gas will. also put a little sea foam gas treatment in ever so often to keep the carb and inside of the motor clean. just a hopefully a helpful hint for ya.
That's exactly what he does - I didn't know. Lesson learned
I showed my brother a Tom Thumb (as thick as a matchstick) between my index finger and thumb, POP no problemo.
What does he do, holds a double happy (cigarette sized) in his closed fist, KABOOM.
Luckily we're in New Zealand so there's snow on the ground, that helped with the burns.
Anyway now there's OHS so kids don't get to learn from life's little mistakes. Like my brother lefty did.
Just kidding he was fine all 10 fingers and he'd stopped crying by the time we got home. 🤣🤣🙄
I remember doing some pretty stupid things as a kids but there is way more access to fireworks - at least in my area - then there every was growing up. they sell them in the grocery stores. We never had personal fireworks growing up - only the ones you would see at the shows. When I would travel to Michigan you could get little baby pos and such but nothing like it is today. I was happy with a good smoke bomb - now the kids are just like MEH

i used to love fireworks as a kid, dont know how you cant
you can actually make more scrapping pennies than you can using them as pennies, granted you have to melt them and thats totally illegal, but a cool concept nonetheless, takes around 181 pennies to get a pound, and a pound of copper, even for #2 is $2.30, so around 50 cents extra, usually more
man that was a great day out there though, streets just kept giving and giving

Why is it when you backup to a spot at the junkyard you have to make more of a mash you throw up things up to the side of your trailer why can't you just throw it off the back it'll keep the and I'll keep it clean on both sides you yeah for the next person it's gonna be pulling in yeah you do put your stuff that you want to take in the Jeff I can understand that but the other side could be cleaned for other people to pull in there

They are dishwashers. Because they are expensive new and I am cheap. My washer/dryer guys does just those - not dishwashers. I will figure this one out and be back in business hopefully before the weekend is over.

You know how to drive but yet you don't know how that vehicle works has an engine in it you're not a Flintstone are you You should have a vehicle manual in your vehicle why don't you read up on it so then when you're out there there scrap it and you come across engine parts then you'll know which is which You shouldn't know what a rotor is but you don't know what a starter looks like That's my opinion

i think the wildlife will make it for the handful of days we use them. Thats why we are the APEX animals. Doesn't really matter the kids are not really impressed by them anymore anyways - the will likely die off like the silent films.
