- As Halloween is growing near and the Dystopian Fiction uploads are almost over, it's time for a cyberpunk synthwave concept piece. This song is a storyline setup for the album in a similar way that "Oblivion" set up the theme of Stargazers, and it's definitely dripping with 80's sci-fi inspiration. Specifically, this is a song about a holy war between cybernetic demigods and the subjects that they enslaved. It takes place in the post-apocalyptic Miami setting of the rest of Dystopian Fiction, and holds a theme of revolution and struggling to hold on to rights when they're being aggressively taken away. The song also sets up the events of Building Better Worlds, sowing the seeds of an uprising and preparing to rebuild what was lost.

Did anyone else hear the broken Chicago tornado siren at the end as it fades out? Or am I just crazy? Either way love the song, and tornado siren was a good addition :D

Yo, I got chills when the song said "We are building better worlds." Great call back or call forward either way that was fantastic. Your music is truly the original stuff I have been waiting for.

I wasn't surprised when I first heard that line. The whole album is meant to fit into the same sort of storyline as Building Better Worlds and Stargazers, so it makes sense that both would be referenced.

Oh, man. I actually had this on my mind this morning. The synths here are just beautiful, especially in the beginning and end. I do find myself getting "Pegasus Device" vibes from the bass, for some reason. And I'll say, this is an amazing song.

I'm finally far enough to say that you, aviators, had made most of the songs I love and use as a inspiration for my story. This songs let my emotions explode while I make my story, and your voice fit so good to the main character. I love your songs and hope for more :)

Ever had a song that you somehow feel connected to on a spiritual level? For me, it's this one. Wow. What a masterpiece. Definitely my favorite song from Dystopian Fiction. Though the entire album is also pretty amazing!

Hands down my favorite track off the album. It has those groovy drums reminiscent of old tracks like Losing Control, amazing synths, and memorable lyrics. Amazing job Avi!

GAK, where to begin?! 😆 This song is AMAZING! 🤩 The verses tell a compelling and immersive story; the chorus evokes something awesome (in the literal sense); and the synth solos are crazy good (at least, I think so)! I love the harmony and longer notes of "Here we stand on holy ground"--it sounds like unified resolve, itself.
My one criticism is that the POV is confusing, at least to myself. The verses are clearly from the perspective of those who criticize the Ascended, but the chorus might switch sides with an air of self-righteousness. Who is standing on holy ground? Certainly the Ascended, by their definition, though the rebels could be acknowledging that the City of the Bleeding Sun is now the domain of self-proclaimed deities. Alternatively, the rebels could be saying, "No, you aren't gods--we're the ones who are actually righteous." The part, "I am not the enemy--they have found the worst in me," could be the Hunter explaining that she's different from the other Ascended, or it could be the Elder convinced that he's not the villain. "Bleed it out and drown them in the sea," definitely sounds more like the Ascended's point of view. However, it could also be the rebels thirsting for vengeance by way of giving the Ascended the same punishment that the Ascended gave dissenters. So, is Holy Ground (The Ascended) from the rebels point of view, the Hunter's, that of the Ascended, or some combination? 🤔 Did anyone else have confusion here?

havent read the story thing but im guessing by the lyrics the story is somethin like: the leaders of a city (probably the cinematic future city) are realizing people are beginning to realize they dont like them and may revolt,so the leaders fight for some reason,and eventually kick everyone out of the city,everyone planning revenge or maybe a new city etc

this is great but, Its hard to hear your voice its being drowned out by the music if the vocals volume was raised a bit it would be easier to hear your voice. but thats just my opinion.
